SPECIAL FEATURES
Using micro-ferrite deposits and electrochemical propulsion, the plant matter in the railgun system is able to accelerate to immense velocity. Variable rounds allow for usage in variable situations - anti-personnel rounds for massed troops, high-penetration rounds for vehicles and starships. An organic, malleable construction allows for absorption of the recoil, and its self-repairing design helps it regenerate from any damage it may take in combat or by over-stressing the weapon.
- The railgun system can accept a limited variety of Sylva Vitae ammunition, depending on the situation and desired output
- 'Slug' round - extremely dense and heavy, designed as a kinetic penetrator. The default round for range, damage, and recoil variables.
- 'Birdshot' round - the round fragments shortly after firing into a spread of high-penetrating shards
- 'High-ex' round - Penetrating round which detonates shortly after contact
- 'Chem' round - Thin-walled round which explodes into a massive pool of Noxii fluid, ideal for anti-infantry.
- Rounds travel in a ballistic arc - reducing power to fire allows it to hit targets at a variety of ranges, including indirect fire trajectories to hit behind barriers or obstacles
- Fully compatible with Sylva Vitae biotech & tracking suites
- Massive stopping power and very long range makes it ideal for anti-ship or anti-vehicle weaponry.
- High-velocity rounds are difficult for large ships or vehicles to dodge
- Variable rounds allow for multi-purpose usage depending on the combat situation.
- Slow-firing and high recoil makes it large and heavy.
- Ballistic rounds cannot track targets, and highly maneuverable ships can dodge incoming fire with decent piloting.
