Intent: Create a bodyguard for Lirka

Role: Bodyguard unit for Lirka
Permissions: N/A
Links: N/A

Unit Name: Rís's tiri, Queen’s Guard

Affiliation: Lirka Ka, and by extension the Sith Empire

Classification: Bodyguards

Equipment: The Ris’s Tiri wear duraplast modeled after Lirka’s own, at least before she became Governor within the Empire: in addition to this they each have a personal energy shield to protect them from enemy fire while entering into combat with their Queen. Just like Lirka, they wield large and exotic blades lined with Electro-Plasma Filament, though unlike the Songsteel blade of their Liege they wield Duranium-crafted weapons.

Description: A smattering of old Thustra nationalists is the best way to describe the Ris’s Tiri: it the simplest terms at least. They are those Sephi who had left their home after it’s occupation, many of them previously royal guard, which leaves them a stoic sort: cold and statue-like when on guard, and twirling infernos of burning blades and flying limbs when the call to action is given. Now clad in sharp and baroque armor like their new Queen, the same style she had worn prior to upgrading the design of the current suit, they are given free reign and wildly encouraged to let out their hatred of a conquered Thustra in bloody acts of graceful and artistic violence. But Lirka is an Imperial now, and so when not in combat a side-cape is worn by every member: black in coloration with the emblem of the Sith Empire emblazoned on it for all to see, a show of their new dual loyalties to the Queen, and the Empire she currently serves. The current members of the Ris’s Tiri are as follows:

Ankyre: The de-facto “Captain of the Guard”, Ankyre served as Lirka’s Guard when she was merely a child and fought alongside her during her tenure as a warrior of the Confederacy, though on Zomnira both the Ris’s Tiri of the time and Lirka would meet their end. He would wander the Galaxy as a Swordsman seeking a good and artful death, it would never come. Found by the reborn Lirka, he would be brought into the Imperial fold without question. He is unquestionably loyal, and would fall on his blade if his Queen demanded it so. This zealous devotion makes him a dangerous foe on the battlefield, and he is the best warrior of the Ris’s Tiri.

Sekki: Eldest of the Ris’s Tiri, Sekki was not a warrior when she left Thustra. A retired captain of the local defense force, she would live life as a craftswoman: making clothing in that usual overly grandiose nature that many Sephi did. When the Mandalorians took over Thustra, she departed to continue her business elsewhere. Just as all the Ris’s Tiri, Lirka would hunt her down: calling upon her devotion to the Throne. Sekki is the weakest warrior of the Ris’s Tiri, but is by far the most reasonable, and often serves as Lirka’s advisor and a way to control the erratic temper of their Queen, many an unnecessary atrocity stopped by a few wise words from the old woman.

Ishno: Ishno and Anzko are the warrior-brothers of the Ris’s Tiri, the two wandering the Galaxy as thrill seeking mercenaries. The actual blood relation of the two is often questioned due to the nature of their relationship seeming far too close to some of the ancient mythology of Thustra. They are more fool hardy than their older kin, for the twin brothers are youngest of the Ris’s Tiri, around the same age as Lirka herself (somewhere in the range of 120 and 130), Ishno is commonly considered the more immature of the two: he hungers for battle at any chance, and is always eager to prove himself to the elders among him. Making him a poor guard, but a wonder our asset when the Ris’s Tiri and their Queen go onto the field of battle.

Anzko: Just like his brother, Ishno, Anzko hunts for glory and battle each feeling compelled to commit greater and greater acts so as to prove themselves equal to the elder warriors. Anzko is much more leveled than his sibling, and rolls off the foolhardy bloodlust of his brother to make them a vicious blade-swinging duo, the two working on a rhythmic level far beyond that of the other Ris’s Tiri.

Deknul: Deknul is the most “evil” of the lot, and whilst Sekki could be considered the angel of the lot he is easily the devil. He urges Lirka into greater acts of murder on Mandalore, for just like his Queen his hatred for the conquerors of Thustra is unparallel. Deknul is a rampant supremacist, and believes all life is moronic and ugly compared to the Sephi. Though is rarely allowed to voice such opinions out in the open, unless they are the enemies of the Empire of course. Like Ankyre, Deknul was also a proper Royal Guard, and just like the Captain left the world when it was first conquered.

Kalaric: The pilot of the Ris’s Tiri, when the gaggle of warriors are not being deployed within an Imperial transport it is always Kalaric who ferries them around: Kalaric comes from less noble upbringings of retired captains and royal guards, being only a moderately skilled fighter pilot who had left home to become a swoop racer, an amusingly similar story to Lirka leaving to become a Gladiator. Despite this, he is a far more calm thrill-seeker, if such a thing exists. More so focused on doing the best as possible on the most wild and outrageous maneuvers, without breaking a sweat. Less of a combatant member, he is able to hack away at chaff with reasonable skill.

Malu: Malu is not a warrior, in the conventional sense. She was a Shadow, an assassin that has refined her craft over many decades. Whilst most of the Ris’s Tiri will just use their blades, all are well aware that Malu has hidden away various small Vibroblades to make use of her vicious training, there is a level of grace far beyond the other members of the Ris’s Tiri in her work, the art of murder pushed far beyond the norm. Malu is void of empathy for other beings, and it makes her a ruthless force on the battlefield.

Javi: the silent sentinel, Javi is the last of the former royal guards in the Ris’s Tiri, swearing himself to an Oath of Silence until Thustra was a free world. And has made some variations to this ideology what with the Queen’s service to the Empire, speaking purely in sign-language. Living life as a monk in the Outer Rim before Lirka found him, pressing the man once more into service. His time delving into the philosophies of the Galaxy has left him quite wise, though very cryptic.

Unit Size: Small, only 8 Members

Unit Availability: Rare

Unit Experience: Elite

Combat Function: The Ris’s Tiri are used as a supplementary force to Lirka when she enters the fray of battle, or standing a near constant vigil over her when not in battle.

Strengths:
Graceful Killers

Each of the Ris’s Tiri, even their weakest members, are refined killers that have been taught the brutal and beautiful fighting style of their queen. When the Ris’s Tiri actually get into combat it is a swirl of blades and limbs in a synergy only those long-lived species can properly achieve. Each has turned combat into their art, and Sephi love their art.

Fitted for War:
To compliment the training, the Ris’s Tiri are given hardy material so as to amplify their durability and killing power, personal shields and duraplast to protect them from ranged attacks and Duranium to allow their blades to trade blows with some of the more dangerous weapons within the Galaxy: at least once or twice before it broke.

Weaknesses:
No Ranged:

The Ris’s Tiri are fitted exclusively for melee combat, which can create some issues when the wider Galaxy and their favor for ranged weaponry is considered.

Nigh Irreplaceable:
While there is probably at least one or two Sephi out there that could replace members of the Ris’s Tiri, these ancient warriors have lived for centuries and can not have their experiences easily replaced by just anyone. Even a single loss could be devastating.

Historical Information:
Nationalism is something that appears on any world, it only takes a handful of people to have a burning passion in their traditions to allow something like the Ris’s Tiri to come into existence. The Queen’s Guard are Thustra Nationalists, utterly loyal to the Throne and holding some degree of disgruntlement after their world was taken over by some galactic power or another. This concept of turning disgruntled nationalists into her bodyguards is not a new thing to Lirka, and during her tenure fighting alongside the Confederates the original “Ris’s Tiri” was under her command. A gaggle of former Royal Guards whom she had stumbled upon during the Confederate conquest of a world, and after an initial scuffle that left her near death it was revealed that the brutal warrior they had fought was none other than the heir to the throne. This same concept of ensuring loyalty via her royal bloodline was one Lirka would use with her current assortment of bodyguards.

The original Ris’s Tiri would die alongside Lirka on Zomnira, save for the man Ankyre who would wander the Galaxy, lost and waiting to rejoin his kin in death. But Lirka would return, and as time progressed and she found herself as Governor of Imperial Mandalore, the need for a new group of Bodyguards became apparent. A show of Sephi skill, and the practicality of having people with some actual understanding of her mindset as advisors, and those who could actually match her fighting style. What followed next was a quest of hunting rumors and local legends to find anything or anyone who fit the descriptions loosely fitting a Sephi Warrior.

Truthfully, the quest was not so grandiose as it sounded. She traveled to the wide ends of the Galaxy and towards the depths of it’s core, tirelessly hunting. And slowly, her possee of nationalistic bladesmen and women grew in size. The Ris’s Tiri had taken form, and Lirka would quickly pounce on the opportunity to remake them in her own brutal image, they casted away their former arms and armor and had new gear forged for them in the fires of Sith-Imperial production, with Lirka’s watchful eyes following the entire process. Jagged plate and bizarre alien weapons was what the Ris’s Tiri wielded now, they held that same evil aura that surrounded Lirka’s own plate, an intimidation tool for all who would look upon the Governor and her Bodyguards.

Okay! They don’t need to be Factory submissions. If any of them exist in canon or Legends, Wookiepedia links are also acceptable. If not, I can move it to Pre-Codex, which gives you a month to work on it. Just let me know which way you’re thinking!
