Sandy, Cliché, But Still Fun

Mos Eisley
Tatooine was a good planet. It belonged to the Techno Union, but it was still one of the major destinations for people who were involved in crime. It was the central safe haven in the galaxy for outlaws, but that is definitely not why Lilin was there. She was no there to fight, to do a job, to drink in the cantina.

No.

She was on the streets of Mos Eisley, wandering around and trying to stay alive. Even though she had a lightsaber with her, she had tried to hide it underneath her leather jacket. A leather jacket that was a little bit too much for a dry and warm climate like Tatooine. That didn't matter to her, though. She had come from a rather warm planet, after all.

Her eyes wandered around the place, trying to find something fun to do. He was on a break from fighting against the Dark Side and crime and whatnot, so getting into a fight was a huge no-no for her.

Yet the point was, it was hard not to get into a fight on a planet like that one was.

Lilin was not a huge fan of sand. She didn't like beaches, didn't like deserts, didn't like sandboxes. She remembered how when she was a little kid, locals played in sandboxes and had fun while she was the only one wandering around the planet, going into forests and stuff.

That made her a local celebrity -- most adults of Zahat'n'ira spent their time in forests, after all, and did their fancy rituals. They could often use the help Lilin provided them.

Time had passed, though, and now she was not a famous person by any means. She was a nobody on a planet like Tatooine.

Wretched hive of scum and villainy indeed!

"No, I already told you, I have the papers here..." Lifting his hand, Adiara waved a datapad in the face of the Gamorrean Customs Officer. "Stupid buggering green skinned oaf" he added, under his breath; it was very rare that anything riled this particular Morellian up, but a buffoon who did not speak Basic and was dealing with his shipment really took the panna cake and drizzled the carbosyrup all over his patience.

"E chu ta!" he yelled, throwing his hands up in the air and settling the datapad containing all the relevant customs information down on the table. Something registered in the Gamorrean's eyes, and Adi huffed at his bad luck. Of course the fool would understand Huttese! Why wouldn't he understand Huttese? Adiara wasn't even sure there were Hutts left on Tatooine these days...

"Pateesa", Adi strained while pointing at himself, his Huttese wasn't great but he had dealt with a few Crime Lords in his Smuggling Career. Then he reached into his pocket and pulled out a few credit chips. "Moulee-rah... Oh come on, just take the damn credits and let me pass!" A snort left the boarish creature, before the disgusting thing reached out to snatch the credits from him and turned, waving him through.

"Sleemo" he murmured as he passed the beast and wandered back to his ship with the approval documents in hand. He better be paid well for this, bribing Gamorreans could get expensive. Best he hurry and get the shipment where it belonged before the greedy bugger came asking for more.

It didn't take long for representatives of his client to arrive and unload his cargo bay, and once they were done Adi was in half a mind to take his earnings and leave. He hated the thought of being on Tatooine without her, after the promises he'd made. Thinking back to his time on Nar Shaddaa, the Smuggler could not help but grumble. If only Aerin had remained in his company, then she could have seen the wonders of the Galaxy, the harshness of this planet in comparison to her own. He had wanted to show her the Oceans of Pelagon, the Dune Sea's of Tatooine, the Jungles of Dxun...

Alas it had not come to be. Perhaps there was time to pay a visit to Mos Eisley's Cantina... Mandalorian Whiskey would not be on the table this time, he didn't quite feel like what he had once referred to as 'the good stuff'. But there would be other things to lose time drinking, and if all else failed Caf was always a good option.

So, with a heavy heart and a weary mind, Adiara locked up ship and ventured out into the light of the harsh twin suns of Tatooine, where the sand immediately crept into his boots and threatened to sullen his mood even further.

| Important Translations: | Pateesa = Friend | Moulee-Rah = Money | The others are insignificant |

Lilin enjoyed being nobody. It gave her some kind of an immunity against the world's problems. It seemed to ease her worries, or maybe it was because of the twin suns. Something about this place radiated a feeling of freedom -- freedom from a person's own worries, a freedom from laws and rules and regulations, from everything that was going on in the galaxy.

The freedom to live was what she thought it would be called.

Her feet had taken her to a place which everybody in the universe knew. The Mos Eisley Cantina, the most wicked place possible. It had formerly been under hutts' control, now she didn't know who ruled over this place.

But what she did know was that she would not want to step into the place, no matter what. It had an atmosphere of craziness to it; it was so chaotic that she wouldn't survive there for even a moment. People died there every now and then and in most cases, nobody cared about it.

Even now she felt a great disturbance from the building, even though it was most likely there from all the people who had died there.

Sigh.

Don't even think I'll be writing so long posts. :p

"Don't have the stomach to enter, either?"

Adiara had made the short journey from spaceport to Cantina and had stood staring at the door for a few moments before [member="Lilin Imperieuse"] appeared. She seemed almost surprised that she had ended up outside it, and something akin to disgust laced her expression. Adiara found it an amusing sight to behold, it reminded him of the way Aerin had reacted upon feeling how sticky the Rugger's floors were.

Mos Eisley Cantina was far worse than the Rugger, though, so he could empathize with the girl.

"I don't blame you, wretched place."

Brushing down his shirt, which already had grains of sand trying to worm their way through the fabric, the Morellian managed a smile. "There are other places to unwind in Mos Eisley, there's even a diner just a few doors down." This information he offered with a shrug. It was strange how a sandstone building such as this could feel so oppressive, even when its long shadow cast cool air over his sunburned skin.

Maybe it was memories of the last time he was in this particular Cantina, several years prior. Some places in the Galaxy ceased to change.

[Don't worry yourself over post lengths, the opening one was just for a bit of fun]

Saying that Lilin wasn't startled by the sudden statement, which was definitely meant for her, would be a lie. She was frightened as hell as the man started talking to her. As an automatic reflex, she moved her hand to her lightsaber hilt, snapped it from her belt and turned around, ready for a fight.

Yet when she realised the man didn't look like a criminal as much as everybody else around her did, she put her lightsaber away and said, "You should never ever try to do that again."

She was not familiar with the city of Mos Eisley, so she obviously didn't know any diners or other 'moral' places to get something to eat around. Eyeing the man, he didn't quite understand why he'd even said anything like that -- because like we all know, people like these tried to play and fool with teenagers like Lilin was.

"Well, thank you for the information," she said with a not so thankful tone to her voice. But that was obvious, because she was still scared of the man. Not like terrified scared, but just scared.

Adiara laughed, a light little chuckle which meant no harm.

"Try to do what, sweetheart? Help out a fellow traveler? It's obvious you aren't from these parts, your radiance far surpasses this cesspit."

Shaking his head, having immediately taken note of the lightsaber yet chosen not to act upon it, Adiara simply shrugged his shoulders and smiled. "I'm sorry if I frightened you, that wasn't my intention. Let me show you to the diner and I'll get you a caf' to make up for it?"

Okay, so maybe Adiara wanted to go to the diner and get a drink for himself... But if he could get this girl out of the way of the Cantina where she stood out like a sore thumb and was a prime target for some of Tatooine's sleezier inhabitants then it would be a worthwhile cause.

He didn't want another enemy in the world, after all, the craven that he was. Besides, enemies were difficult to keep track of the more of them you had.
