More Tea?
Name: Salyna's Teahouse
Intent: To create a meeting place/safehouse for the Disciples of Twilight.
Classification: Teahouse and underground safehouse.
Location: In Amfar's capital city, just off the main drag, and a few miles from one of Amfar's many beaches.
Affiliation: Selinica Miriya Cailis; Salyna and Faroke Rinilinar (NPCs)
Description: Salyna's Teahouse is open and tastefully decorated in the interior of the business, hung with calm, beautiful, and sometimes thoughtful art. There is seating both inside and out, and the proprietors live in a modest loft apartment above the shop. The outdoor lattices are woven with some species of climbing flowers, at least one variety of roses among them.
At the back of an under-the-stairs cupboard is a hidden, secured door which opens to a staircase leading down into a basement space suited to live a handful of individuals, and stocked with supplies necessary to the work of Sel and her associates, as well as necessities to last a minimum of a month. All these 'working' supplies stow away extremely well to make the space appear as if it is a secret guest apartment.
A further, smaller sub-basement, also hidden, is set with further supplies meant to facilitate and support a quick escape if needed, in addition to being loaded out as required (communications gear, and so on). From here, paths lead to the starport, a far-offshore island (of which there is a seemngly innumerable number of small islands, and several are potential exit points), and a remote access location far beyond the outskirts of the capital, which isn't exactly marked on any current maps.
History: Salyna Rinilinar (née Okey) was the first broker with whom Selinica Miriya Cailis dealt in her former life as a 'high-end' thief, and the first genuine friendship Miriya had since her departure from home at the age of eighteen. When Salyna married Faroke Rinilinar and looked to retire from that life, she expressed a desire to return to the purveyance of tea as had been in her family for generations, and Sel, having lived on a very small fraction of her 'earnings' had plenty of capital.
She was more than happy to fund this dream for her friend, providing that the facility would be a safe place for her to go and electing to be a silent partner, leaving the day-to-day to Salyna, who easily agreed, willing to do anything for this younger woman to whom she had shown the ropes and inner workings of the black market life. The former broker saw Sel as a daughter, of sorts.
Nowadays, no longer associated with that life and having moved on to something greater, Sel saw a new use for the underground portion of the teahouse that would still essentially serve its original purpose in the 'recycling' of the secure, secret basement for her current associates.
