This world was unlike the others. Clouded in shadow and darkness, the Force had seen fit to blot out the light from Nivek. How appropriate. When preparing an apprentice in the ways of the Force there was a certain amount of cliches that went into play, it seemed this would be one of them. The Winter Wind was an impressive Sail Barge. An ebony vehicle lined with gold and phrik it truly showed the refinement of the Illyrian people. The barge itself was large, yet this day it did not hold a group preparing for some lavish event. No, there were few people on the barge. Several Knights of Le Garde Des Rois stood alert on the bridge, prepared to defend their King.
The Knights wore impressive suits of power armor with silken amethyst sashes, yet they seemed to remain as still as statues with their vibroswords clenched firmly in their hands. Adron wore a fine crimson suit for the day. It was warm on the cool planet and hugged his own form effortlessly. He never seemed to be lacking in his taste of refinement, even when the matter was something as grim as this. Aside from the Illyrians, there were two who had never laid a foot on the barge.
The first was Adron's young apprentice, Adam Roywood. The young boy was adorned in a simple attire, befitting of hiking or some kind of outdoor excursion. The moment he stepped on the barge he was given a medkit, a simple blaster pistol, and a small survival pack with rope, a meal kit, and a few stims. Adron's eyes flashed over the boy, looking to him curiously. "Today you'll be starting your training." He said.
"The body is the physical vessel of the Force. Light, Dark, or otherwise it must be honed, trained, and tested." He said, putting a good deal of emphasis on the final word. "Your task today is...a diagnostic to measure the endurance of your body and the strength of your mind." He said.
"The terrain here is hard and damn near impossible to cross. The darkness is so thick you could not see your hand if it was right before your own eyes. Crossing this terrain would be impossible for many even if they had a hundred years."
"You have twenty-four hours."
"We're sitting in the middle of a mountain range that spans out for miles and miles. Most people would probably reach the half-way point in a day or so." He said, revealing the harsh reality of the terrain. "You don't have two or three days, so I'm sure you're getting the picture." He said with some amusement.
The Sail barge would slowly lower itself down towards the ground. The pilot, one of the members of Adron's guard glanced back and nodded at the King to show they'd arrived at their destination. "At the edge of the mountain range is a lake. Reach the lake and you win, we'll move on to your next lesson. However if you fail then I will leave this planet without you. You will die alone here in these mountains and no one will even remember your name." He said matter of factually.
Adron looked to his watch, humming at it before a soft smile came over his lips. "Go." The door to the sail barge swung open and Adron gestured to it. "Hurry, only twenty-three hours and fifty five seconds left. Tick tick." He said.
Once Adam moved into the horrid terrain, Adron would finally turn his eyes to Annasari . The woman had been quiet up until this point because her presence here was absolutely none of Adam's business. Not yet at least.
"Bounty hunter." He said, running a hand over his chin. "I'd like to put out a contract on that boy." He said, gesturing to the direction where Adam had disappeared into the darkness. "Let's say....two hundred thousand credits alive and five hundred thousand dead."
"Do you accept the contract?" He asked, glancing over to the woman.
