Runnin' Round, Leaving Scars

Unknown Planet
Cantina
---------------------

One, two, three, one, two, three, drink.

Emma'd ordered a little glass of an alcoholic drink. Its name or type didn't matter to her. All that had any meaning was that it was alcohol -- something which can ease her pain. And even though pain was nothing to her, she still didn't like the feeling it brought. And the memories which came along with that.

'Cause I'm only human.

She was in a place where she'd never been before. She didn't even know what planet she was on. All that she did know was the fact that she was supposed to meet somebody there. Somebody who would help her at training. Training to stand against those who have ill meanings.

I've learned to live half alive.

Combat. It was combat. She didn't care about other's feelings anymore. She could easily tear somebody's life apart if she had to, without feeling any kind of irritation inside.

She was a monster.

Cantina
---------------------
Lurcano strode into the Cantina, dressed in his usual attire consisting of tight combat pants, a leather jerkin, and his combat boots. His eyes surveyed the contents of whatever inconsequential Cantina he was in. 'Wow, that's how you know chit's really hit the fan. Fights in the fight club have been getting so rare, I've got to take a job to train some rich boys whelp so I can actually get some action around here.' This was going to be his first time ever 'training' someone for combat, so he would be learning with the student.

The only thing he'd knew about the person who had contacted him was that it was a human; 'And I suppose I can be thankful for that. Imagine spending multiple hours in the same room with an Ithorian? Ugh. Disgusting.' Although at first, one might think that on a planet as large as Nar Shaddaa; it'd be difficult to pick out one person knowing only their species. But luckily the Cantina that his "client" had picked out was a backwater one, even by Nar Shaddaa standards. It was sparsely populated and the occupants that occupied the Cantina were mostly aliens hiding from some bounty or another.

His eyes full upon the only human in the entire Cantina, and Lurcano had to admit that he was surprised. Situated towards the back of the room, downing shots like she was a gungan out of water was a rather attractive young woman who Lurcano could only assume was his client. 'Now that. Is a surprise.' Unsure over whether or not these recent developments were a good thing or a bad thing, Lurcano decided he would take just go with it. He walked over and took a seat next to the woman and ordered a drink. 'At least she's an alcoholic. Now I know she won't mind me drinking on the job.' As he waited for his drink, he leaned against the side counter of the bar to face the girl and said;

Lurcano Car'dann: "So you're the person I'm supposed to be training huh? What's your name? Why did you hire me? And why are you getting drunk before a fight? Do you like losing?"

Ugh. The teacher seemed to have arrived. Emma had to talk again. That was something she was not the best at, especially if she had to have a conversation with a stranger she knew nothing about.

"I'm Emma. I want to learn how to fight. I just want to erase pain."

Short answers were typically the best. They both took away the discomfort of talking from Emma and didn't use too much of other people's time. So... profit.

"I don't like losing."

She put away the glass and tried to look into the eyes of the man. It was difficult -- she only managed to keep her eyes on them for a few seconds. But that must have been enough for a beginning, she thought.

The teacher didn't have the disabilities she had. Probably.

She could have never been to sure about that, though.

Emma Norewood: "I'm Emma. I want to learn how to fight. I just want to erase pain. I don't like losing."

Lurcano Car'dann: Lurcano resisted the urge to let out a sigh, but he was unsure over whether or not he managed to stop his frustration from becoming apparent on his face. 'Oh god. At this rate, I meant just begin to start preferring the blasted Ithorian. At least they can carry out a basic conversation..."You are obviously one of many words. Such statements like that, I do not know how we can not succeed in this mission of yours. Well, let's get started I suppose."

Lurcano downed the drink that the bartender had brought him and pushed himself off the stool. He took a few steps before turning to face her. He motioned for her to follow him, a patronizing look on his face. He then turned and moved to head out of the Cantina, heading towards the location which they would be commencing their training.

Kark, the man looked like he didn't quite like the fact that she didn't talk much. But her anxiety didn't let her respond to his speech. Maybe later when they're a little bit more familiar with each other. People didn't seem to like talking to those who had a hard time at responding. It probably had to do something with the fact that most people were extroverts.

And Emma followed the man. Even though every step she took was just like she was going to slip and fall down.

Thank god she was unable to see herself. It would have resulted in a huge panic attack if she had known how she was moving. It was like a mixture of being drunk, stoned, and most likely pregnant.

Not a good combination.

Lurcano continued walking, ignoring the obviously drunk state she was in. 'That's fine. I can just beat it out of her. And anyway, even if she is daft. Hot is hot. I can always have some fun after this if I play my cards right.' After several minutes of walking, they arrived at what looked to be a rather downtrodden building that had been forgotten. It looked inconsequentially small when compared to the massive sky scrapers that made up the Nar Shaddaa streets and sky line.

Lurcano pushed the door open, and entered. Seemingly right at home. Upon entering, one would see a dimly lit room with some ramshackle spectators stands on each side of what looked to be a null-hockey pit that had been stripped completely and replaced with tightly packed in dirt that had long ago dried up. Lurcano hopped the wall that divided the fighting ring from the stands. He turned to look at Emma as he stretched his weary muscles.

Lurcano Car'dann: "You ready?"

The place was interesting. The room at least seemed rather large, which was great, seeing how the girl was claustrophobic. So far, everything seemed to work out for her. Besides the one little detail -- she had to fight. Yes, she had become quite good at running away from people and making maneuvers, but that was it. No real combat skills.

"I think I am."

She doubted in herself. A little bit more than she should have. But she had nothing to do against that. She had a mental problem. Looking at the man getting ready, doing his things, she tried to come up with what he was about to do. Yet her thoughts were not clear. No. They were faded, deluded. And she could only think of the fear of fighting.

Emma Norewood: "I think I am."

Lurcano just nodded his head, as he finished up his stretching. He watched as she shambled into the ring and he couldn't help but pity her. 'What the hell was this broad thinking?' He shrugged his shoulders and raised his fists, albeit half halfheartedly. 'If she wants to learn how to fight, I can definitely teach her that. She just needs to survive long enough to be able to learn what I have to teach her. We might as well start now; though I'm going to have to change how I go about this. She's even more clueless then I would've thought.'

Lurcano Car'dann: He lowered his fists and moved towards her sighing. "Alright, to start off this is what we're going to do. You're going to swing at me. Swing as much as you can, however you want. Your only goal is to hit me. Got it? Sound simple enough?"

[member="Emma Norewood"]

Emma nodded.

And then waited a moment. Waited to go for the man with a quick movement so that he wouldn't have too much time to react. But no matter what, he would react to her movement. The gap between the two was not that small. The man had plenty of time to block or avoid the hit.

She tried, nonetheless.

With a swift movement, Emma moved closer to the man in a few steps and then tried to hit him with her fisted right hand. Whether it would hit the man or not, she would see.

But the rising adrenaline didn't let her worry about that anymore. All that she could think was attacking, attacking, attacking.

Lurcano watched as Emma stood silently, obviously considering her plan for attack. Emma throwing a quick wide right to start off the fight. It was expected really. Ninety percent of the population was right handed, and it was always a good idea to feel your opponent out before committing to anything more. A good tactic, but not when you were fighting against someone who'd been fighting to eat for over ten years in the fighting pits on Nar Shaddaa.

A second before it was to late, Lurcano took a step forward and leaned inside the wide arc of the punch. It would fly past his head, and Lurcnao would immediately back up once more, his feet moving; though they moved rather awkwardly. 'Maybe this wasn't the smartest idea. It's not like I'm the best boxer out there on Nar Shaddaa and she's suddenly looking a lot less dead then before. It would figure I'd get the only person who'd actually try to hustle me before a training fight. To late to go back now.

He simply waited, both his arms up and ready to keep moving. The drill was more meant to judge the girls speed, the power of her punches, and her sense for combat. What parts of her body she left open, how she swung. All valuable information to know. The hard part is not getting your head caved in while you try to get this information.

Ugh. It was more difficult than Emma had thought it would be. She stood for a moment to regain her focus after she had missed the previous hit and tried to actually think how to approach the man again. She could see he was not a newbie fighter, so he obviously knew what to do against most of the attacks she could come up with.

The wrecked girl turned to the man and started running again. This time she would use her feet which weren't too experienced at fighting but which had provided her a good skill in agility. She'd find out whether they were useful for anything else too or not.

As soon as she was close enough, she tried to jump a little bit into the air and deal a kick into the man's stomach with her foot. Which was pretty interesting to look at because the woman was no ninja so she had a hard time at actually doing what she had planned to.

"Kark you, I won't do what you tell me."
Lurcano watched, his apprehension turning into bemusement in an instant as Emma rushed him. 'Nevermind, things are starting to look a lot safer then usual now.' With popular movies and T.V Shows coming out all over the crypt net these days, many people had a diluted sense of what combat was really like. The flying kicks and knees thrown out regularly in those shows could be effective if they were used by the right person against an inexperienced opponent. And one hit from any of those blows was certainly enough to send even the most accomplished man reeling from their sheer power and ferocity.

Sadly, neither of those criteria fit the situation. Emma was not the right person, and Lurcano wasn't the inexperienced gang member more commonly seen. He stepped back as Emma rushed him, expecting either a kick or a punch. His suspicions were confirmed as Emma launched herself into the air. She sailed forward and Lurcano merely stepped to the side as she sailed on by. She would land on her ass and to drive the point home; Lurcano would stomp his steel toed combat boots right beside her head. A large noise resounding all across the arena.

Lurcano Car'dann: Backing away quickly in case any other aggression might come from the now prone Emma, Lurcano shouted out to her and said, "Don't do stupid chit like that when; A. You can't pull it off, and B. You're fighting someone who actually knows what they're doing. Your tight little ass getting bruised up should be enough evidence that it's a bad idea. If not, imagine my boot crashing down on your skull. Now pick yourself up and hit me. This is starting to get pitiful."
