STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
[+] A Gimmick's Trace: On Nar Shaddaa time is money, but so is information. Information that Ria knows how to get without getting a blaster involved, most of the time anyway. Fast with her touches she can swiftly issue routine commands to computers that are not hostile toward her. Those that are, well - that's gonna take a little bit longer, and sometimes you just ain't got the time.
[+] Scoundrel's Shot: So when the hostile computer isn't budging and the sound of blasters begin, Ria's quick to return fire. The Smuggler's Moon was no place for a child, and Ria learned fast how to handle herself. A quick draw of her blaster pistol in hand she's got a precise shot, get her within thirty-feet and she's even better. While dispatching the first set of guards is one thing, escaping the rest of them that's another.
[+] Give'em the Slip: After she's successfully put that first batch of guards down, Ria knows it's time to go. Reacting just as fast to down guards as she does to a slice, she gets a running head start without provoking attacks of opportunities from any other opponent with thirty feet of her. Time is money, and in a place where slicers are a dime a dozen, it can pay to stay alive.
[-] Anxious: While Ria didn't have much in the way of blood family she did have a family, ladies from several clubs took the poor thing in. Unfortunately, Ria knew little of being tight lipped while a young girl, exposing one secret or another to rivals, spies and so on and so forth. As a result the now adult Ria, is overly cautious with her words a nervous thing who prefers to keep to herself.
[-] Loner: When the ladies at the clubs either no longer cared to keep her or had moved on with their lives, Ria was taken in by criminals, thugs and pirates. Who were unwilling to stick their necks out for her. As a result, Ria's had a hard time learning to play well with others and feels better off on her own. Allies are a distraction and may cause her to lose focus while in a fight.
[-] Branded: Upon her discovery the local hutts decided to brand her, the brand is visible on her left hand. Thus trying to seek out a living from anyone else has been hard, and harder still when she just wants to go somewhere and it happens to owned by a rival group. This also makes it incredibly hard for her to leave without spending the credits to convince guards, pilots and other folks to look the other way.
[-] Self Preservationist: If it's you or her, she's picking herself. Ria isn't one to be all noble and self-sacrificing as aforementioned a dead slicer doesn't make any credits. While she might want to bat for you or your group, she's bound by her brand to give up any one who crosses her owner.
DESTINY:
Self-Awareness
APPEARANCE:
With the awful dark orange hues of Nar Shaddaa drizzling around everyone who lives there, it can be hard to spot a five foot five blonde haired, blue eyed human. Humans like any other commodity that can be bought and sold in volumes are everywhere. Her blonde hair is only just maintained enough so that it doesn't weigh on her. Blue eyes are often sad, empty and lonely having resigned herself to the fate of the Hutts that run the vertical city.
She's not thin, no, Ria's well fed always has been. A benefit you could say when you've been a young girl in care of dancers who have a serious case of bleeding heart syndrome. Ria learned at young age how to bat her eye lashes and get the willing, and sometimes unwilling to feed her. She's not athletic but she holds a slight curve to her medium build.
BIOGRAPHY:
Orphaned on Nar Shaddaa is all she was told, left by her parents, forgotten even. Some have said her family came from Bespin, Cloud City to be exact and while Ria would love to visit. It's not something she can foresee at least not anytime soon. Ria, or Flika as she's often called by her owner for 'how her hair flicks in the lights.' It is said she was brought up through remnants of what was the refugee sector no more than a mewling thing. Hand delivered by someone in a dark cloak to the hutta crime lord, Sotta Ramesh Ajuugg. An agreement was made, and Ria came to Sotta on the condition that she live. The hutta discarded her once this mysterious stranger left.
She laid mewling for hours until a dancer who had come to see Sotta heard the squealing child, a twi'lek Na'lona. Na'lona took the girl back with her, where she and other dancers did what they could to feed and calm her. Na'lona was a fixture at one of the cantinas on the promenade, and the promenade was where Ria was let loose when Na'lona had to work. Wouldn't be hard to find a little girl with Sotta's brand on her hand, at least one would think. Ria was small then, and could fit into any tight space she could find. Which led to Na'lona purchasing a small probe droid to keep an eye on her. E-M4 or EM, who often stuck by Ria and began teaching her binary not that it wanted to but Ria was a curious child.
Now, as it happened or so it is told, Ria sold Na'lona's cantina out. She was no more than seven and had overheard the cantina's owner a mon calamari by the name of Asheen Genko was looking to sell the cantina to a rival hutt, Bezhi Vosadii Zorba, Vosadii as this hutta preferred. Genko unhappy with Sotta's lack of protection sought to sell his way out of the ongoing turf war. Ria, fearing that Genko would leave her Lona to fend for herself against Vosadii's thugs ran to Sotta. Sotta was in the middle of quite the important business meeting with a smuggler.
Ria interrupted the meeting shouting to Sotta what Genko had planned. Sotta enraged by such information detained the girl and sent his mercenaries to handle it. Ria waited what seemed like days, but was merely two hours when the mercenaries returned with Genko's head in hand. The cantina would have new owners, but Na'lona and the other dancers were long gone. EM4 had escaped the blastings and found Ria hiding somewhere in the Corellia sector. Recognizing EM, Ria pulled the droid into her arms. EM decided to take the girl to a cantina there, after all she was still young enough for someone to take pity on.
A bothan named Ary Lya'Sei who operated somewhere outside of the Meltdown Cafe took the girl in and put her to work on computers. EM stayed with her and Ria became more than good with her touches. When EM needed repair or maintenance of any sort Ria would slice her way into Ary's accounts or offer her services which at the time were no more than data transfers, and the occasional acquisition of datapads or the cracking of certain pads. Ary never quite treated Ria the way Lona had and since neither he nor anyone else would tell her where Lona went, Ria and EM decided to wait for Ary to crack.
Installing a listening device which she had acquired through one deal or another, Ria recorded Ary selling Sotta's merchandise to the Exchange. She took the information and slipped out of sight smuggling herself into crates that were headed straight for Sotta's grubby hands. There she presented him with information, and Ary was dispatched. The hutta finally looked at the young girl who by this time was about eleven. She had proven herself useful twice now, he liked that and attached her to a band of smugglers and pirates. He didn't trust them but felt Ria would do well to spy on them. Ria agreed on the condition that Sotta tell Ria what happened to Lona and the other dancers from Genko's cantina.
EM and Ria were introduced to a human Tylo Dystra a rugged looking chap who wore a duster and looked something fierce in his trimmed hat with customized blaster pistols. It was Tylo who taught Ria how to shoot, "can't run fer yer wholer lifer girlie." Tylo was a mean bastard and Ria wasn't spared his rage just because of her age and gender. He also knew why Sotta stuck her with him. "Dat slug can kiss'er goodbai-h, yer not gonner tell him a thang." He often took Ria into the hottest of situations just for her to slice her way into whatever it was his heart desired. What Tylo wasn't aware of, was that Sotta had given her - her own pocket scrambler and code cylinder. So while she could crack just about anything for him, she was also tracking his movements for Sotta.
Tylo told Ria that he was getting her off the moon, she warned him it was a bad idea. He wanted to put her to work else where. No one takes Sotta's property off world she tried to tell him. While she felt some deal of attachment to Tylo she wasn't so attached to the idea of being blasted into space. Ria while talking to someone she hadn't considered part of Sotta's group accidentally informed them of the plan. Sotta content to let it go only so far, wanted to ensure that Ria was reminded of who she belonged to. She watched Tylo die in front of her, and at the age of fifteen she had once more lost an important figure in her life.
She took Tylo's duster, hat, and pistols, with EM4 at her side she marched straight up to Sotta to tell him that she had up held her end of the bargain. The hutta laughed, and laughed like he hadn't laughed in ages. In not so kind words Sotta told her what happened to Lona and the others, they were gone - gone off world not that Ria would ever be able to leave. She was his, his property and nothing of Sotta's goes off world without his say so, and she - she wasn't going anywhere. Sotta then ordered EM4 to be destroyed. As a reminder of what would happen to her if she tried to leave. To which end Ria with drew her blaster pistol and shot at the mercenaries who were quick to hold her down while they bashed away at the drone.
Left to pick up EM4's many pieces she gathered the droid up with a promise to repair him.
With her fate seemingly sealed, Ria went down into the Corellia sector once more there she managed to rent out a small space for herself. A loft somewhere between the trifecta of bounty hunter cantinas she set EM4 down into a trunk and has slowly set about improving her old friend. She became something of a go-to for newbie hunters who were willing to hunt for Sotta. Ria refused service to anyone who wasn't working with or for Sotta, having learned her lessons. Ria's life consisted of work, and repairing EM4. And of course, writing down her life experiences so that one day she can tell Lona, wherever she might be. A small data collection of datapads that are set aside on her workbench contain the stories of her life and her apologies to Lona.
Outside of her somewhat dismal life, Ria does dream of visiting Cloud City and perhaps finding out what happened to her birth family, but to do that she'd have to leave Nar Shaddaa.
