While the products of Sanguine Defense Works "officially" debuted into the Outer Rim arms trade relatively recently as a local start up business, the truth is a bit more complicated. The Order of Wonosa, having waged their personal holy war against the scum and villainy of the Outer Rim for decades now, always had issues with standardization and production of military equipment. The vast majority of the arsenal that their soldiers made use of consisted of common blasters picked from their slain foes, few of which were in prime condition and as such had to be restored and repaired until the original product was barely recognizable.
As their ranks stabilized and proper factories were secured or installed both in their Outer Rim holdings and on Faldos in Sith Space, the ability to begin their own production of weaponry on a scale large enough not only for their own soldiers but also for wider production for the Sith Order as well. Still no official company was established as all of their products were simply directly given to the armies of the Sith.
However in more recent times with Wonosa being under scrutiny and potential threat the need for additional resources and income became very apparent and as such the holdings in the Outer Rim began to divert production away from the Sith Order in order to compensate. Sanguine Defense Works was quickly established as somewhat of a shell company, with no real places of business but rather with their blasters simply appearing in arms markets across the Outer Rim almost overnight. To ease suspicion an office and main distribution hub were set up on Wrea, one of the larger outposts of Wonosan activity, but by and large this is simply a front to keep their Sith ties and affiliation a secret.
For all intents and purposes to an outside viewer Sanguine Defense Works are an up-and-coming company that seeks to dominate the arms trade with reliable products, primarily aimed at arming planetary garrisons and law enforcement rather than criminals.
RATIONALE
Most of the factories that comprise SDW's assets were conquered or established either by Darth Strosius himself or on his direct orders, serving him and his soldiers long before the company was ever brought into existence. In particular however, while his cult waged their war on crime in the Kessel Sector and beyond they quickly began looting stockpiles of weapons from their enemies both slain and by intercepting shipments of them. Additionally the procurement of old Sith-Imperial depots and stocks added to this rising supply of blasters and the like. This odd combination of Outer Rim and Sith weapons would become the foundation for the products that Sanguine Defense Works would eventually begin to mass produce and sell. There are no shareholders nor stock of any kind and employment by the company is limited almost entirely to those loyal or in service of the Order of Wonosa, making every member of the company loyal to Darth Strosius as a result.
