DETAILED SPECIAL FEATURES

Essentially, the primary special feature of the Sallust-Class Service Droid is versatility.

The Epicurus-Class Droid Brain allows the Sallust-Class to utilize the Pythagoras-Class Programming Suites. Although the Sallust-Class is limited to the A2 module, it is incredibly versatile in what programming it can accept and duties it can take on.

Depending on the role intended for the Sallust-Class when purchased, it can be outfitted with a variety of attachments. Customers looking to cut corners on costs may opt to choose less comprehensive arrays of tools, as indicated by the “rudimentary”, “basic”, and “advanced” categories. Environmental shields may also be attached to the Sallust-Class if the droid is intended to operate in hostile environments, such as extreme heat or cold.

STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
  • [Strength] The Sallust-Class has incredible versatility, able to be programmed or designed for any conceivable role.
  • [Strength] It is also built to last. Units can suffer a tremendous amount of wear and tear before performance takes a hit.
  • [Weakness] Ion and EMP attacks will render the droid inactive, as it has no defense against them.
  • [Weakness] This droid has no chance in combat against trained or armed opponents.
  • [Weakness] Units are prone to the development of personality quirks. Frequent memory wipes and close monitoring are required.
DESCRIPTION

In a post-Gulag, post-Netherworld galaxy, manpower shortages are a frequent obstacle. Sure, one could hire approximately three dozen different types of droids to do three dozen types of manual labor… Or now, to save on costs, you can purchase three dozen of the same droid that packs advanced, modular programming suites that enable it to do just about anything and everything.

Introducing your newest, most modular best friend: the Sallust-Class Service Droid.

Although visually similar to the Trajan-Class War Droid Mk. I, the Sallust-Class is not built for combat. Its external casing is made out of sturdy, reliable plasteel. Good for withstanding wear, tear, and rough conditions, not so much for weathering a hail of blaster fire. Sallust-Class Droids are not meant for combat. While they will always attempt to defend themselves and their masters from destruction, any reasonably well-armed combatant can make quick work of them. Despite its programming subroutines, it is still basically a humanoid made out of metal. Fisticuffs is ill-advised.

The physical form of the Sallust-Class resembles a humanoid. Humanoids are, after all, versatile creatures capable of doing a great many things. The Sallust-Class, by virtue of both its design and programming, is highly adaptable. It is more than capable in excelling in any variety of tasks set before it, provided it has the corresponding programming and attachments.

What you want your Sallust-Class Service Droid to do is only limited by your imagination. Standard protocol droid activities? Easy. Deep core mining operations? Not a problem. Computing advanced mathematical formulas that would make a Givin blush? Without failure. Tending the Pellaeon Gardens? Absolutely. Managing a bureaucracy? Certainly. Surgeon? Definitely.

Sallust-Class Service droids come with a variety of added implements to help it perform its duties- whatever those might be. The Myriad Visual System allows the droid to cycle between night vision, thermal vision, and other visual spectrums as necessary. The Audio-Visual recorder also enables the droid to produce high definition recordings of whatever it can hear and see, provided it chooses to activate the feature. A segregated commlink allows the droid to receive orders and communications without the risk of a slicer hijacking the signals and seizing control.

Other basic equipment includes a vocabulator capable of both traditional and binary communication. A Computer probe grant the droids the ability to directly interface with most computers to retrieve data or manipulate computer systems. Finally, a Sensorscope and General Scanner work in conjunction to allow the droid to passively scan anything that needs scanning.
