Right, I have to go to meetings?

And where were the spiders
The Wheel, lovely. Marek hadn’t been out this way in a while. And this was the first time where he was having an actual legitimate reason for showing up here. He knew that part of his position as Foreman of the Techno Union meant he needed to create business deals. Not everything could be created by the companies that were part of the Union, and one place they were sorely lacking was ground assault. They were needing a few more updated tanks.

When certain things crossed his desk, there wasn’t much he could do to turn them away, especially if there was a need. Marek may not be the most technologically intelligent person, but he was a survivor, and that meant so much more. He was able to see the weak points and where he needed to cover himself, and his companies. When the Tenloss Skocha Tank showed up in open market, he immediately made an appointment with the proper party.

Having taken his MC-15 out to the Wheel, he wasn’t quite sure what to expect from Tenloss, but after speaking to his military contact, this was needed. So, he was going to make an offer to purchase a lot of these. If they could buy them, then with the new resource and mapping projects that were slated to be coming out of the Techno Union, Marek was sure that they could create a working agreement with the corporation. Not that they were hurting for funding at the time, but... it would do better to have something in the works as collateral.

Having dressed in a traditional suit for humans, Marek wasn’t even sure that it would be seen as appropriate. He was dealing with a Hutt, wasn’t that correct? Whatever, he didn’t really segregate beings in his head, aside from the ones that were helping him, and the ones that were actively making an effort to harm him. Approaching the desk, he nodded to the receptionist. “I’m Marek Starchaser. I’ve got an appointment?” He almost questioned, but when told to take a seat, nodded and sat down. Pulling out his datapad, he was going over a few things. Where was SIndy when he needed her?

Popo glanced through his papers on his desk and shifted a few files to the cabinet nearby. Most nowadays used computers to stockpile their data, but Popo like the old school approach. Besides, staring at holos all day hurt his eyes.

He glanced at his agenda and realized that a @[member="Marek Starchaser"] was due for an appointment. The massive Hutt glanced through the meeting's subject and frowned. He was here to discuss the purchase of Skocha tanks. The CIS had a contract but no one had contacted him to set up purchases or deliveries. He hit the commlink set into his desk.

"Send Mr. Starchaser in, please."

Really, there was so much going on that the staff in the Techno Union were not sure of what was going on. As this was a direct job for the Union, and not one of the primary companies, Marek was the one who was going to make the appearance. He needed to work on a few things. He had Sindy as his tech guru, what he needed was a buyer. If he could make approvals and send someone else to go do the leg work? He’d even through in a spiffy new ship for them, and a company credit card.

That was the next position he was looking to fill.

Until then, he was more than happy to get out around the galaxy. Stretch his legs, take some R&R on different worlds, and get behind the control yolk of his ship. Really, he was going to be picking up something from his homeworld soon, and should really have the Techno Union build something he would want to fly, being the foreman and all.

When he was told to enter the room, he did so with an almost military gait. Almost as he wasn’t a miitaary man, but he was going to greet the Tenloss CEO, @[member="Popo"] with the same circumstance he would the Archon of the Templar Order. “Thank you for seeing me. I apologize for the delays, adjusting to my new position has been busy.” Not an excuse, just a matter of fact.

"Not a problem, I understand completely," Popo said as he gestured to the human sized chair before the massive desk the Shell Hutt sat behind. "I see you're here to pick up the Skochas as per the standing agreement between Tenloss and the CIS?"

(Short post, sorry)

See, that was the trick. Marek was showing up in the Tenloss office, a company he wasn’t even sure had a necessarily proud relationship with the Confederacy, and here he was making up an excuse. It was polite, but was it necessary? Was it needed? Time would tell. Still, it was time to get down to business. Sitting himself in the appropriately sized chair, and not at all feeling like a character in a fairy tale would probably shouldn’t have broken into the house of three wampas, he took a second to focus his thoughts and clear his mind.

“I am. I figure it would just be as good to come face to face, to discuss the remainder of the contract, instead of sending a member of the lower staff.” And this, ladies and gentlebeings is why Marek Starchaser never has time for anything.

"Admirable," was all Popo said for the moment. He pulled the file he'd found earlier and handed the paper copy to Marek. "The agreed upon arrangement was that the CIS would supply Tenloss with the main weapon from the J-1 Semi-autonomous Proton Cannon walker vehicle for use in a combat vehicle manufactured by Tenloss. In return for the supply and a reasonable discount on the weapons themselves, Tenloss will, in turn, provide the combat vehicles in question to the CIS at a returned discount as well as a standard contract of priority supply and replacement for the vehicles. The vehicle in question is the Skocha-class Main Battle Tank which, from both early and current testing, is capable of targeting, tracking, and engaging nearly every known combat vehicle and tank effectively and lethally, often on the first shot. It can also take a substantial amount of damage before being rendered combat ineffective. Now, while I have paid for and received the cannons from the CIS, no one from the CIS has contacted me or responded to my inquiries about signing the priority supply and replacement contract. Which is why, I'm assuming, you're here."

Now this was something he could respect. Marek nodded, grabbing the sheet of flimsiplast. Some people just didn’t understand the need to keep a hard copy. Maybe it was because Marek was worried about surviving, or that he was worried on electrical warfare. Looking the sheet over and listening to @[member="Popo"], Marek was understanding the whole deal here. “Yes, I’d like to see what we have for an offer for resupply and future shipments of the Skocha. And how we can come to an agreement to keep this contract and trade deal going.” Sure, the vehicles would be great for invasion, but having them on friendly worlds would encourage the enemy to steer clear, mostly. At least that was the hope.

"The contract is actually set already," Popo stated with a shrug. "The agreement will continue so long as the Proton Cannons are sold to me at the arranged discount. That's why the CIS has the supply contract. You'll receive the first dozen Skochas in about four days, I just need a planet to deliver to and the paperwork signed. And the funds moved. In another three weeks you'll have another dozen and so on and so forth until the CIS military has the full allotment that was agreed on. You'll also receive priority resupply in the event of losses as well as repair parts."

Popo set another sheet on the desk and gestured to [member="Marek Starchaser"].

"Once you sign and the funds are moved, we're in business, Mr. Starchaser."

Marek nodded. He looked to the Hutt. At least the paperwork was done by his predecessor “Of course, we’ll be able to do that for you.” If there was an agreement, there was no need for him to go back on it. “Sounds like a perfect schedule to me. If you can deliver them down to Bothawui, that will be best, and we’ll move them from there. Obviously, you’ll need to make an arrangement to get permission for the delivery, but I’ll let the planet know we’re expecting you.”

Taking a look at the sheet, he looked it over quickly, and effectively. Taking a pen, he made his mark. “It’s a pleasure to do business with you, [member="Popo"].” He reached to his datapad. “What is the account we’re making the transfer to?”

Popo

I'm Sexy and I Know It
"The general Tenloss account is sufficient for the transfer," Popo stated with a mild shrug. "I'll have them delivered to Bothawui in four days or so and then our intermediaries can arrange the exact date of the next delivery. I believe that ends this meeting, Mr. Starchaser, but I will keep in touch with other product lines you may be interested in."
