- Intent: To make a section of ship that allows large amounts of deployable pods to be released o a planet.

- Manufacturer: Saotome Foundry
- Affiliation: Company Name (Sasori Research)
- Market Status: Closed-Market
- Model: Pod Deployment System
- Modularity: Drop pod configuration
- Production: Mass-Produced
- Material:
- Strong Carrying Capacity
- Dedicated Fabricators
- Extensive Capacity: Made to hold drop pods for deployment from the single occupant to the massive armor and divisional pods.
- Shield: The massive plate that is used to hold the drop pods is for all intents and purposes a massive slab of metal and it might not have weapons on it and prevent weapons from being placed along the underside of a ship but it adds a heavy layer of protection.
- Self Repairing: Designed with the material, the self repairing and maintaining capabilities of the equipment are there to handle the stresses from everyday use.
- Built in power source: Designed with its own internal power source that is long lasting but it is largely able to power the armor and systems of the vehicle but when damaged it is highly explosive.
- Self Repairing: Built with a the ability but depending on the amount of damage done it can take moments like with stresses from use or weeks if highly damaged.
- Blindspot: Designed as a massive plate filled with deployable drop pods.
- Boarding: When the pods have been deployed there is just a smaller door preventing others from getting through and into the ship. As opposed to hangers and more protected areas.
Designed to be an advanced upgrade for ships, a thick attachment that connects ot the underside of the ship and is equipped with deployable drop pods for personnel and armor pods. The frame is not that protected being just a massive box and staging area adding a difficulty to turn and move around with increased speed for themselves. The engineers at Saotome themselves were allowing them to create a newer method of building ships. Detaching the Orissa is a dangerous method as it is hooked to the ships power systems and docking tubes. The vulnerability of it after pods are deployed is also an important thing to note for possible boarding parties. The areas are open and easier to access over hanger bays and airlocks that are heavily defended.
The years of use and additional testing have improved the design until it has changed significantly... With most of the problems still there but the metal used has become stronger and it adds a small grroup of different drop pods that have been developed for just about any purposes. THe Orissa itself is available to many ships as the smallest model of it can go to corvettes with just a fe along the bottom for ones that do not go planetside. The advances in drop pods technologies of course will improve how the deployment system can be used and armed as it were. With more refined and advanced ones taking up less space allowing more of them to be put onto the frame and then sent down to planets.
THe years of use have continued to be kind to it with newer materials designed for it... improved fabrication and deployment technologies as well as just its technology in general. The Orissa is impressive and able to be put on aany sized vessels almost now.
