Rationale: After founding the Aegis Initiative, [member="Zeradias Mant"] began looking outwards for corporate means of expansion which would further augment their flotilla. Recognizing the name from historical text, Zeradias knew that Rothana Heavy Engineering was the company to fulfill the needs of himself and the Initiative. Having roots tying back to well before the Clone Wars, RHE already had a known name in the galaxy. Using funds he acquired from the government of Ornfra, he purchased the company for a sizable discount. He didn't just buy a company though - he bought a legacy.

Description: It's roots tracing back as far back as 800 BBY, Rothana Heavy Engineering made it's debut after the discovery of the Rothana system by Quiberon Kuat. For centuries the company has been the primary subsidiary of Kuat Drive Yards for pursuing classified projects. Given it's remote location, it was isolated from the meddling of outside influence and the hyperspace routes to the system were disclosed strictly on a need-to-know basis.
In 31 BBY, RHE was contacted by the Galactic Republic to fulfill a massive order for military vehicles. Continuing to work in secrecy, Project Icefang oversaw the design and construction of thousands of new starships, walkers, and assault craft. Delivering countless designs, only several designs such as the AT-TE, SPAT-H, and Acclamator-class assault ship saw action in the Clone Wars.
After losing their top customer with the collapse and fragmentation of the Galactic Empire in 4 ABY, Kuat Drive Yards was forced to liquidate some of their assets and sold RHE to a Coruscanti philanthropist who has since kept the business in his family for generations. However, in 844 ABY, tragedy struck and Rothana Heavy Engineering's corporate executives was struck by the Netherworld event, mysteriously disappearing. Left with subpar de facto leadership to guide it, the company was left in a dwindling state just barely staying afloat.
Enter Zeradias Mant, a naval officer with an organization dubbed the Aegis Initiative. With RHE on the brink of bankruptcy, the family which had owned the company for generation was eager to pawn their multibillion credit company on new ownership. Little did the previous ownership know, in an increasingly unstable galaxy, factions would need heavy military equipment to fuel their war machine.
