Saber combat, anyone? :)

Hello all,

I was curious if there were any combat masters of force alligned orders on the board willing to take up the tedious task of trying to teach a rogue of soresu dueling, and maybe combat?

I will state this: I have tried to learn it in the past, it is very difficult for me since I have no formal weapons training irl so I have absolutely no past experience with it. It is very difficult for me to comprehend and learn, so you might have a very difficult time teaching me.

But I am not willing to give up on this dream I have to one day be seen as a capable saber duelist, and combatant via rp. I hope there is someone who is proficient enough in it to teach an unruly padawan with a serious bloodlust to wield soresu and a shoto effectively enough to duel, and support her allies in combat. :)

Thank you all for reading my rambling, and thank you to those who might reply. :) appreciate it.

You have past experience with it?

and yes I know, dumb blond question. :p just wanted to ask since your character says Padawan, and I aint gunna look at your list of alts to see if there are any masters, or knights listed lol.

Literally wrote the datacron entry on it for my clan, but Bond down there also looks like a good option seeing as he's a Knight...although he's also a Sith so that might complicate things.

I'm already well versed in it, but thanks.

Sorry if I seem skeptical and don't take your word at point value :p

Hmm..decisions decisions.

Ya know, this is curious.. anyway either of you got like a thread referencing your skill with it? I don't mean to be picky here, just a little.. idk what the word that is more appropriate to be used here is. :D

Hm...not really. Venris only recently acquired a new lightsaber, the only thing I could link you to is the datacron training entry I submitted to my faction that explains the details of Soresu and some of the basic moves of it.

Uhm.. I dont think that would work, I mean I have no access to your faction, so unsure if I could see that.

But sure, lets try this out.. and due to legends/canon reference I am sure you both could train me in it.

if thats alright?

Whenever you wish. ^_^ Either you can make a thread, or I can. It should also show how Venris and Mallory meet, and I may have an idea for how that can happen while letting us get into training quickly unless you have something in mind already.

Venris often explores abandoned temples and ruins in search of knowledge, and often ends up camping out at some. Maybe he could run into Mal during one such expedition and, after a brief face off and conversation, they could either be attacked by some group (maybe treasure hunters, or some Hutt mercenaries sent after Venris, etc) and work together to fend it off, during which Venris uses Soresu to deflect numerous blasts and Mal could take interest in this; or Venris could challenge Mal to a friendly spar and, after some dialogue, could agree to teach her what he knows of Soresu.

Oh, I forgot to reply to that:

I meant Ataru or Makashi, which are Bond's main forms with that huge-handled lightsaber he has. Plus, it's good for both of 'em to practice, huh?

Shoot whatever specifics you like into that other convo we have going.

One flaw, Ivy is naturally interested in it.. her facination stemmed from hearing word of mouth about some hermit jedi master being a total badass with it.

(and yea, this is an Obi-wan reference)
