SPECIAL FEATURES
- Crushgaunt grip
- Materials: Offers heavy duty protection versus kinetic and blasters, with further reinforcement to protect against electromagnetic pulses and ion energy. Micronised beskar weave lining provides added protection in the palm.
- Super Grip: Utilizing technology pioneered by the Mandalorian crushgaunt, this model can exert an exceptionally powerful grip.
- Sensitivity: Only provides tactile sensation and only from the hand of the model.
- Heavy: The components and materials used in the construction of this arm make it somewhat heavier than its flesh and blood counterpart. This has a knock on effect on balance.
- Questionable Legality: For understandable reasons, crushgaunts have been known to be banned on certain planets.
- Overt Design: There’s no attempt to hide that the cybernetic nature of this limb. You could probably try to hide it from view with long sleeves and a glove, but that’s about it.
Following her ill-fated duel with Ronan Vizsla during the Mandalorian Empire’s invasion of Utapau, Runi found herself in need of a more durable replacement for her damaged cybernetic arm. Reinforced Duraplast was selected due to his high resistances against slugthrowers, blasters, and good old fashioned kinetic impact. The fact it also provides decent protection against the effects of EMP/Ion weaponry was a welcome bonus. The hand was constructed with inspiration drawn from Mandalorian crushgaunts, possessing a similarly powerful grip with a micronised beskar weave woven in the palm to offer further protection.
To help avoid exasperating the nerve damage already acquired from the installation of her previous arm, the new model only provides on an extremely limited sense of tactile feedback. As these sensors are only arrayed in the hand of the model, primarily in the palm, there is a notable sensory dead zone extending from her shoulder to wrist.
Overall the arm is very spartan and utilitarian in both appearance and design.
