Intent: To develop components for future projects
Development Thread:
Manufacturer: Sasori Research/Saotome Foundry
Model: Stealth Plating
Affiliation: Private Market
Modularity: Variable polymer for armor, vehicle and ship hulls
Production: Limited
Material:
Classification: Anti-Sensor
Weight: 2.5kg
Quality:
  • .5 (Polymer)
  • 10 (Synthmesh)
Special Features:
  • Difficult to detect in sensor range
  • Black coating is hard to see with the eye
  • Lightweight
  • Very protective
Strengths:
  • Improves Stealth Ships/Armor/Vehicles
  • Recoils Darksiders
Weaknesses:
  • Sensible by any force users
  • Can spider web when attacked
  • The closer you get to it the less effective the polymer can become
Description: Developed by Saotome for projects involving armor, vehicles and ships. The polymer goes over the armor plating providing enhancement of stealth fields by blocking sensors and improving the stealthy quality with a black surface. THe polymer itself is not that strong able to withstand on contact very little in terms of offensive damage. THe meshed metal underneath it however is a different story altogether as it is made from the Sasori synthmesh allowing superior protection but if the polymer is struck it can spider web and crack or scrap off. The synthmesh underneath also making it so the lightsiders wearing it are unable to be hidden in the force regardless of what they are wearing to allow them to move around unnoticed. This means dispersers and taozins become next to useless in exchange for the synthmeshes advanced levels of protection and restrictions. Neutrals and darksiders feeling unease and queasy when in contact with it as only those who follow the light are able to use the product. With more work being done including supplies retrieved and processed on one fo the larger stations. it has been being developed to provide more for everyone that will be usable on different ships and vehicles. The main work so it can go onto a new line of ships.

Could you elaborate on how these two headings interact? I haven't seen many semi-unique items applied to cover such a variety of objects. Is it just that it's currently undecided as to what this will applied to? Or is it something else, like establishing the first examples of the material?

Blocks Sensors

Blocing, or a lack of return, in and of itself can be a reading with some sensors. I'd recommend changing "blocking" to something like "difficult to detect at range with sensor equipment", which is how it is described as covering the Singularity.

Please mention something about how range plays into its effectiveness. Stygian polymer becomes less effective the closer one gets to it.

I am mostly just trying to say what this sub can be used for in the future so there is no "well it doesn't say this" or "it said this and not that"
Cool. Since this appears to use stygium, future submissions using this will also probably need to meet the stygium development requirement, but that's otherwise all right.

Stygian triprismatic polymer and Stygium are two entirely different materials which bear absolutely no relation to the other aside from their role as materials used in stealth vessels.

Is this submission utilizing Stygium or not?

Quiet said:
[member="Lily Kuhn"] yes it does, and last time I used the polymer in a sub a stygium dev thread was required so I went for consistency.
Can you link me to that submission? That being said, if the intent is to utilize Stygium, please list Stygium as a material.

Thank you. In future uses of the stygian triprismatic polymer you are welcome to utilize it without doing a development thread that is specifically to complete a Stygium objective as they are not the same materials. You may still be requested to do a development thread, as it provides stealth features, but a stygium thread will not be required.
