Ricochet and some Ideas

[Ricochet]

Hello everyone, my name is Ricochet (but some of you may know of me as the writer of Darth Hauntruss). I have been bitten with the Imperial Faction bug, and would like to lend my experience with faction building and my love for Imperial characters/factions to help FO as best as I can.

With that I have some ideas, feel free to criticize or add to them:

1. This one is just for personal plot progression, Id like permission to establish a Stormtrooper Company called White Wolves, it is modelled off of Vader's Fist but in this way it is fanatically loyal to [member="Aram Kalast"]. And they carry out the most brutal campaigns when need be.

2. I would suggest a mass faction thread in which you claim a world for your fleet and re-establish a base of operations. This helps with A. Igniting Faction activity and collective relationships between faction members. B. Establishes, an IC Lore for the faction and develops the necessary base to build off of. As for my suggestions I'd say for Imperial heritage go either Lothal or for a planet with very little canon history - thus allowing for our lore to be impressed upon it - I'd go with Vassek. Both are at a safe distance from most major factions, with exception to Lothal its rather close to COTBR.

3. Re-establish negotiations with the Galactic Alliance. I understand there was a war before but, if you plan to be the dominant "Darkside" faction ala Imperial flavor, you will have to uproot the Sith. And the Sith are heavily entrenched. IC'ly you can finagle a mutual military alliance - jointly against the One Sith. This way you are not politically tied to their cause - but, are put off their radar and are seemed less of a threat and more of a potential asset. You will have to swallow your pride a bit on this one but, long term it can be very fruitful endeavour.

4. This one has been brought up before but eh, it'd may be advantageous to take a GR styled system - where FO is like the Jedi Order, a force order within a larger Imperial Faction - which you could call the New Order. This way there is a hint of the FO in the name but you aren't outright claiming to be a faction that we as a community still know very little. I know that your FO is your own creation and not a like-for-like comparison to Ep VII, but that's not what it looks like to newcomers or prospective members searching for a faction. It is seen as premature and uncertain. This is not a direct criticism btw, and I am not insulting this faction's hard work. I am suggesting that some clever wordplay can make this faction a lot more attractive to new members - if stylized as an Imperial Faction with FO flavour added inside.

Anyways those are my ideas. Thanks All in all I am excite to see where this faction goes.

A new home is currently being scouted by [member="Daska Tess"], [member="Belis Ren"], and myself on Dosuun. For story purposes we also had made a suggestion others could scout other worlds as well, ones far enough from being snatched up by anyone going major.

If you want to round a crew up to scout another world go for it!

Hello [member="Ricochet "]and welcome to the faction. We spoke earlier and it's good to see you aboard.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions. I'll address them as they are numbered -

1. I'm sure Aram would not have a problem with that. It would be cool to see some PC-created Stormtrooper units to add flavor to the faction.

2. This is definitely something we need to do. It is high priority - if no one creates a thread for it within the next few days then I will go ahead and start one.

3. I have a philosophy that I've taken from politics that I like to call "never punch to your righ (or left)". In other words, if you're right-wing, don't attack others who are also right wing just because they are less/more right wing than you. The same goes with the left wing. The left shows solidarity by not attacking those further to the left from them, but instead goes out of their way to defend them. I apply the same philosophy to the board. We're a dark-side faction, so we should not be attacking other dark-side factions. It simply doesn't make sense from an IC standpoint because we have way more in common with the Sith than we do with the GA. I even have to put aside OOC feelings on this one because anyone who knows me knows I'm not a huge fan of the OS on a personal level. But I can't let that affect my IC perspective. We should not be attacking the One Sith, they stand for many of the same things we do. The GA on the other hand, is openly belligerent towards us IC and has basically started an unprovoked war with us. They are not our friends, nor should they be. We stand for complete opposite things.

If/when we become the dominant Dark Side faction I would like it to be because we absorbed the smaller factions and became the biggest, best place where everyone wants to go. I think if it happens, it should be an organic occurrence where people basically acknowledge our greatness and abandone the One Sith and join us on their own. Aside from that, it doesn't really bother me if the OS exists at the same time as us. Let them hang around. It will not stop us from doing what we do best.

4. This is just my opinion but I don't want to change the name. I think the First Order is a great name and it should stay that way because we're emulating the new canon here and the name has canon weight behind it. That's what drew me to the faction in the first place.

First off welcome! It's great to see you jumping in here! Love Hauntruss and excited to see what you can do with this one!

1. I love the idea. We can make it Kalast's personal Stormtrooper Legion, add some nice flavour to what is otherwise a very generic brand. Plus it will add the chance for others to create their own as well, giving a nice chance to make some personalisation.

2. We are currently scouting worlds, we figured rather than just going. "This world is now our new home." We'd tell the story of how we get to that point. Make the faction have a good fluid IC core story.

3. For now the First Order is pretty against the Alliance. In fact I feel we should start getting involved in their open threads and just become a pain for them by adding constant small scale opposition.
Eventually when the time is right we will declare some form of cease-fire to concentrate on a core ward movement but for now the Sith shall remain off our radar...unless everyone wants to attack them.
I value opinions.

4. I have thought of this and it is open for discussion. At the moment we have four Imperial factions going about. The First Order, the Galactic Empire, The Imperium and the The New Imperial Order(?). All of which could form to make a super faction, but I feel there are too many different opinions on what people want the Empire to be.

That being said I am open to the idea of creating the framework for such a project, the First Order are a tool as such and could be used to create an evil version of the Galactic Alliance in terms on size and success.

From what I understand, the New Imperial Order is not something we want to get involved in. PM as to why if you would like to know why I say this. I don't want to discuss here in public.
