APPEARANCE:
Padawan - Rhuark joined the Jedi order at a young age when he was still developing physically. As a padawan he was always of a rather lean build, tall, with bronze-brown skin beneath his padawan robes. The sides of his head were shaved and the top of his short curly brown hair forming into the the traditional padawan braid that swung over his right ear.
Knight - As a knight Rhuark preferred to stay light with his garments/robes, sticking to tunics, and flexible armors that would work well in combat. His hair was grown out to long braids flowing over his shoulders. His physique became much more athletic with the years of training and trials as a padawan.
BIOGRAPHY:
Rhuark grew up with barely any memory of his parents or where he was from. The only thing that was real for him, was the cesspool that was Nar Shaddaa. What he was told by his various owners (who kept him imprisoned as a gladiatorial slave), was that he was taken from a harsh home-world that found itself in the throngs of the galactic war and he was orphaned and alone. They tried to convince him that the underworld he found himself in was the best thing for him, and that fighting was in his nature. And he was good at it.
He quickly learned that he best not try to reason with his captors, but let his fists, and his vibrosword speak for itself. Through conquest in fight after fight he gained their praise. And with the occasional loss came pain. He grew to love the thrill of combat even though he was a mere adolescent, and he found himself able to best MOST fighters (innately using his force sensitive nature to enhance his combat ability).
Some time a year or two into his pit fighting, a man in odd robes appeared in the crowd during one of his fights. Though the hood of his cloak was up and covering most of his face, he had the eerie feeling that the man was watching him intently and the uneasiness was enough to almost make him lose the bout. But after besting his opponent, smiling stupidly as he pumped up a bloody fist holding a vibrosword that had done enough damage to the opponent's arm to draw blood, Rhuark looked for the cloaked man in the crowd and he was gone. Shortly after, as Rhuark returned to his quarters that the slave masters kept for him, the hooded man appeared again and cornered him in a dark alleyway, immediately putting him on the defensive. Rhuark reached for his vibrosword but found nothing, as the slave masters only let him wield it in the pits, outside of there, he was no one, and they didn't let him stay armed for his short walks confined within this corner of Nar Shaddaa.
The Jedi (for that was what Rhuark learned he was) proceeded to tell him that he was force sensitive and needed to learn to control his emotions and find serenity in the Living Force around him...all sorts of interesting things which Rhuark thought were clearly insane. But after a few parlor tricks, he was convinced this person was the real deal and agreed to leave under the protection of this Jedi to seek training with the New Jedi Order. He was only in his teens at the time, but while skilled in combat, he remained humble and learned to turn his vibrosword skill into lightsaber forms, which came quickly to him. The emotional control came less quickly and even several years later, as a padawan nearing the time for his Knight trials, he still struggles to control his temper, and control his emotions. Ultimately he wants to be a force for the light and help protect the balance that the Jedi Order strives to obtain. He will have to grow, but he's ready.
Persona:
Rhuark generally comes across as a very confident person, perhaps overly so, but is generally well-mannered, as any attitude in his early life was met with a beating. He has some deep issues that cause him to be quick to temper, or impatient, but he means well and has a good heart. Ultimately he wants to leave his mark in the galaxy and feel like he’s done something important with his life. He’s trying his best to learn to control his emotions and use words/politics, rather than swinging a fist.
If ever traveling to Nar Shaddaa it is possible some of the underworld kingpins may recognize his name from the status and recognition he achieved as a prized fighter. It’s also possible that there is a bounty on his head as a probable runaway.
