Strengths and Weaknesses:
+ Skilled survivalist. Ruek’s early life was spent in the snow-laden mountains of Jelucan where she became experienced in tracking, foraging, and other essential skills needed to survive and thrive.
+ Excellent marksman. The rifle she carries is but an extension of herself. Her training with the Empire only made her more formidable by teaching her its use in close combat and instruction in small arms.
-/+ Defiant. Ruek is stubborn and keeps to her beliefs. Tast has no influence when she’s set her mind to do something.
- Asocial. Personal relationships hold no value and she’d rather be independent than be caught in anyone’s affairs. Tast is the only one keeping Ruek thinly strung to society.
- Blind devotion. The Galactic Empire was a force which rallied against injustice and terrorist activity. To her, the Empire brought stability and organization, and gave the galaxy a chance to become unified under one banner. Nothing was better than a government which worked like a machine: Logical, steadfast, and productive.
Appreance:
Wears a green and orange jumpsuit under a white and orange heavy combat suit. A wristpad is obvious as well. Slung over her shoulder is a rag-wrapped sniper rifle. A bandolier hangs over her chest with pouches that contain at least 5 power cells, ammo, and field rations. At her hip is a canteen and slugpistol, with a one-handed vibro-ax, an energy shield, and two pouches which hold ten bacta patches.
Biography:
Ruek was born on a passenger vessel bound for the world of Jelucan in the year 28 BBY. Her father was Alderannian while her mother was an Espirion. Having moved to Jelucan to seek work in the flagstone quarries and live a simpler life (away from the galaxy’s political bustle), the last thing her parents expected was the Empire to annex their new home in 11 BBY.
Never a social individual, Ruek spent most of her time in the mountains surrounding the village her family had settled. It was there she became adept in the use of long-range rifles and basic survival techniques, employing these skills to track non-sentient creatures for fur and material. She was content with that life but grew annoyed at the disparity between second and first wave settlers. The widening gap segregated the markets and options to barter goods was limited. These matters complicated her simple routine, causing her to withdraw further from people and their village politics.
Even with her solitary lifestyle Ruek has not truly been alone. Ruek did have a twin while in the womb, but the smaller sibling was absorbed. While his body was gone, his consciousness merged with Ruek’s mind and they become a single yet mentally separate entity. The “pair” have grown up together and chatter (see: “argue”) like siblings. The only way for Ruek to talk with Tast, as he’s named, is verbal communication. Unless her helmet's comm is muted she'll be heard talking to herself often. Between the two, Tast was the child who would have been Force-sensitive. When active he is able to alert Ruek when someone else with a “voice” is nearby or when an aggressive entity is close. Their knowledge of the Force is nil, and superstitious rituals and trinkets allow them to focus on what little ability they possess.
When the Empire annexed Jelucan Ruek was seventeen. She appreciated Grand Moff Tarkin’s patriotic speech but stayed wary of the Imperial occupants. As months passed she witnessed the Empire bring a more structured way of life to both the first and second wave settlers, bridging the gap between the two social classes. This was progress Ruek could stand behind, and news of Imperial forces cleansing other worlds of criminal factions and economic strife only threw them in more favorable light. Around the age of nineteen Ruek was a loyal (yet still asocial) member of the Empire. She left Jelucan to pursue training in the Imperial Military—something which she both failed and succeeded. She and Tast can’t avoid talking forever. While good at fulfilling orders and unfailingly dedicated to the Empire, her mumbling and under-breathed replies to Tast only solidified her peer’s suspicion that Ruek was unhinged and thus unfit for service. While this caused her ejection, certain officers overlooked the “medical discharge” and instead looked at her training reports. Satisfied that she could be of use to the Empire they hired Ruek as a scout, a spy meant to locate and intermingle with Rebel cells. She is tasked to learn what she can, report her findings and, if feasible, take down the cells from the inside. Ruek is thoughtlessly devoted to the Imperial cause, even denouncing her father as a terrorist sympathizer after he mourned the destruction of Alderaan.
Previously living in 2 ABY it’s uncertain how they have come to this time. While exploring the edges of the Outer Rim the instruments of their ship blacked out before an automatic jump into hyperspace. Stuck in this bizarre future, Ruek has taken on jobs as a freelance tracker while searching for remnants of the Galactic Empire.
