- Lightweight blaster, accurate and effective at close-range, making it ideal for boarding or shipboard environments.
- Suppression Fire. This blaster had a fully automatic firing function, which repeatedly cycled the spin chamber for as long as the trigger was depressed.
- Low Recoil. The autosteady gyro-gimbal made it more likely that the weapon would be held relatively stable even in automatic firing mode.
- Short-Range. Not intended to go the distance. Accuracy is high to 91 meters, and then it becomes more of a guessing game.
- The Drop Off. Blast discharge loss of power is significant at 180 meters and beyond.
- Lightweight Construction. This is made of polycarbonate, not durasteel. A protracted firefight or brawling is likely to crack or damage the housing.
- Non-Submersible. Don't take this to Mon Calamari (or Taypho, Lamaredd, Manaan, etc)
The Rockstar was the name for this carbine on the black market, and was a significant credit maker for the group known as Darkwire owing to the cheap, easily sourced materials used in its manufacturing. It could be assembled relatively quickly and was extremely effective in shipboard or urban environments.
The Rockstar had three firing modes, operated by a selector switch on the side of the blaster. The lowest setting was a double-action firing action, in which the first round required a long trigger pull, but immediately chambered another round for a second or subsequent trigger pull. The medium setting was a three-round burst, with groupings within 8-10 centimeters inside of 91 meters firing range, making it accurate even at the higher rate of fire -- provided it was operated at close-range. The highest setting was fully automatic, firing repeatedly for as long as the trigger was depressed.
The Rockstar was constructed almost entirely of polycarbonate. This was for several important reasons, the main being to save on costs as the material was common around scrap yards and easily recycled. This had the benefit of making the resulting carbine lightweight, but also brittle. Dallorian alloy was used in the barrel and spin chamber, which allowed it to handle the high heat generated by the repeating fire modes. As with other SQUIB GAMES weapons, the Dallorian alloy was sourced through mining and prospecting equipment.
Through its Squib arms dealer, Darkwire supplied the weapon through the G'uotr Network.
