  • Combat Function: To deprive the enemies of the Galactic alliance of nice things and send a message to those who serve under their banners.
Strengths:
  • "Fortune favors the infamous" - The Sanval Company’s greatest weapon is not just their skill or adaptability, it’s the fear they instill in their enemies. Their ability to strike from anywhere, at any time, has turned them into a living specter on the battlefield. Rumors of their exploits often spread faster than the truth, leaving enemies constantly looking over their shoulders, doubting their defenses, and second-guessing their strategies. This reputation is carefully cultivated; every mission is not just a tactical strike but a psychological assault designed to destabilize and demoralize.

  • Give someone a job and let them get on with it." - The Sanval Company’s strength lies in its adaptability and decentralized command structure. Every fireteam is prepared with contingency plans, ensuring that even when cut off or left without orders, the unit remains effective. Their guiding principle, “when without instruction, default to destruction” enables them to strike decisively and disrupt enemy operations. This flexibility allows their small force of 100 commandos to operate independently, striking from multiple locations simultaneously and overwhelming larger, less agile forces. Their unconventional origins and rebellious nature make their tactics unpredictable, a powerful asset against enemies accustomed to standard military doctrines. Masters of unconventional warfare, they excel in infiltration, sabotage, and other high-risk operations that require creativity and precision. What truly binds the company is their shared history of disgrace and redemption. Forged through hardship, their camaraderie runs deep. Each commando is fiercely loyal, willing to risk their life for their comrades. This unity, combined with their skill and unpredictability, makes Sanval Company a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.

Weaknesses:
  • "They don't like the color of our berets!" - The Sanval Company’s penchant for picking fights is both a defining trait and a lingering source of trouble. Most of its members ended up in the unit precisely because of their combative tendencies. Relations with non-commando units, aside from marines and pathfinders, are often strained, as few outside their circle truly understand the grueling reality of life as a commando. This divide fosters tension, especially with navy personnel who haven’t shared their hardships. Compounding their challenges, the unit’s unorthodox formation and association with Camp Hillbolt’s controversial reforms make them a magnet for political scrutiny and potential sabotage from within the military hierarchy. Their fiery tempers and unyielding wills, while assets in combat, can lead to internal disputes. Without strong and decisive leadership, these conflicts could fracture the unit at critical moments. Moreover, their history of insubordination makes them notoriously difficult to control within the rigid framework of military command, creating friction with superiors and allies alike.

  • "Hopelessly few in number" - With just 100 commandos, Sanval Company is constantly outnumbered in nearly every engagement. To survive, they must rely on mobility and precision, striking swiftly and relocating before being overwhelmed. Prolonged engagements risk whittling down their already limited numbers, turning battles into wars of attrition they cannot afford. While their individual skill and adaptability are unmatched, this same reliance on personal prowess over strict adherence to strategy leaves them vulnerable against well-coordinated and disciplined foes who can exploit gaps in their unconventional tactics.

  • "Freedom has a price." - Operating far from the greater infrastructure of the GA, Sanval Company—like all units of the 139th—must endure months on campaign without rest or resupply. Survival depends on their ability to scavenge, barter, or seize resources, whether from allies or enemies. This constant struggle to maintain supply lines adds to the relentless strain on the unit. While typically cohesive, the grueling conditions and high-stakes missions can amplify personal flaws and resurface old grudges, threatening their unity at the worst moments. Furthermore, their propensity for violence, though a battlefield asset, risks causing unnecessary collateral damage or escalating situations that might otherwise be resolved through diplomacy.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Born from necessity but forged with a fierce legacy, Sanval Company is a fresh unit with roots deeply entrenched in excellence. Every man and woman within its ranks has served no fewer than five years as a commando, with at least three combat deployments under their belts. These veterans are battle-hardened and unyielding, drawn from the most brutal and demanding theaters of war.

The company's makeup, however, is as unconventional as it is formidable. Many of its members come from the brig—men and women whose reputation for violence and defiance precedes them. It’s an open secret within the armed forces that commandos attract animosity. Be it in the navy, pathfinders, army, or even the marine corps, someone always thinks they can take on a commando. Most find themselves flat on the floor, nursing bruised egos and battered bodies. Such altercations, while common, often end with the commando facing disciplinary action, leading to an unusually high turnover rate among these elite soldiers.

Enter Camp Hillbolt, a commanding officer with a soft heart for the disgraced and the imprisoned. Recognizing the untapped potential of these ostracized warriors, Hillbolt petitioned the general staff to allow the reintegration of such individuals into active duty. His proposal: replenish the ranks of the 139th with these seasoned but wayward commandos. The general staff, reluctant yet intrigued, gave their approval.

The cream of this crop was assigned to Sanval Company, with the rest distributed among the 139th Battalion. What emerged from this selection was a force unlike any other: disciplined but rebellious, loyal yet unpredictable—a group bound not by rank or regulation but by shared experiences and a dogged determination to redeem their names.

Sanval Company is more than a unit; it’s a crucible. Its members know they stand at the edge of greatness or oblivion, with no middle ground. For them, failure isn’t an option; it’s a return to chains. Together, they aim to carve out a legacy so enduring that it will echo across a thousand years—a testament to the power of redemption and the unparalleled might of those who dare to defy the odds.

Now, as they step onto the battlefield, Sanval Company carries not just weapons and gear but the weight of their past and the burning hope for a future where their names are whispered with reverence and awe.
