Private Roots Of Courage

Travelin’ the Stars
Trial Of Courage
Location:
Ashla's Heart, Tython
Calm winds blew through the tress branches, giving off a relaxing feeling underneath them.

He had never had the chance to visit Tython before. Now he was kicking himself for it. The planet had such beautiful locations, with the floating islands making the planet sound like an old spacer tale. Placing his hand on one of the massive tree roots, it reminded him of the giant trees that grew back on Kashyyyk. Man, it had been a while since he had been there, or any planet with Silver Concord space for that matter.

But that is why he was here today. To start new, and to make things right.

After seeing each other in a plethora of meetings recently, he decided to try and ask the Sword of the Jedi himself to help him with his trial. While he didn't know the man too well, the stories of him gave a pretty good idea of what he was like. Plus, building new relationships with Jedi from the New Order could be really beneficial.

In his previous Trial Of Courage, he had defeated Darth Tesir in combat. Well, he thought he did. She finally was killed by his hand a few months after hisnpadawan left him. Both of those are what eventually made him fall to the dark side of the force once again. Only within these past few months had he been able to find his way partially back into the light. After much meditation, he decided that redoing his trials would help mend his connection to the light.

Taking a quick look at the entrance to the massive tree, it seemed as if it went down forever. He waited for Ryv to get here before he stepped foot inside of the tree, just in case he needed assistance on his trial. But still, something seemed so calm and welcoming about it...

Shaking his head he backed away from the entrance, waiting for now. Lifting himself up onto a large root he sat down and waited for the man to arrive.

Become One With All Things
A soft hum echoed from within what the locals would refer to as Ashla's Heart. The massive tree reached to the heavens, standing hundreds of feet tall. Gnarled roots twisted beneath the island's surface, parting the earth closer to the surface. Its depths were no less magnificent. The tunnel alone boasted dozens of flowers. Thick vines clung to the earthen walls, little creatures scurried along the verdant surface, foraging for food as the day began to cool. It appeared beautiful, though it lacked a certain wild touch. The foliage was trimmed. No two flowers of the same color sat side-by-side. It was neat while still being somewhat wild.

The humming grew louder with each passing second. The presence of another force-sensitive could be felt by even a novice of the ability. Both the individual and his lightsaber exuded a brilliant light within the ethereal sea. Resolve, the Sword of the Jedi's favored weapon was rumored to imbue the Jedi Knight with valor unparalleled. Numerous stories floated around the galaxy regarding the kiffar. Ryv could be described as a hero at best, polarizing more often, and a dissident at worst. Some blamed him for the growing discontent among the Jedi. Others looked to him for guidance through such trying times.

When he finally broke the surface, he raised a hand and waved Okkeus' way. His offhand clung tightly to what looked like a watering can. Rather than his typical jacket, he favored what looked like the typical robes of a Jedi Knight. Though, they didn't hang around his body. The garment appeared fitted to his frame, allowing a wide berth of movement when necessary. Both his arms were exposed, scars, tattoos, and cybernetics on full display.

"Yo," Ryv broke the silence and set the empty canister down at the foot of the tunnel's entrance. He knelt down beside a thick bush and reached inside. After a few seconds of searching, he withdrew a small bag and tugged it open. "You thirsty?"

He pulled out two bottles of a transparent substance and held one out to Okkeus. "It gets a bit hot on Tython this time of year. It'll get dark in an hour, I think, but it's not usually."
