Special Features
Hyper-velocity Bolts - When fired, the bolts travel down a barrel of electromagnets, accelerating them to unrivalled speeds and providing immense penetration power
Strengths
Rapid-Fire - The Flurry fires powerful bolts at a very, very fast rate
Hard-Hitter - Compared to most fast-firing artillery, through the use of powerful electromagnets the Flurry fires bolts at immense speed
Hidden - When not in use, the Flurry lowers itself into the hull of the ship and is covered by a Frasium and Durasteel port-cover.
Weaknesses
Short-Lived - The extreme fire rate means that the Flurry will be in operation for a comparatively short time.
Core-Overheat - The barrels themselves are not at risk of overheating due to the use of Electromagnets. But the rapid heating and movement of gases in the core of the Flurry may lead to critical overheating that destroys the entire weapon.
Description
The Flurry is a specially built offensive armament for use by The Cassus Cabal. The Flurry fires powerful bolts at an immense rate of fire, but only doing so in short bursts of 4 seconds. Sustained fire could lead to a core-overheat that could destroy the entire system.
Primarily using Tibanna Gas for ammo, the Flurry accelerates its bolts down Electromagnet Barrels that propel the bolts to a percentage of lightspeed, providing very high penetration power. Once out of ammo, the Flurry draws on a tiny percentage of a ship's Antimatter Reactor for ammo.
Designed to be discreet until needed, the Flurry sits within the hull of the ship under a Frasium and Durasteel cover, only surfacing when in combat.
