Safe Harbor Orphanage

ALL SAFE HARBOR SITES HAVE BEEN INDEFINITELY SUSPENDED PENDING A POLICE INVESTIGATION INTO MASS HOMICIDE OF ORPHANS
"THE FORCE SHALL SET ME FREE"
Who Are We: A non-profit organization funded by proceeds from Herglic Haute-Couture and other donors. The orphanage is staffed entirely by loyal members of the One Sith with a substantial background check process to ensure that none of them have been involved in heinous crimes.

Where are We: For now the manor skyrise is situated with a scenic water-front property by Coruscant's Western Sea. It includes a cafeteria, dormitories, and a school house. However, the Headmaster is seeking to expand the building to include gardens and a gym.

What is Our Mission: To collect the orphaned youth of galactic war and poverty and provide a welcome home for them as well as an education.

Safe Harbor Orphanage is requesting donations, anonymous or purblic. The Marketplace will provides the perfect opportunity to request such donations.
Donor Awards:
  • 10,000 credits: Hand Knit Mittens, name engraved on front entrance flagstones
  • 100,000 credits: Mittens and a plaque on the Friends of the Children wall
  • 1,000,000+: A portrait hanging in the Hall of the Healers commemorating generosity.

Of course, if you would rather not donate and leave the children destitute, homeless, and uneducated, that’s fine too.

And here's a quote from our doctor, [member="Valik"] "Furthermore, if you'd like to give a child a home we'd love to let you tour the place and see the kids. We do charge a small adoption fee in order to maintain upkeep of facilities and ensure the greatest quality of our unadopted children. And we will perform a background check to make sure that our kids are going to a good home. But the processes are swift, and we are willing to work with low-income couples who wish to adopt. Overall, we just really wish the children to have a better home, whether it be loved by a new set of parents or here at Safe Harbor."

  • 500,000 fee to adopt 1 child. You will be investigated thoroughly.

OOC: the children are enhanced by a diet of leviathan meat, with increased strength, speed, and awareness and will continue to be so as long as they eat the spam. They are trained in martial combat, much like the Jedi trains its younglings. Furthermore, one of the Dark Lord's vessels visits once every month and grants Force Powers to a few promising students who wish to join the One Sith. Children ages 14 and above are considered adults by Coruscant law and are free to leave, if they wish, though a career in the One Sith is open to them. /OOC

All donated proceeds go directly to the orphanage. Anyone caught embezzling funds will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

A group of people cam in from Krayt Industries, with over size novelty check. Each of them where employee of the month for their department. As part of their reward, they got to go on this outing followed by company meal with their families. Darth Banshee then hand over the novelty check, and told [member="Hion the Herglic"] I am proud to give you this check on behalf of the employees of krayt Industries, who have tirelessly done charity events to raise this money for you one and half million credits.
She wonder if her old master [member="Rexus Drath"], would ever realize he wrong about The One Sith

Damien walked into the orphanage, knowing full well that Orcus ran it, and may recognize him. However, Damien felt this was something he needed to do. Reaching out to the whale like...thing, he held a folded piece of legal size paper. Once opened, it would be noted that it was a signed contract, promising a healthy 150 k every month for as long as Damien was alive. It was noted however, that only the children received it. Not the Orphanage. If they wanted something, he wanted them to have it.

A follow through item was held out, an envelope with said credits, "I dont get why you're doing this..but its a good cause. And I genuinely respect that." With that, he left.

(OOC: Dude love the idea. The orphanage itself is a great idea, and then with the secret intent? Awesome *slow clap*)

Orcus accepted the note. "I am a necessary evil, as is war," he replied, "I give back to the galaxy to balance the scales of what I took. In time, I hope we will have galactic peace. Then you will understand."

Damien Daemon's portrait as well as Sabrina's were soon hanging in the Hall of the Healers.

[member="D-Man"], 150,000 every month for the rest of Damien's life, to be used only for the orphans. Noted in the bookings. The orphans thank you. I thank you. Transaction approved.

Valik

Professor of Alchemy
Valik wasn't one to donate to the children. He believed that the Oprhans would grow stronger in their natural homeless and parent-less environments, learning to fend for themselves. However, an orphanage raised entirely by the One Sith? That had promise. Any Sith worth their weight in salt knew that this sort of an operation had immense promise, and Valik decided he wanted a slice.

So, he got on his terminal, sliced himself a new identity, "Leonard McCoy." After adding a few degrees from prestigious universities and hacking old news reports speaking to his accomplishmetshe sent a letter to "[member="Hion the Herglic"]", or Darth Orcus.

Hello, my name is Leonard McCoy and I really support the Safe Harbor Oprhanage program and think it's great process. I was going to set up a donation plan, but instead I think I'd like to apply for a job as one of the doctors of the orphanage and let my 'salary' be a donation to the orphanage. Attached to this holomail you'll find my resume enclosed, as well as my contact information. If this doesn't work out I'd love to set up a donation plan, but otherwise I"ll hope to see you soon.

Cordially
Leonard "Bones" McCoy

Leonard "Bones" McCoy was investigated thoroughly. Unfortunately, Orcus' hackers were not as skilled as the Sith Lord of Science. Thus, Orcus was unaware as he typed up his reply that he was about to hire a psychopath.

"Salutations Dr. McCoy,

I have received your h-mail and I congratulate you on your new position as the board has decided to hire you. I believe you will make a fine addition to the team. You start in two weeks. We will discuss this in detail once you arrive.

All the best,
-Orcus."

An anonymous donation.

Many reports would cross her desk, reports on the state of the Galaxy and the incursion of the Sith. And there would always be news from Coruscant. One piece of news, however, caught her attention. An Orphanage for the children of the Republic, a place for the victims of war. One of the many evils of war is the displacement of children now without parents to protect them and nurture them. Iella only had little information on this, but what she did have set her mind to race. As far as she is concerned the peoples of Coruscant should not be forgotten by the Jedi, they may not be there now, but to simply disregards them, especially the children would be unjedi like. There is of course a moral complexity in sending a donation to the Sith to help with the Orphanage .. help the Sith in recruiting? Iella had no doubt this was the hidden agenda, but to do nothing? Even if anonymously she could not rest well knowing these Children are in need.

She made her decision. Through a series of communications to an old friend from her smuggling days, long before she even joined the CIS. She arranged for a large quantity of bedding and medical supplies to the shipped to Coruscant. Nothing from the coffers of the Silver Jedi but from her own means, credits transferred to her friend with instructions to purchase the supplies and to keep the deliver low key. There would be no trace of the good back to her or the Silver Jedi.

The orphaned children of the Republic would now sleep warm, if .. if they are to be recruited and become agents of the darkside … maybe, just maybe one will find out that when all was lost, when darkness of the loss of their families had come upon them, a Jedi had thought of them. That it was the act of a Jedi that kept the cold from them.

The path of redemption is always open to those that seek it, no man, woman or child walks the galaxy without the chance to find it.

The delivery was made and on the door step of the Orphanage sat crates of supplies with only a note attached with three words.

A slip arrives in the mail, half a million dollars, with the instructions to keep a male child waiting and ready the following morning. Damien had made some plans. [member="Hion the Herglic"]

Orcus stared at the anonymous donation of medical supplies before wiping away a tear of happiness with a large flipper. The people of the galaxy could be so kind, it gave him hope.

[member="Iella E'ron"]

The money was returned to the sender almost immediately. "I'm sorry, Mr. Daemon, but we do not accept dollars. Only galactic credits will do."

(FAILURE OF THE WEEK)

Weeks later, after berating his banker over what the hell dollars were and why they were included in his message, the afore mentioned amount returned once more - in creds.

[member="Hion the Herglic"]

The Spymaster had seen many things, but this... this was surprising. Sith running an orphanage? It seemed impossible. In the Bothan's mind, it seemed to be that this was fake. But no matter. These were children who had lives like his had started, but the Sith, rather than the Spynet, guided their lives. In the end, they could be powerful allies, or opponents, depending on how the cards played. But something struck him.
He wanted a chance to pass on what he knew. His son and daughter were gone, as was his wife, but a child of the Street... He could see that. Perhaps, if he could pass the check, perhaps there may be a chance for him to have the son he never got the chance to raise.
[member="Hion the Herglic"] would recieve the 500,000 credit adoption fee, but the Spymaster would track what it was spent on. No one ever died from being to careful, after all.

Yet again, after a time of over 6 years had passed, another half a million creds were delivered to the orphanage. All with the explicit intentions of being used upon the same male adoptee as before.

[member="Hion the Herglic"]

1 million credits.
2 tons of durasteel courtesy of SocMin Fed for more orphanages.
4 tons of food goods (don't look too close at the transponders, pirated courtesy of Justice Shipping)
1/2 ton of clothing (also pirated.....)

Always a pleasure to assist the orphans.

Update to all concerned parties:

Due to the actions detailed in the following link, the orphanage has been burned down and all remaining orphans not removed from Coruscant after Orcus' departure were murdered by an as-yet unknown party of assailants. Investigation is ongoing. Lord Orcus will be conducting a memorial in remembrance of those whose lives were stolen from them. Please send all donations to his address on Cloud Nine.
