Ryu's father was a business partner of high ranking members of the Diarchy, Ryu's father wanted to make sure his son was strong and could defend his interests and become his enforcer. Ryu however would spend all his life in the Diarchy, training under Darth Reign and his associates. He would live with his needs met, with some of the finest food and bedding known to the galaxy, but he found himself suffering great mental and physical anguish as he tapped into the dark side. Once he became an apprentice, he was allowed to go back home where Ryu returned to his estranged family. The relation between father and son was amicable at best. Ryu would learn a lot about the business world, learning how manipulative and sleazy people could be, and Ryu did everything he could to play others. He preferred being a sith however, so when he reached his 20's and he kept a distant relationship with his father to focus solely on his ascension in the dark side of the force.
