- A pleasant three-minute tune of a Mandalorian folk song (not a war chant for once!)
- A Memory from Ijaat of Keldabe before the destruction, for as long as the song recorded plays the listener(s) will find themselves immersed in the sights, sounds, smells and feelings of Keldabe as the Gar'buir knew and remembers it.
- The ability to add up to two other memories that function as the above memory of Ijaat & Keldabe
A deep ache resides in the heart of every Mando'ad. Though once, Mandalore was but another place to the nomadic people, in relatively recent years it has become akin to Corellia to her people. A cradle and beloved home, the wanderers finally settling down even more so than before. With it's cataclysmic assault on her by Ijaat & Mia, the much loved and remembered Manda'yaim will never be the same. So Ijaat sat out to find a way for those new to the people, or who missed the world as it once was, to be able to experience it thus.
Bending all his knowledge of alchemy, force imbuement, jal shey and considerable time spent studying holocrons, Ijaat made a sort of take on the legendary devices. Making it from beskar alloyed with dallorian metal and a high content of silver, it created a metal that seemed to shine with it's own light, having the weight and physical feel of beskar, but unfortunately losing much of the durability fo the fabled metal. Though some view that as a failing, the Iron Father left the 'flaw' inherent in his creation, viewing it as a stunning commentary closely tied to the missive of the device.
Consulting with well-known fellow smith, and Mandalorian Alor and musician, [member="Funky Balor"], Ijaat selected a peaceful and serene tune from the annals of his people's history, a song that's meaning was lost to time, as were the words, but which evoked happy memories of times gone by and times to come. Though, with effort, one could change the song. The recording of the default song is done by none other than Funky himself, at the behest of Ijaat.
The primary function of the creation is a sort of escape from reality. Simply wind up the mechanism, and the song will begin to play. The longer the listener focuses, the more enthralling and realistic the memory-vision will become, and towards the end of the three minute song, one can touch objects in the vision and almost feel their texture and weight, and interact with a person if the memory is of that person. There is, sadly, no ability to make this memory world permanent, and too frequent use may cause severe depression, and symptoms similar to addiction, depending on the memories visited.
Each Runi Tome'tayl has a singular memory of Keldabe before the cataclysm imbued by default, and the ability to be imbued with two other memories. To imbue the memory, a Force User must be present to do the process, which is why Ijaat offers to add the memories to the curio before giving it out. The more skilled in Force Imbuement or Psychometry the imbuer is, the more clarity and immersiveness the memory projection will achieve.
It is no great weapon of war or object of power. Merely a fond remembrance, and an echo of regret, of an old man to the world that made him.
Strengths:
- Immersive: While listening to the music, those who focus on it will be transported within their own mind to a vision of a time and place before the Cataclysm of Mandalore, or wherever else the device has absorbed a memory of.
- Fragile: The Runi Tome'tayl is quite fragile. Anything from a barrage of Force Light to simply being dashed to the wall will break it.
- Force dependent: You need to be a Force User to add or change memories. For anyone else, it is simply a viewer. Device cannot function in null fields, and will eventually fall into disrepair or be ruined if left for too long cut off from the Force.
