APPEARANCE:
Thanks to his Epicanthix father, Roth has a powerful build that he owes to a mix of genetics, hard mining work, and Epicanthix traditions of readiness and physical fitness ingrained by his father. A second generation Epicanthix, Roth's features are less sharp and elongated than his father due to his mixed ancestry; in general people consider him somewhat hard and grim looking, with a rough and angular visage.
CLOTHING:
Life on Cotellier is tough, and even a platform boss and corporate owner has to dress sensibly and functionally. As such, Roth typically wears a pair of durasteel-toed rock boots, a pair of durafiber work pants, a polyweave work shirt, and a heavy synthmesh jacket with durasteel arm cops. Complete with a signature marcan cigarra and a high powered HF-94 heavy blaster at his hip, Roth could easily be mistaken as just another mining foreman or excavation boss. -
BACKSTORY:
A story as old as time; a daring thief meets an honest woman, turning the criminal honest. Such as it was for Roth's father, Jashin, a down on his luck asteroid miner from the Pacanth Reach who turned (semi-successfully) to crime. After running from the law for a previous crime, he landed at Cotellier and met his wife Maren - the rest, as they say, is history.
Roth learned all he knows about mining, minerals, and excavation operations from his father, and considers himself Cotellieri through and through. "Red in the lungs." as the saying went on Cotellier, Roth grew up on one of Cotellier's many mining platforms, excavating Nova crystals and ore for most of his life. It was only when his mother, Maren, died that she revealed that his father had died not in a mining accident as she had told him, but as a result of a bad bet in a game of chance. Winning a derelict mining platform in a game of sabacc, Jashin had gone to the platform to collect his prize - only to be gunned down by pirates who had taken the platform over.
That was a long time ago. Roth removed the pirates, with help, and used his father's chain code to claim the station as his own. So began Likon Limited, a mining and manufacturing firm started by Roth, along with a steadily growing and inevitable obsession to bring Cotellier back to the fold...by whatever means necessary.
Perhaps it is as they say; the junga fruit doesn't fall far from the tree.

STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
Obscure Alien
(+) Mental Bastion:
Epicanthix possess a powerful form of subconscious mental shielding (similar to Hutts and Toydarians, though far stronger), which makes them immune to force-assisted mental tricks, influence, domination, and mind reading. As a second generation Epicanthix whose father had the trait, Roth enjoys the benefit of this ability.
(-) Ignorant:
Of course, his father, in typical fashion, never told Roth about this particular aspect of Epicanthix genetics, or the fact the trait ran in the family. As such, Roth is completely oblivious to the face he has it. To make matters worse, Roth largely believes the force to be superstition and parlor tricks (though doesn't argue with their effectiveness).
Cyber-warrior
(+) Modded:
Roth is lightly augmented, as is typical of asteroid miners, traffic controllers, and anyone else in the galaxy with unreasonable hours and a high stress vocation. Roth's implants are largely bio-mechanical (very similar to biochips); ion and EMP may diminish and interfere, but not neutralize his implant's ability to function.
• Pain damper / Adrenal implant
A combination implant, as both are highly related to each other. These implants are designed to reduce fatigue, increase attention, and generally keep the user going far past the point of sheer physical and mental exhaustion. Further, the recovery time from fatigue is vastly shortened, and the ability to tolerate high amounts of pain is increased exponentially. (-) Limitation: No matter how fresh the mind is, the body itself always has a limit - Roth must be conscious of injuries and accumulative strain, or risk his body simply giving out. -
THREADS:
• Surviving on Seelos (complete)
After fleeing the Reach, Jashin made his way to Pantora, where an affair with a local crime boss' daughter (and the unfortunate loss of 10,000 credits worth of cargo) put a target on his back. Marooned on Seelos by Boss Lassa Rana, Jashin only escaped death on the barren planet with the help of some unlikely friends...
• Ring of Kafrene: Business (Not) as Usual (incomplete)
After surviving Seelos, Jashin finds himself on the rings of Kafrene - jobless and desperate, he takes a chance with the local Casini crime family and unknown spacer to rob a guarded freighter as it passes by a sensor scrambling nebula...
• Not All That Glitters is Kyber (complete)
After the Kafrene debacle, Jashin takes on a mysterious contract from an enigmatic employer. Teaming up with two strangers, the team begins preparing for a big heist; but it was a trap, and Jashin is forced to flee in a stolen starship before the heist can even begin.
===DEATH OF JASHIN===
Hunted and desperate, Jashin fled to the Outer Rim, hiding on the remote and forgotten world of Cotellier. There he spent the rest of his life, marrying a local Cotellier woman, and learning to appreciate hard but honest work. Habits die hard, though; winning a mining platform in a high stakes game of Sabacc, Jashin was killed when he tried to take over the platform - finding out too late that the platform was overrun by pirates, which was why it had been put up as collateral in the first place. The con man, in the end, was out conned. He was survived by his wife, Maren, and his son Roth.
