- The SA-1 Redmaw Starfighter has improved weapon systems, such as the Valefor Laser Cannon and the Shiva Ion Cannon, along with two variable missile launchers to give it higher firepower than other fighters marketed towards planetary and corporate defense forces. Due to the Aeon Series weaponry, pilots also have increased versatility in handling targets and opponents.
- Much like the ancient T-6 Shuttle, the cockpit of the SA-1 is mounted on a gyroscopic engine block that allows the wings of the starfighter to rotate around it. This gives the pilot a greater field of fire than usual along with the ability to rotate the wings to avoid enemy fire by changing the fighter's profile.
- If the Ramuh-II power core's preservation field capsule fails or the device is sabotaged, the crystal within sublimated immediately into its plasma state, reducing the power output of the device by roughly half until a new crystal capsule is installed.
- If the gyrostabilizing system of the fighter is damaged, or if the wings become damaged or destroyed, it can have a significant impact on the fighter's maneuverability.
Developed as part of Aurora Industries' Highwind Program within its Strahl Subproject, the SA-1 Redmaw Starfighter was designed to by the company's answer for a cheaper starfighter marketed towards local planetary defense forces and corporate security forces. Foregoing some of the new technologies and systems developed or provided by partners for the fighter, the design team instead focused on making sure the fighter had plenty of firepower for its size. Four Valefor Laser Cannons were installed onto the wings of the fighter, while a Shiva Ion Cannon and two variable missile launchers were installed onto the fuselage of the fighter, giving it higher stopping power and versatility than standard weapons found on other starfighters.
The design team still wanted to make the fighter unique and going off stories of the old T-6 Shuttles along with the B-Wing starfighters, they also designed the SA-1 Redmaw's cockpit and engine block to be mounted on a gyroscopic system. This allowed the wings of the starfighter to rotate around the fighter, while leaving the cockpit stable for the pilot and giving them both an increased ability to dodge enemy fire by changing the ship's profile and enhancing its firing field.
