Ringo Vinda dominion OOC thread

IC thread

The main OOC reason for why we even have this dominion in the first place is because Ringo Vinda was placed out of its canonical hex in the last map update, yet those who are familiar with Ringo Vinda post-Wheel Hex dominion, will recognize Ringo Vinda as a Silver Sanctum, and later Silver Jedi world. Hence the whole premise of this dominion being about a referendum to either stay or leave the Silver Jedi.

As convened with [member="Coci Heavenshield"] for the time being it is a T1 dominion.

Here are the six objectives of this dominion:

Objectives:

Objective 1: Investigation (ground action)

After 3 Silver Knights are killed within 24 hours, a serial killer is on the loose on Ringo Vinda, targeting Jedi. Ties to the Sith Order are suspected. The Order must investigate who - or what - led to their deaths

Objective 2: Race against time (space action/fleeting)

When a Silver Jedi ship is hijacked and stolen, we must find it and stop it from being used for a devastating plot to strike at Ringo Vinda. The hijacked ship is carrying a time bomb and is on a collision course towards the orbital ring station

Objective 3: Starship development (corporate/technology development)

Several new classes of starships are under development at once, based on ships whose remains are floating in orbit since the Clone Wars: the upper administration of Ringovinda StarYards has requested crowdsourced assistance for their development in an attempt to bring the costs down due to the taxes levied by the Order on Jedi-owned corporations (5 posts under that objective will count as a contract with Ringovinda StarYards or Ringovinda Systems, depending on the nature of your contributions - you will receive an IC confirmation after you make your fifth post in the dominion)

Objective 4: Gungans and the Netherworld (scholarship)

Since the Netherworld happened, where people disappeared left and right, whereabouts of Gungans rematerializing on Ringo Vinda in its wake have been spotted up here in the Aldanna Range. Details about the sudden change of lifestyle for the Gungans and their differences compared to those who remained on Naboo should be explored for the greater benefit of the Silver Jedi.

Objective 5: Referendum (diplomacy)

The Ringovindian "lottery democracy" is holding a referendum for Ringo Vinda to leave the Silver Jedi, citing that their affiliation to a magocracy is rendering them vulnerable to attacks from all sides. Try to curry favor with the local population in an attempt to keep Ringo Vinda in the Silver Jedi fold.

Objective 6: Bring your own

I was not aware we'd greenlit this dominion, especially so soon after the last one - which is still ongoing due to the rebellion, mind you. Not very good timing for another dominion.

Furthermore, I don't see the sudden and urgent need to dom this particular world. Nor do I recall it ever being under SSC/SJ control. You say it got moved out of our cloud, but would you mind telling us where it used to be? Because I can't find it on any of the older maps.
Please answer the above questions.

I also ask that no-one post to this dominion until the ongoing rebellion is wrapped up. No sense in splitting our attention elsewhere.

Fair enough [member="Thurion Heavenshield"]. Still frownies though. Do we by chance have any idea of the estimated remaining duration of that rebellion? I'm certain I'm too far removed at this point to participate that particular thread, which was why I was so eager to get involved in this one.

In the Essential Atlas, which is the only canonical source as to Ringo Vinda's location in the galaxy, Ringo Vinda's canonical location is R-7, in the Mid Rim part of that grid coordinate. Also, in canon, the Wheel is in the Besh Gorgon system, who, in turn, is also in that Essential Atlas grid coordinate.

De facto everyone that actually used Ringo Vinda as a RP location assumed it was in the Wheel's hex, albeit closer to the Core, since it is in a different sector (Eucer vs. Maldrood). Plus the Mandos had, about two months back, a list of four planets to raid that they assumed to be Republican property:
  • Nubia
  • Kashyyyk
  • Loronar
  • Ringo Vinda
but called off Ringo Vinda because of its canonical hex being SSC property. (Admittedly it is rather close to the edge of the hex).

[member="Thurion Heavenshield"] Perhaps you should archive the dominion for the time being.

[member="Ryn'Dhal"] - Patience, young one. Also, it's good to have you back. :)

[member="Charzon Loulan"] - Fair enough. I'm not knocking this dom from ever happening, I'm just saying you should've at least waited either for us to greenlight it or at the very least until the outcome of the rebellion is decided.

Patience is no problem. I am extremely occupied with work and a new baby on the way, so I post when I can. I was just trying to plot out the course of my story with my Padawan in advance. At least in this manner, I have more time to chart it out with her. :)

For the time being, however, Ringo Vinda is to be regarded as being de facto SJ property, without officially being regarded as such. Unless [member="Thurion Heavenshield"] or [member="Coci Heavenshield"] has any objection to us unofficially controlling the planet...
