HISTORYEarly Life in the High Republic Era
Born during the golden age of the High Republic, Rylo was discovered as a Force-sensitive infant on a remote world. Like others of his kind, his origins were mysterious, but his potential was undeniable. Raised in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, Rylo grew into a devoted and compassionate Padawan, known for his sharp mind and quiet demeanor. His light tan skin and piercing blue eyes made him stand out among his peers, but it was his natural affinity for connecting with others—both sentient beings and the Force—that marked him as a promising Jedi.
Under the mentorship of Master Saverok Barcu, a Gen'dai Jedi Master, Rylo was taught the importance of diplomacy, empathy, and creative problem-solving. Though skilled with a lightsaber, he was often reminded that a Jedi's strength lies in preventing conflict rather than engaging in it. As was reflected by the Jedi code and his master own philosophical beliefs. By the time he reached the rank of Jedi Knight, he had developed a reputation as a beacon of calm in turbulent situations.
The Mission to GN47-2
Newly knighted, Rylo was eager to prove himself as a capable Jedi. His first solo mission came unexpectedly: reports from uncharted space described a planetary crisis on a world designated only as GN47-2. A previously unknown species was facing catastrophe, and initial incoming transmissions suggested a planetary destabilization with unknown cause. With his talent for problem-solving and connection, Rylo was dispatched to investigate and assist where possible. Upon arriving at GN47-2, Rylo quickly realized the severity of the situation. The planet's surface was a tapestry of geological chaos: earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and massive tidal waves plagued its cities. The local species, the Rhaelian, were humanoid with crystalline skin and bioluminescent patterns, their civilization advanced but not spacefaring.
Through the Force, Rylo sensed a profound fear emanating from the Rhaelian people. Using his diplomatic training, he forged a connection with their leaders, who revealed that the planet and its moon had been caught in the gravitational pull of a distant collapsed star—a black hole. The two celestial bodies were slowly being drawn into oblivion, destabilizing the planet's orbit and making survival impossible.
Leading the Evacuations
Rylo immediately called for assistance from the Jedi Order and the Republic, but the nearest fleet was a week away. Left with no choice, he took command of the situation, coordinating with the Rhaelians to begin evacuations. Using their limited technology, he helped them construct makeshift transport ships, focusing on saving as many lives as possible. For weeks, Rylo worked tirelessly, his connection to the Force providing him strength as he guided terrified Rhaelian families to safety. His compassion and calm leadership earned him the trust of the people, and his bravery inspired them to keep moving despite the odds.
Trapped on GN47-2's Moon
While escorting a group of transports to orbit, Rylo's starship encountered a sudden ion storm. The storm disabled his systems, forcing him to make an emergency landing on GN47-2's moon, which was also being pulled toward the black hole. Stranded on the barren satellite, Rylo was faced with survival in an environment that defied reason. The moon was a place of strange and haunting beauty. Technological as the main world but also ancient. As it fell deeper into the black hole's gravity well, He witnessed impossible phenomena:
Stars spiraled across the sky in erratic patterns.
Rocks floated upward as gravity shifted unpredictably.
Shadows moved without light sources, and whispers echoed through the Force, as if the black hole itself was calling out to him. For 7 days, Rylo endured the moon's bizarre environment, relying on his training and the Force to survive. He scavenged parts for his damaged ship and used his ingenuity to repair it, all while grappling with the surreal effects of the moon's proximity to the collapsed star.
The Escape and the Shock of the Future
At last, Rylo managed to escape the moon, piloting his repaired ship he took notice of GN47-2. The planet's surface unrecognizable, consumed and void of life. A abnormality that defiled the time span he had previously thought possible. With no other options, he plotted a hyperspace jump back to Republic space, hoping to reunite with the Jedi Order. But when Rylo emerged from hyperspace, he discovered a galaxy unrecognizable. Time dilation from the black hole had flung him far into the future—nearly 1,200 years had passed. The golden age of the High Republic was gone, and the galaxy was now in a Era of Chaos: 900 ABY. The names of his mentors, his friends, and the Rhaelian civilization he had tried to save were now long lost to history. Stricken with grief and an overwhelming sense of isolation, Rylo was faced with a galaxy that had moved on without him.
