Individuals of the species are as varied in form, appearance, and functionality as any individual of the human species; with noticeable differences appearing in the physical form and appearance of the various races of Vampirika. A clear sexual dimorphism is apparent in the species denoting a clear difference between the two genders as males of the species tend to be larger and more muscular and females lithe and slender by comparison - a noted exception being the Stravoy Race in which this dimorphism is swapped. Individuals are known to further modify their appearances as a means of avoiding detection and naturally blending in with other species - specifically humans - via the introduction of dyed hair, locally designed clothing, or adoption of local customs and fashions. |

VAMPIRIKA RACES |
---|
The Sanguinarian Diaspora began circa 3976 BBY with the destruction of the planet Akeldama and the fall of its Slave Empire with scattered the surviving members of the species across the Galaxy into hiding on a thousand worlds as a means of surviving both the destruction of their homeworld and the potential elimination of their species. During this Diaspora, the Vampirika species began to develop along unique racial lines with physical and cultural similarities and differences developing among the varying members of the species. This has resulted in the documentation of seven distinct racial profiles of the Vampirika species. Considered to be the baseline of the species are the Tortagen, they are the most commonly encountered Vampirika that an individual may come across and the Tortagen maintains the ancient beliefs and culture of Akeldama prior to its destruction. It is this baseline that has seen some of the older Vampirika Houses claim a "Pureblood" status and link themselves to the ancient homeworld. Many of the specific distinctions and cultural descriptions provided come from this baseline race. On the other hand, the Ophidian is a much more elusive racial heritage of Vampirika that prefer to keep their existence rumor and hearsay save to only a select few close relations. Those that claim this racial heritage are often noted as having more saurian or serpentine-like physical traits. These traits include slit pupils, sharp - though still short - fingernails, elongated tongues, and more pronounced fangs. When it comes to the Force, this race is much more likely to embrace those teachings, often specializing in those abilities that alter the mind and senses. They are also known to be much more slender and lithe than other races of Vampirika, tending to move in a more fluid, serpentine-like motion. A younger race of Vampirika, having only come into existence within the last thousand years, are the Wraiths. They appear to share similar physical traits to Echani and Epicanthix and are among the tallest of the Vampirika races. The race is marked with white, almost silver, colored hair and is known to develop a golden-yellow iris. Other physical features of this race are higher, more pronounced cheekbones, ears that taper to a point, and a lithe figure. A strange racial feature that has been noted in a few more prominent members of the race is that many are seemingly Force Dead. Animalistic and savage, the Stravoy, both mentally and physically, are bestial of the Vampirika races and share similar physical traits to more primal creatures. Hulking brutes, the sexual dimorphism of the Vampirika race has seemed to reverse, with females of the race being more physically imposing and males more lithe and slender. Additional physical traits of the race are their bestial teeth and larger fangs as well as their more prominent claw-like fingernails. Members of the race are also known to grow thicker mattes of hair along their necks and shoulders, as well as their forearms. They have also culturally developed a religion centered around hunting and points, akin to similar religious beliefs seen predominately in Trandoshans and similar hunting-focused cultures and species. The Unwanted, Lepers, Sewer Dwellers, Rats, The Nosferatu, all titles and names given to those of the Lazarenes race, perhaps the most unfortunate of the races. They share many similar features to that of the feral ghoul-like Nosferatus Vampirika, and in many cases they are often the offspring of such creatures, retaining some shred of intelligence while unluckily graced with the gaunt features of their feral progenitors. Still classified as a race of their own, their bodies are often thin and decrepit, skin sticks to the bone whilst eyes and cheeks appear to be sunken in as though they had been starved for endless months. Their culture has evolved to embrace their outcast status, finding homes and relief in the darkest of places that none other would look at while offering their services as spies and infiltrators to the other Vampirika Races. Though still considered their own race, they are the most likely, perhaps in a few more millennia, to eventually branch off into their own subspecies entirely. Graced with a blessing to withstand the sun, though still harmed by the ultraviolet rays, the Obayifo is another young race of the Vampirika, having only been cataloged and classified as a race within the last five hundred years. They are marked with a strikingly darker skin tone than other Vampirika races whilst also sharing physical similarities to the Stravoy; broad shoulders and muscular build with both males and females seemingly of the same physical height and build. Their culture is more tribal and entwined with the natural world and those places that teem with life, often overgrown by nature. They have also developed their own religious beliefs, centered around a mother figure, a goddess depicted as a bringer of life and their nature reflects this as they are seemingly drawn towards sources of water to build shrines and temples to their deity. When one hears the word, Vampire, the mind often conjures up the quintessential view of a brooding noble in some far-secluded mountaintop citadel overlooking a sleepy little village that they prey upon during the night. It is the Balaur that embodies this thought the most of any Vampirika race, with a culture that has revolved solely around the accumulation of wealth, property, and cattle. As a race, they see themselves as above the other Vampirika and hold onto ancient notions of purity and royalty that others have begun to slowly shift away from. It is this race that is most likely to be unaccepting of anything new or that might slight the old ways and beliefs and even count among their kind some of the oldest of the Vampirika Houses. |

DIET & CUISINE |
---|
Throughout the Galaxy, the many species that populate the thousands upon thousands of inhabitable planets and moons have each developed their own unique tastes and cuisines based on their dietary needs and restrictions. The Vampirika is no different, and countless eons have managed to develop their own specialized cuisine. While they are more than capable of eating and drinking and are often fond of tasting and testing the culinary arts of various species, they otherwise receive no nourishment or nutritional value from these consumed drinks and foods. Rather, in order to keep up with their own dietary needs as a Hemovoric species, an individual must consume up to 5 liters of blood in the course of a week. |
RELIGION & BELIEFS |
---|
The Sanguinarian Diaspora led to the widespread development and adoption of Religious Beliefs and Mythologies by the various Races of the Species that each individual Family Unit or Great House is likely to have some form of Ancestral Veneration or a Household Deity. In some cases, such as the Obyaifo and Stravoy, this has seen the development of specific Deities and Afterlives that individuals of these Races strive to attain upon passing through serving, venerating, or following the beliefs in their present lives. In most cases, the most common form of Religion is Ancestral Veneration with each Great House constructing a memorial or an entirely separate shrine for specific individuals that had the greatest impact upon a Great House or a Family. The second most common belief system among the Species is often adopting the local customary belief system and incorporating it, either wholly or partially, into an individual's own belief system. |
GREAT HOUSES |
---|
It is not uncommon for individuals of a species to unify into a cohesive whole for the purpose of defense and collective prosperity; with the same being true for the Vampirika Species. Originally separated and codified in Covens and by Bloodlines prior to the Fall of Akeldama, the species has united into Great Houses since their diaspora when their original homeworld was shattered. The Great Houses offer a purpose and a general cause, usually protection, economic stability, opportunity, and a family. These Great Houses are often unified along racial lines or an ancestral lineage though it is not unheard of for multiple lineages or races to be invested in a singular House depending on that House's own beliefs. The most powerful of the Great Houses act as a guiding Council for the species, and a number of Lesser Houses and Cadet Branches exist, swearing fealty to a Great House for their own reasons. |
THE COUNCIL |
---|
Selected from the most powerful and prominent of the established Great Houses, Prior to the adoption of a new homeworld, the Council served as a quasi-representative body of the species, with individuals often voicing the concerns and needs of the species. Often, this lead to a singular House or allied Political Blocs rising to power over the others. With the adoption of their new homeworld, Khrea, the Council of Great Houses has become a more centralized institution to the species and serves as a form of Representative Government; though this has led to the unfortunate side-effect that gives a louder voice to certain individuals and causes, resulting in others being overlooked or ignored. Usually, the Council attempts to do the most amount of good with the least amount of damage; however, this has also led, at times, to inaction through stagnation or as a means to ensure the status quo. |
MATRIARCHY |
---|
From their original progenitors, the species had always seemingly adopted a Matricarchical Society focused around singular, often powerful, women that were capable of unifying multiple Families into singular Covens. This tradition, and social structure, have continued into the current, with the Great Houses often led by a Woman or multiple Women in lieu of a Male dominated society. However, there are those rare instances in which Males have come to power or led the species in times of trouble with distinction, and held that power and status throughout their lives; though this is often the exception to the rule. The reason for this adoption of a Matriarchical Society is still highly debated among Scholars of the species, and various reasons have been cited - from having a similar History to that of the Hapans, or that the original progenitors of the species being female - though no current theory has been widely accepted. |
PURITY OF BLOOD |
---|
In some Great Houses, Families, and fringe societies, the 'Purity of Blood' has taken on a Cult-like status among its practitioners that has seen many of these groupings fall from favor and grace among the species. Some of the species, take great pride in the fact that their family line is capable of being traced back to Akeldama or that they have not brought in individuals of other humanoid species to "dilute" their blood. A fascinating, albeit saddening, culture has developed around these beliefs, and many that adopt such thinking believe that members of the species should only reproduce within the species. Those few remaining Great Houses that follow this belief are often highly inbred, having "kept it in the family" for multiple successive generations that it has led to the decline and extinction of a number of Families that could trace their lineage back to the original homeworld. |
REPRODUCTION |
---|
Individual members of the species are capable of procreating with individuals of the Human species, or with a wide variety of Near-Human species that populate the known Galaxy. This adaptive reproduction is seen as a boon to the species and is highly encouraged - outside of "pureblood" lineages - to strengthen the species and races by introducing new attributes, qualities, and genes into the genetics of the species. In some instances, specific Great Houses are known to selectively breed for desired traits with specific species to introduce those traits whilst simultaneously breeding out unfavorable genes to strengthen their own lines. |
STRAVOY HUNTING BELIEFS |
---|
Of the many races of the Vampirika species, it is the Stravoy that so linger to the teetering over the edge into primal savagery that few are capable of pulling back from the abyss once the step is taken. This primal urge and mentality have seen the race naturally develop into a more rudimentary society centered around Hunting Packs and the belief in an afterlife similar to that practiced by the Trandoshian species. The Stravoy hold tight to the belief that their lives are watched by a Great Hunter; that their accomplishments and kills are judged and pointed accordingly and that the more points and more difficult kills an individual has recorded, the better their lives will be in the Eternal Hunting Grounds. This belief, bluntly states, that those with the lowest scores and easiest kills will themselves become the prey that is hunted in the afterlife; whilst those with the more difficult kills garnering higher scores will be on the hunt for eternity without needing to check their primal urges and more savage desires. |
LAZARENES CARETAKERS |
---|
There are many taboos and fates throughout the galaxy in varying cultures and species that are tantamount to death or a far worst fate, and it is no different among the Vampirika. The worst fate, one even beyond that of early death, is to become Nosferatus or Feral. Losing one's mind to the point that feeding is the only thing that matters is a fate that an individual wouldn't even wish upon their worst enemy. For to become Feral is to lose all reason and see even another Vampirika as food, save for a singular race. The Lazarenes are a race of Vampirika often born of the Nosferatus, retaining a sliver of their intelligence, while unfortunately inheriting the feral and gaunt forms of their forbearers. Among this outcast, the race has grown a cultural subsect of caretakers of those that inhabit the reserves set aside to shelter and isolate the feral Vampirika and those slowly transitioning into such a state. It is only the Lazarenes that are seen as similar, allowing them to easily move about their feral cousins and care for them, often in their final dying days as the bloodlust takes a greater hold and deteriorates them further into mindless beasts. |
OBAYIFO WATER DEITY |
---|
A younger race of the species, the Obayifo have already carved out their own system of beliefs that has seen them focus upon a central deity, a Mother-figure, often depicted with a carafe in one hand and a child in the other, that is said to have been the progenitor of the Obayifo. This belief in a specific deity and the live-giving properties of water has seen the race develop their cultural and societal identity in tandem with that of water; specifically settling along natural waterways such as Rivers, Estuaries, and Deltas with a preference for calm, slower moving currents than more dangerous rapid moving locations. For many of the Obayifo Race, water is a central focus in their lives and communities, which has further led to societies and communities developing around shallow tidal pools and coastal areas that are often naturally protected by inlets, sandbanks, and mangroves following along their belief in a protective mother figure. This more oneness with the Natural World and openness of communal tribes has seen the Obayifo - specifically those that are naturally gifted with the Force - also develop 'Driuds' and 'Enclaves' focused on utilizing their natural talents and Force-based Abilities to protect and nurture the natural world around them. |
HISTORICAL INFORMATION |
---|
Creation Mythology states that the Sanguinius Vampirika species was created as the progeny of a group of Forebearers, most likely Energy Vampires, that had arrived on a secluded planet in Wild Space that was christened Akeldama by its settlers, in a location that become known as 'The Cradle of Life'. Here, in the Cradle, the Forebearers drank from a mystical font of Sanguine-colored ichor that transformed them into the first members of the Sanguinius Vampirika species. While the mythological history had previously been dismissed by Scholars of the species, the subsequent discovery of Akeldama and its forgotten histories and the center of a burgeoning Empire in Wild Space has brought some credence to the factuality of the origin myth. The further discovery of Historical Records has indicated that the Species was, once, much more widespread, and had established an Empire centered around the trade of 'cattle' to sustain the feeding needs of their species. This eventually brought them into conflict with the Mandalorians who in turn destroyed Akeldama, resulting in The Sanguinarian Diaspora nearly 5,000 years prior to the present date. With the destruction of their Original Homeworld, the loss of their Empire, and the scattering of their people, many of the Societal norms of the species were quickly discarded, changed, or otherwise forgotten. The Great Houses rapidly replaced the ancient Covens and Bloodlines as the socio-political organizations of the Species, and a Council was formed of the Great Houses to ensure that the scattered people had a voice. For a time, the species became a legend, and slipped into myth, with many of the stories being disseminated by their own hand as a means to further shroud the truth of their existence from the greater galaxy. Conflict among the Great Houses, though not uncommon, was often hidden within larger Galactic-scale conflicts to further hide and obscure the existence of the species as the fractured people attempted to survive and keep themselves hidden from those that had nearly wiped out the species. The Diaspora itself had an unintended, though positive, effect on the species; that being the development of individual races within the species that had previously been uniformed in cultural, societal, and physical form and functionality. This has led to the catalog of seven distinct races within the species, with additional races likely existing though unknown as much of the species remains in isolated pockets of the Galaxy. Within the last thousand years, the species has seen a resurgence, with individuals attaining high-ranking status and positions throughout the Galaxy; and it was one such individual that, after the Sacking and Fall of Naboo, led the species to adopt a new homeworld on Khrea within the Shiraya Expanse located within a sparsely populated Galactic Arm of Wild Space. |

Intent:
First a disclaimer; I understand that there are two canonical "vampire" species (those being the Anzat and the Energy Vampire), as well as a Chaos Lore "vampire" species, the Tera Vampir.
The intent of this submission comes from the act of creating two characters that are currently marked as Energy Vampires (and having not known of the Tera Vampir), those two characters (Amelia Sorenn-Syrush and now Natalia Syrush) both morphed into a more unique variant of the Energy Vampire, being primarily heavily inspired by the Underworld series of Vampires. I would also like to note (as seen in the Pathfinder RPG) that there are numerous types of vampires, each with their own capabilities and weaknesses (for example the Pathfinder RPG [as mentioned] has four specific Vampire races, the Nosferatu, Moroi, Vetala, and the Jiang-shi, each representing a different cultural take on vampires).
The primary intent thus stands as to expand upon that, and further the lore and story of these species. As personally I see there being no problem in having multiple species; while this submission itself is meant to be a "sub-species" of the canonical Energy Vampire.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The accepted history (or rather the consensus of the species) is that they evolved from Energy Vampires, often referring to that species in their own historical and cultural records and texts as 'the forebears'. The exact world that they evolved on however is often debated among the various Covens, Houses, and Bloodlines of the species. Some more 'pureblood' lines are adamant that the race began on the more civilized worlds (even then still arguing if they evolved on Coruscant, Alderaan or Corellia). While other bloodlines swear that their kind evolved out in the Outer Rim Territories, specifically stating Thule as the likely homeworld of the species.
What is known of their history is passed down in a verbal narrative with entire histories of Covens and Bloodlines being held in the memories of a few elders whom pass it down to their successors. For much of the history of the species they have been forced into the shadows, subsisting on the fear of those around them. While some Covens and Bloodlines actively slaughtered and reigned over 'lesser' species, there were those Covens that did oppose them.
This resulted in a civil war among their species early on, often hidden within the greater conflicts at large that spread across the galaxy. In more recent times however, with other species turning upon the Covens and hunting down members of the Sanguinius Vampirika, the Covens and Bloodlines have come together for mutual protection. This has resulted in the rise of a handful of councils that ensure that members of their kind adhere to strict rules and laws that govern their activities and interactions with others (though this isn't always the case).
Great galactic conflicts, such as the Clone Wars were also used as another proxy war, with the species fighting their own shadow war behind the scenes against Covens that sided with the Confederacy of Independent Systems. It appears that each time a new galaxy wide conflict broke out, the various covens or bloodlines would choose a side and ultimately war with one another.
In more recent years however they have begun to join together and step out of the shadows, feeling that the time is needed for them to act in a galaxy that they also inhabit. This can be seen in the refounding of House Syrush, a once destroyed Alderaan Noble House that is now predominately comprised of Sanguinius Vampirika. The more notable galactic events, such as the Netherworld has caused a great strain upon the population of the species. Where as they were more widespread, the event shook the foundations of many bloodlines, including the destruction of an ancient bloodline that was considered to be one of the first.

- Additional Colors if hair is treated - Varies
Distinctions:
- Individuals of the species can often at times be easily picked out from other humans or near-humans due in part to the color of their skin. All members of the species share a similar alabaster white skin tone, causing them to appear paler than other individuals of other species.
- The species is most known for its overgrown teeth, specifically the canines and the lateral incisors. In some individuals and bloodlines, this also affects the canines and lateral incisors of the lower jaw.
- During times of great emotional duress or stress, it has been noted that the upper canines of an individual appear to elongate beyond their usual size; with the lower canines also elongated in certain individuals. This time of emotional duress or stress also results in an individual's eyes appearing to glow a vibrant blue or a bright yellow.
- Unlike most mammalian species, the Sanguinius Vampirika is a cold-blooded species. However unlike many saurian species, this does not appear to affect their capabilities in terms of activity. Furthermore some members or gatherings of the species often gravitate towards colder worlds (such as Hoth) as a means of defense due in part to the reputation of their species.
- While their progenitor species, the Energy Vampires, possessed retractable claws; this adaptation has seemingly been lost to the Sanguinius Vampirika. Likewise the Energy Vampire's ability to turn those that it fed upon into zombies is also a capability no longer possessed by this species.
- Research and known information on the Tera Vampir show that that species is more capable with the force, possessing the capability to use telepathy and various other force powers that evolved into the species due to their homeworld's ecosystem. This has not been seen, nor is it the case in regards to the Sanguinius Vampirika which does not possess similar capabilities.
- A sexual dimorphism is apparent in the species. Even though both sexes of the species posses enhanced physical attributes, it should be noted that males appear to be more physically strong, with greater endurance and durability. While females of the species lack this, they are the most agile, possessing greater speed, agility and heightened reflexes.
Races:
- N/a
Strengths:
- Members of this species have been noted as having developed Heightened Senses (often manifesting in increased depth perception, a heightened sense of smell and hearing, as well as a natural night vision).
- Regardless of an individual's physical build, all members of the species have enhanced physical capabilities. These present themselves as enhanced physical strength, speed, agility and reflexes; as well as increased endurance and durability.
- While the species is still susceptible to physical damage, their bodies are capable of healing themselves due to the species natural accelerated healing. This can often be seen in minor scrapes and burns healing almost instantly (with other more serious wounds taking far less time than it would for other species to heal from similar injuries). This accelerated healing can be further enhanced through the consumption of blood, often tripling the speed of healing.
- It is not known how baseline Energy Vampires reproduce (or similar species related to Energy Vampires procreate). The Sanguinius Vampirika's greatest strength is its adaptability and its capability to reproduce with human and near-human species, resulting in often healthier and stronger hybrid individuals (as seen in the Epicanthix-Sanguinius Vampirika hybrid Amelia Sorenn-Syrush). With the resulting offspring inheriting attributes from both species.
- A minor strength of the species is one that aids others in a way. If an individual is gravely injured or otherwise willingly agrees, a member of the Sanguinius Vampirika may offer their blood to the second party. If consumed, the individual has the potential of becoming a Lesser Sanguinius Vampirika, though as they are a sub-species, they deserve their own recorded codex entry.
Weaknesses:
- All members of the species appear to suffer from an acute and aggressive form of Photo-Sensitivity, specifically an allergy to the ultraviolet radiation given off by many stars. This allergy results in the individual's skin starting to burn and blister, with more severe burns developing the longer they remain in the source of the ultraviolet radiation. Likewise this photo-sensitivity also affects the individual's eyes, with it being noted that even looking at indirect sunlight causes a strain upon the eye (with the potential of blindness developing from prolonged exposure). They do not however (as seen in many popular Holovids) suddenly burst into flames upon exposure. It should be noted that while minor burns, such as those from brief contact with ultraviolet radiation can be healed; if an individual of the species suffers from prolonged exposure, their healing capability is in essence negated, requiring immediate medical attention as the alternative is death.
- While biologically immortal, individuals of the species can pass due to sustained damaged, fatal wounds, or dismemberment. Unlike the Gen'Dai, the species is unable to sustain heavy damage and put themselves together or live through the loss of vital organs.
- Some bloodlines of the species have over time developed a silver allergy. While most 'silver allergies' are usual a nickel allergy as a result of the silver plated nickel jewelry; those bloodlines that do suffer from this allergy reported similar effects as the species shared photo-sensitivity. Upon coming in contact with silver, their skin burns and blisters, with prolonged exposure resulting in more dire and grievous injury. These injuries are not easily healed through their healing capability and require medical attention in order to recover. Prolonged exposure of silver from these wounds will ultimately result in silver poisoning which subsequently will lead to the individuals death.
- The species subsists on a primarily hemovoric diet, requiring that they consume blood at least once per week. Though this requirement can be overcome, the longer an individual goes without feeding the more likely they will succumb to what is colloquially known as 'hunger madness'. This 'madness' often results in the individual tearing through any populated location, slaughtering and feeding regardless of the species (even turning on their own kind). If an individual gets to this point it becomes a matter of principle that others (usual members of its own coven or bloodline) put the individual down.
- Mental maladies are often seen developing in older more "ancient" members of the species. Those who do not undergo a routine hibernation period to rest and restore themselves, are often at a higher rate for developing mental health issues (such as alzheimer's and dementia).
- The creation of a Lesser Sanguinius Vampirika is recorded above, usually involving an individual consuming the blood of a Sanguinius Vampirika. However, while they are capable of passing on this gift, it is also a lottery as to whom survives the gifting. This is due in part to only 10% of the galactic population being capable of surviving, rather than their own body rejecting the consumed blood and destroying itself from the inside out.
- While they are naturally resistant to a number of toxins and poisons, they are not immune to them all. For instance, if exposed, through either ingestion or introduction through an open wound, to Nightshade (which is highly toxic to the Sanguinius Vampirika) could mean instant death to a lesser member of the species. Elders, while not immune to its effects, would essentially become paralyzed and unable to move (the duration depending on the exact amount introduced to the body).
- An oddity of the species is how Spice (no matter the variant) affects their biological capabilities. Much like how Deathsticks were used by Cade Skywalker to suppress his visions of his ancestor Luke Skywalker; Spice in all its variants appears to adversely affect individuals of the species. While accidental contact with Spice suppresses the healing abilities of a member of the species for a few hours, continued ingestion (forced or otherwise) will eventually completely shut off the healing capabilities of an individual until the spice is flushed from their system.

Diet:
- Hemovoric
While capable of consuming prepared foods (and actually often enjoying the cuisine of various species around the galaxy); they receive no nutritional or sustenance from these foods, requiring to consume blood at least once a week.
Communication:
- Speech
- Writing
Technology level:
- Galactic Standard
Hyperdrive Capable
Religion/Beliefs:
- While the species itself has no standing religion that they themselves developed; individuals or covens of the species often worship already established religions. Even fewer establish any new beliefs, with others worshiping more abstract beliefs, or those that match their spiritual inclinations.
General behavior:
- Behavior often differs between individuals and from bloodline to bloodline. While some are more focused on family life, others may be more focused on gathering personal wealth or notoriety. Just as the general behavior of humans and near-human species can differ greatly between individuals and families, so to does this appear to be the case with members of the Sanguinius Vampirika. The major shared behavior of the species however is due in part to its photo-sensitivity, resulting in the majority of the species being nocturnal (though not out of an evolutionary adaptation so much as defensive measure). Additional this has also caused many to flee to the void of space, with entire covens and extended bloodlines surviving on large colony vessels, only stopping at worlds to resupply as needed.
Pureblood:
- A sort of cult status has been developed around those individuals of the species that are referred to as "purebloods". Though this cult status is more so on the part of those individuals, and often they prefer and make it a point to only procreate and associate with other "purebloods". This exclusive culture was developed by those few bloodlines that felt that the Sanguinius Vampirika should only mate with their own kind, where as other bloodlines and families felt that their kind were more powerful for mating with other human and near-human species.
Matriarchal:
- While many members of the species prefer seclusion rather than gathering in groupings, those that do form 'covens' (as described below) find themselves organized into a more Matriarchal society. While males of the species do and often hold high positions of power within covens and established bloodlines, it is usually always an elder female that holds the highest power. This is mainly due in part to many bloodlines being founded by female members of the species, as well as it being thought that the first members of the Sanguinius Vampirika to have evolved from the Energy Vampire species were females.
Coven(s):
- While smaller groupings of Sanguinius Vampirika do not have a name, larger groupings are often referred to as 'Covens'. These covens are often comprised of multiple bloodlines or multiple vampiric houses joined together for some general cause (protection, economical opportunities, etc etc). While some covens are considered weaker than others, there are some specifically powerful ones formed by the Sanguinius Vampirika, specifically the 'Thule Coven' located in the Outer Rim Territories and having originated on Thule before moving to a more secluded and secretive location; as well as the 'Coruscant Coven' located on Coruscant though hidden in the Underlevels. Smaller covens of varying power are scattered across the galaxy, with some forming and breaking apart in as little as fifty or sixty years, to others that have stood for thousands.
Reproduction:
- As noted previously, the reproductive capabilities of Energy Vampires and other similar species that share a link to the Energy Vampires is unknown; the Sanguinius Vampirika are capable of procreating with many human and near-human species. Reproduction is thus seen as a boon for the species (and outside of the purebloods) it is highly encouraged that members of the species reproduce outside of their own kind to strengthen the bloodlines and the species. In face some bloodlines of the species are known to actively breed with other species as a means of selecting favorable attributes while breeding out unfavorable ones to make their lines stronger.
Bloodlines:
- The bloodline is the smallest form of unification among the species, akin to a family or a 'house'. Bloodlines are specific lines of Sanguinius Vampirika that can be traced back to the progenitor Energy Vampire species. A notable Bloodline is that of Sorenn-Syrush of the Alderaan Great House, House Syrush. Other notable bloodlines include the Delacroix Bloodline (from Corellia), the Vondrack Bloodline (from Vjun) and the Carpathia Bloodline (a pureblood bloodline from the Tapani Sector).

..:: Historical Information ::..
