History:
Everwinter is ruled by a warrior society and an Absolute Monarchy, where a council of warlords and a warrior caste dominate. Most people are soldiers to protect the region's rich resources, including valuable fur and magical crystals that power the city. Sanguiorians, living in mountain villages for centuries, thrive by hunting and trading fur and crystals.
Everwinter's harsh, icy landscape is made livable by these magical crystals. The society has a strict caste system, from slaves to warriors, artisans, and sorcerers, with strict laws and severe punishments for lawbreakers.
The military is strong, featuring the elite Knights of the Silver Sword and an air force riding winged beasts, capable of raining fire due to a special mineral, igneousite. A secret society, the Brotherhood of the Blue Rose, acts as a covert police force, protecting the royal family and nation.
Cultural Development:
Everwinter is a cold land known for its fur and it's crystal exports, valuable for making weapons, armor, and various technologies. Its culture revolves around meat and hunting.
The Sanguiorian king, chosen through combat, leads Everwinter, overseeing the military and managing resources. The Warlord Council can challenge the king, emphasizing combat skills and leadership grooming. Family roles are based on physical fitness, with a mix of monogamy and polyamory accepted.
Children train from age 7 for their future roles, often in the military. Warriors value long hair, viewing the cutting of hair in duels as a sign of defeat. Tattoos and body art signify status, while elaborate clothing and jewelry denote clerical or affluent positions.
Reputation is crucial in Sanguiorian society, with adulthood marking a significant status increase. Actions like carrying someone or serving milk are considered insulting, reflecting the importance of social customs and reputation.
