SETTING INFORMATION
  • Military Base Name: Black Site Consort
  • Classification: Weapons & Components Testing Facility
  • Location:
  • Affiliation:
Formerly The Sith Empire
Currently Unaffiliated
  • Population: Uninhabited
  • Demographics: N/A
  • Accessibility:
Black Site Consort was top secret and difficult to access prior to The Battle of Mount Kadorian, but since then it has become near impossible to access due to the catastrophic changes to the mountain's geography. Entrances found on the outside of the mountain have largely collapsed or been hidden beneath stones faces created by cooled magma from the Graug triggered eruption. This same eruption caused massive shifts in the mountain tunnels that sent the bulkheads of the Sith base collapsing in on themselves - burying the base at best or drowning it in magma at worst. While the brave may find hidden entrances into the ruins of the base, they would find themselves in a labyrinth of twisted metal and collapsed hallways. Every turn could lead to a dead end and every step could trigger another collapse, burying the intruder alive and flooding yet another old tunnel with magma. The Graug themselves have chosen to cut their losses and purposely buried all entrances from the old base to their new hollows - meaning that no direct path from the base to the hollows (or vice versa) exists.
  • Description:
The ruins are an ill-preserved monument to the Sith Empire. Hallways are sharp and boxy, exemplifying the brutalist nature of the Sith Empire. Endless mazes of testing chambers, holding cells, barracks and old defensive position provide a glimpse into the twisted past of this Sith facility. A would-be adventurer or intruder may find testing facilities full of charred bones, labs with diagrams of prototype weapons and cells with the remains of prisoners who had no escape during The Battle of Mount Kadorian. The outside of the mountain face is lined massive blast doors, most of which have been buried, but once offered the facility windows for artillery cannons and other weapons that were used in the battle. The wreckage of these weapons can still be seen haunting the abandoned base.
POINTS OF INTEREST

East-Mount Artillery Zone: An abandoned defensive position that was instrumental in the defense of the facility from The Graug. The artillery zone is marked by a thirty meter long blast door has been mostly buried beneath rubble, but is one of few places where holes exist to enter the old base. During the battle the East-Mount Artillery Zone, which lays on the East side of the mountain face, single handedly held off a major Graug offensive that would have otherwise overrun the complex. During the late stages of the battle a Zygerrian Royal Guardsman (who'd fled to the mountain earlier) sacrificed himself by firing the zones artillery cannon into the roof, causing a collapse that buried several Graug and their warbeasts - allowing the escape of three transports just prior to the seismic event Warlord Skoth triggered. Adventures into this area can discover several Graug, Zygerrian and Sith military artifacts as well as signs of major battle. Graug, Zygerrian and Sith Imperial corpses are scattered throughout the rubble as are the wreckage of several weapons systems to include E-web blasters, a flak artillery cannon and infantry weapons.
Chamber C-2067: One of dozens, this testing chamber was home to the last prototype tested by The Sith prior to the Graug invasion. The prototype weapon is still buried deep in the rubble, waiting for someone to discover it...if they can make their way through the dangerous ruins to claim it at the base's center.

SECURITY
Low

The security of the facility is low as a result of the majority of the facility being destroyed. The most danger within this ruins comes from the now naturally occurring dangers, such as collapse, magma flooding or simply becoming lost in the labyrinthian hallways that have shifted so violently in the quake that any existing blueprints are little help. Despite this the facility still has active automated defenses in the form of auto turrets linked to internal batteries - allowing their activation even with the base's main generator having been destroyed.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Black Site Consort was built as a weapon's testing facility for starship components - all of which could be quickly and discreetly installed upon vessels built at the Oversight shipyard on Zygerria. Countless weapons and components tests have been attempted since the Sith occupation of the world and dozens of chambers exist in which the scars of these tests are still painted against the bare stone of the mountain's interior. The truth of facility became much darker as time carried on. Soon Sith agents began to kidnap Zygerrian dissenters and bring them to Black Site Consort for interrogation. The lucky were eventually released after days of trauma and the confusing experience of a darkside mindwipe. Most, however, would never again see the sunlight regardless of their innocence. It was regarded by many in Sith high command as being too risky to release prisoners from the complex following interrogation and to be taken to the mountain was generally a death sentence in its own right.

The most common fate for these interrogated Zygerrians was to be used as subjects in weapons tests or in safety technology tests. The best fate a prisoner could hope for in these circumstances was to be used as a test subject for a weapon that worked properly and vaporized them instantly. Others were horribly maimed repeatedly by tests conducted on them until their eventual expiration. This pattern would continue until the Graug invasion of Zygerria, at which point most of the site personnel fled the planet and it was taken over by Sith Imperial Army forces and Zygerrian Defense forces who were either stranded or made the conscious choice to stand against The Graug. For several weeks after the initial invasion the site remained unknown to The Graug, but a nearby resistance force prompted Darth Vulcanus to lead a horde into the forests surrounding Mount Kadorian. This horde eventually found the mountain and though it initially staved off Graug advances, The Great Khaan soon held war council and a plan was made.

The Graug attack was vicious and ended with only three transports escaping the planet and the mountain base being buried by a seismic event orchestrated by Warlord Skoth.
