- Technical Maintenance: Although the visits to the hospital for lung-related issues may be long over, the SynthLungs do require annual check-ups with Fukashi professionals to ensure that there are no outstanding issues. For additional fees (Some being noticeably high) customers can request Fukashi personnel be sent to them, or that a medisensor be implanted within their lungs. Regardless, many biological problems have been swapped out for technical ones.
Sanso SynthLungs are a pair of total organ replacement body modifications by Fukashi Electric. Composed of a biofiber-synthflesh composite, the Sanso SynthLungs are by Fukashi Electric's estimates at least- the apex of artificial lung technology. Designed in the style of air filtration devices and developed upon with a strictly technological view, rather than attempting to model the lungs in the fashion of biological ones. The only similarities Sanso SynthLungs have with the original biological lungs is the outside appearance, and even this is something more to do with necessity and practicality than wishing to remain true to the original state of the body. In-order for the lungs to be efficiently fitted into the patient's body, it is significantly easier, less time-consuming and less-costly to simply meld the SynthLungs into the same shape as the biological lungs they are replacing, but to fill them with the required cybernetics.
Certified for military-grade biological and chemical weaponry filtration, the Sanso SynthLungs by themselves can function as an effective gas mask substitute, negating the need for a cumbersome mask over the customer's face. Utilizing advanced self-expanding and contracting biofiber airways and vessels, once implanted into the patient, the medical droids conducting the surgery must only reconnect the severed biological connections with the new artificial airways, allowing them to re-establish connection with the body's respiratory system and bloodstream within an hour or so. To facilitate speech capabilities, a pair of voice regulator devices exist within both lungs, while a synthetic plural sac coats each artificial lung in-order to allow seamless sliding over one another like biological lungs are capable of.
Other well-advertised and acclaimed benefits of the Sanso SynthLungs include their vastly increased respiratory capacity, allowing far superior stamina in customers, to the point it could be described as superhuman, along of course with the simple fact that they lack the same weaknesses as biological lungs. Fukashi Electric proudly proclaims that no owner of SynthLungs will ever fall victim to the age-old diseases which plague the lungs of regular beings. Like all Fukashi-brand body modifications, only Fukashi facilities are authorized (though they are not the only ones equipped to handle these surgeries) to conduct the installation process of the Sanso SynthLungs. The surgery is long, lasting around twelve hours and the recovery process is known to take around 5-6 days as the patient grows used to their new lungs. In theory it could take less than this, but Fukashi Electric wishes to avoid a lawsuit.
