  • Force Imbued Durindfire Crystal - A traditional crystal for a Corellian Jedi, it does nothing more than give the blade it's blindingly silver color, and when used against Dark Side Spirits or Constructs/Sithspawn, causes more pain than normal, or temporarily dispels or disrupts the Spirit
  • Soul Diamond - Made in the traditional Corellian manner, this Soul Diamond is formed of the ashes of Julius' family. At current it has been cut and polished to serve as a focusing crystal for a Lightsaber. Only he can ignite the saber due to the minor imbuements worked upon it.
  • Dantari Crystal – A crystal found in the kinrath eggs on Dantooine, allows the user a better focus on recovering spent Force energy, and reduce combat Force fatigue.
  • Corellian Bloodsteel - Made as a sentimental reminder of his heritage and home, the bloodsteel of this lightsaber is bright crimson & electrum, an astoundingly sturdy and elegant piece.
Description:

This blade was a long, long time in the making, and it's specialized features were an attempt by Julius over the time of his seeking of mastery of his chosen forms of combat to utilize the various styles and talents he had learned – from Echani dueling techniques to the Jar'Kai traditions from Atrisia and even knowledge gleaned from treatisies on the Knights of Zakuul and Jedi Temple Guardians and Matukai and more including the Aing-Tii themselves..

There were certainly other knowledge sources and training undergone, but Julius opted to leave them out from this particular saber, as personal preference and ideals ensured that while he may have studied the uses of a shoto or guard shoto, he typically refrained from their use in day to day operations and combat. As well, though he possessed a briefly passing familiarity with light whips, enough to not injure himself when using them... The technical constraints of making one included into this saber was beyond his ability, and so that specialized weapon was also left out. A saber-staff was decided against because of the extra concentration it would take to wield without injuring himself in the process with his blended style of Juyo and Makashi.
Sahsahlah was what he had decided to name the lightsaber in Olys Corellisi(Old Corellian), which translated roughly to 'the place of wise fools'. The phrase was used in conversations when opinions differ and one party wants to indicate that the other will not get their way. It's use in naming his saber by Julius signified that, when it was drawn and ignited, a difference of opinion had grown to such a state combat was to him the only logical conclusion. And, in combat fueled resolutions to opinion differentiation, Julius won often enough to make the name a rather amusing irony.

The casing of the saber was done in Corellian Bloodsteel, a bittersweer memento and reminder of heritage for the Green Jedi. The thematics of the weapon are quite simple and traditionally made, red bared Corellian bloodsteel covered in a white enamel and electrum. Overall this weapon is quite light and slender, but sturdy and strong as the Nine Hells of Corellia due to the bloodsteel forming the shell of the saber. The weight and balance lend themselves impressively to Julius' fast and laser precise form of combat he prefers to engage in.

An improvement utilizing part of the Dantari Crystal, is the minor benefit of reducing usage of combat fatigue and recovery of Force Usage. Particularly for a Master of Juyo and Fighting Sight, the reduction to fatigue and boon to recovery of the crystal are immeasurable in their aid to him. Often in battle Julius will need to 'burn hot' in order to win fights and maintain an edge, and anything that can increase his time in that state and in the right mind frame to use his abilities is something he must see to if able.

As a sign of master crafting, Julius attempted and succeeded at using three crystals to focus and color his blade. The aforementioned Dantari Crystal, and two others. The first of the remaining pair was a Soul Diamond made of the ashes of Julius' brother and parents, a memento of his slain family he recovered on a raid of the former estates. Time spent in meditation with it, and in the process of forming a bond with it, had the pecuilar effect of allowing the saber to work only for he himself.

Last but not least of the trio, was a further touch of tradition, both in color and origin. A singular durindfire crystal, painstakingly cut and focused with his own hand and mind, giving the lightsaber a blindingly silver blade that was the hallmark for all history of the Corellian or Green Jedi movement. From Corran Horn to Halcyon and others, the silver bladed lightsaber was synonymous with the Corellian people in terms of Jedi. Or the Imperial Knights, though their blades had a white tinge, as Julius' saber from his time with them would indicate.

The blade power knob was included to allow the blade to go from a non-lethal training setting, up to a power level above normal to aid in cutting through blast doors or the like. With the power knob dialed to full output, the saber will not quite cut through lightsaber proof objects like beskar or phrik, but thicker durasteel and the like will cut with no problem, as if through butter, and resistant or "immune" items will find they may not fall to this blade, they do intend bear scars from it at times. Though running the blade for too long at maximum power settings carries risks of short-outs and other detriments to it, such as explosion and de-cycle to stun only.

Other technologies implemented to further enhance the saber to the point of utility for one so heavily specialized in their use include the use of non-demetris circuits in the construction of the device, granting an immunity to the effect of cortosis shorting out the blade in pure form. With the almost perplexing availability of cortosis impregnated cloth, armor, weapons, and more for something supposedly so scarce, it was fast becoming near a necessity for one to be able to counter-act the annoying and debilitating effects of this material.

Overall, it is a powerful lightsaber designed to function and perform at a level beyond even the typical well constructed lightsaber of most Jedi Masters, but for good reason. When one depends on an item as heavily as Julius does the Sahsahlah saber, it stands to reason the wielder will design it with every feasible advantage he can to be featured. In the end though, unique and heavily developed as the pair may be, they are just a tool, a weapon, and are no substitute for skill and ability. Julius has spent the better part of decades honing those things, and the bells and whistles are merely add-ons learned about in the rescue of the ruins of the Socorro Academy during his self-imposed Exile.

[member="Glavo Pahro"], Master level Lightsaber for a Master. Jal Shey is not unknown to him, nor is the avaibility to get these items which are not that hard to get.

However, you might want to link where you got the VT-lense. As far as I am aware, you have to do a dev thread with the company to actually get it.

Otherwise, I would pass it off.

[member="Zephyr Carrick"] - working on the thread now. Debating adding phrik for the hilt, or cortosis. Spear haft is easy to cut otherwise for other sabers. Also debated another feature or two, but I don't want to overload it.

[member="Glavo Pahro"]. Cortosis weave is a good idea and is used quite often in canon for shaft weaponry. Its a good idea, but is more likely to break than phrik or even durasteel. Think of using a steel rod, or an aluminum rod. It wont break, but more so bend where it was hit and prevent closing of the shaft.

[member="Zef Halo"], The hilt expands. The weight has to go somewhere. And if it were a staff, it would weigh somewhere around that. Including the fact its made of durasteel. If it were made of phrik or songsteel then it would be much lighter towards the average weight of a normal lightsaber.

[member="Zephyr Carrick"] - compression tech means it is a solid rod at any length. Not hollow or telescopic. So that aint a worry.

[member="Zef Halo"] - I guess it is. I melded two old subs together. Fix it when I'm home

[member="Glavo Pahro"], Been wanting to make a sword for myself, and songsteel or phrik would do. So if you want a dev thread, I can help you with that. And I have been wanting to RP with you in general recently.

I mean unless you don't want to. lol

Get the phrik, cortosis is quite fragile as a material, at least thats what wiki says. Damm phrik survived the death star and is lightweight which makes this even deadlier and more fitting to the speed style I THINK. your character has. I would've loved to help but sleep time over here.

Added:

  • A Force Imbuement to the Durindfire Crystal, which just lets it damage dark sided spirits and sithspawn more. Nothing else.
  • Changed the dual phase from a knob to a twist-switch for quicker switching.
  • Changed material to Songsteel

Let me know how that reads?
