Designed by Saotome based off of an old style of crystal lens that powered ships. The tobal lens was once upon time highly prized and when Saotome managed to get their hands on one they worked with Sala'dine to make more of them. A synthetic tobal lens to absorb heat and make additional energy for weapons or reactors. Functioning as a heat sink to rapidly cool and improve the power of ship systems. The fragility is an important aspect of it as for taking in heat it is essential but from impact or striking the lens will shatter. High stress is not recommended but the higher levels of heat converted has limits within ships ad facilities.

- Overly Engineered: Designed to absorb heat from engines and the ship itself by being seeded throughout the ship. Absorbing heat put out and converting it to energy that can be recycled at a high efficiency rate. A staple of the lens that is used to power ships once upon a time.
- Fragility: While they are efficient and designed well. the tobal lens was difficult to cut and form. Easily broken with a strong enough impact and vibration.
- Synthetic: A traditional Tobal lens was hardto get and make, a synthetic versionthat could be produced more readily was the answer but it also makes replacement more often a requirement.
