In the Character Creation forum are a couple pinned topics. Follow the template to get an idea of how to get your biography structured.

(And if you're looking for a faction, I'm going to shamelessly suggest the Techno Union. B1s for life!)

Here's a link to the Tutorial Forum. Read up and ask questions here. It's a big site and can take a little bit to learn. Hehe. Most people start by:

• Creating a character in the Character Creation Forum. Only a brief bio is required to begin play. Templates are provided.
• Next, they drop by the Roleplay Discussion Forum and start a thread looking for people to write with. Factions (which are just Writer Groups) included.
• Then it's off the Open or Private Roleplaying Forums to begin playing.

You'll get the hang of it in no time. Enjoy.

I'm just wondering how exactly I should inject myself into one of these forum scenes! I'm new to forum rp and am kind of shy.

The best way to get your feet wet is to just jump right into an open Public thread and start writing. That's what I'd recommend. Public threads are a great way to meet new people and get a feel for your character at the same time.

Or you could always post something in the Roleplay Discussion section if you have a specific story in mind for your character. I'm sure that there are others also looking for threads who would take you up on it.

Lastly, if you join a Faction, there are Faction threads you could jump into.

Chaos is pretty friendly to first time RPers. You'll do fine
