Another sad loss today - English actor Alan Rickman has died aged 69 due to cancer.

Famous for such roles as Hans Gruber in 'Die Hard', Severus Snape in 'Harry Potter' and the Sherriff of Nottingham in 'Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves' amongst many others.

Sad times indeed.

...no! :( why

EDIT: That's the third legend (I know of) this year who has passed away from Cancer. Absolutely heartbreaking, I sorely felt the loss of Bowie, but Rickman is something else all together. He's one of my all time favourite actors, he has roles in some of the most pinnacle movies which have inspired me over the years. A large muse. Genuinely heartbroken right now.

It's like he made every character of his instantly memorable with his unique portrayal in most genres - action, drama, comedy, sci-fi - and every film because of that became more memorable due to his involvement. Sad news indeed.

Of all the actors, musicians, and so on that I've heard of passing in recent years.... This was the first to actually evoke a reaction in the natural world.

I felt shock and anguish when Bowie passed. My heart ached, and I watched the Labyrinth and sobbed like a babe.

I was saddened over Jackson dying several years ago, and even now listen to some of his songs wondering 'what if' scenarios. What if he got the help he needed way back when? etc etc.

But Alan. My dear Alan. I read the title of your post [member="Connor Harrison"], and I actually, literally, yelled "No! No @#$%ing way!!!!"

My neighbor came down to make sure I wasn't having an emergency in my apartment. I told them the news, and she actually started weeping.

I cannot believe it. It tears at my heart. Too soon. Far, far too soon.
