ADVANCED SYSTEMS
Highly Destructive Main Composite beam Turbolasers based off Republic Artillery Tanks, scaled to capital ship size. Capable of doing heavy damage to capital ship armor and shields
Nearly a Legion of War Droids in storage for limited ground operations
Minimal number of essential main crew
Powerful security teams to resist boarding attempts
Mine Layer Equipped with gravity mines
Powerful shielding that recharges from hits on it by energy weapons
Modern manufacturing techniques enable ship to be mass Produced at only a quarter the cost of the Original Arquitens Cruiser
STRENGTHS
Die, Capital Ship, Die!: It's Powerful Composite Beam Turbolasers are directly scaled up versions of Cannons used in the clone wars, firing powerful blue beams that have twice the range of normal Weapons in this class. Since there are few other weapons to drain power into, the main laser weapons can fire once every minute and thirty seconds, and can fire both at the same time or sequentially. One Frigate is capable of putting a dent in the shields and hulls of vessels much larger and more well armed, such as Star Destroyers. Three can cause significant damage to one. Four is a potentially deadly threat, and Six is capable of threatening even the most well protected Battle Cruisers
Mine Field: Has a payload of gravity mines to help pull ships out of hyperspace
Defenses: Cheap but high strength Durasteel Matrix Armor combined with powerful Molecular shielding that allows it's shields to regenerate quickly from minor energy attacks less than that of a heavy Turbolaser, by siphoning some of that power and recycling it into the shield system to build back up to full strength in potentially a matter of minutes. Also Possesses multiple point defense laser cannons
Invader: Able to land and take off in atmosphere...and deposit a legion of deadly Battle Droids
Agile: Good Manueverability due to Repulsor engines enabling quick turns
Fast Repair: Due to its cheap, but ruggedly powerful design, parts to repair it can be found nearly anywhere or easily purchased, even salvaged from space wreckage. It's very difficult to keep this cheap cruiser out of action for very long
WEAKNESSES
Directional Weakness: It's main weapons can only face forward, meaning it must be constantly repositioning itself to get a better shot, meaning it may have to leave a more desirable spot.
Speed: Great at turns, but somewhat slow otherwise due to the focus on weaponry and defense
No missiles: Lacks missiles and Torpedoes to cut costs.
Shield Overload: It's Molecular Shielding will see it through most skirmishes, but direct hits from heavier weapons on larger ships can quickly overwhelm the shielding, especially if multiple targets are firing on it. While it's shielding CAN survive hits from larger weapons, they regenerate much more slowly than usual. If it overloads, the only thing left protecting it is heavy Durasteel Matrix Armor
Ion: It's shields are vulnerable to Ion Weaponry
DESCRIPTION
Sarka Class Frigates: Wanna fry Lobsters or just people in general but don't wanna spend too much? Take this ship for a spin: Our ship is built as a Deniable Asset for taking horrible revenge on The Lobsters or anyone else who's stupid enough to piss you off!
--Sales Pitch
The Sarka Class Frigate, named in memory of the tragedy of the battle of Sarka, is based off the Clone Wars era Arquitens Class Cruisers. Often built from recycled parts, or reproductions, These cruisers are built without serial numbers on any of the parts or any maker identification symbols, so it may serve as a deniable asset to whoever purchases it...the technology that it uses is all old school but still powerful and reliable, so if one is lost or captured, the enemy doesn't really gain any great leaps in tech. For those who just need warships that get the job done, and don't want it traced back to any factions they work for, this is your ship.
Modern manufacturing techniques and the use of only sturdy, reliable parts of relatively high quality material (for a ship with it's particular duties) mean it can be manufactured at only a quarter the cost of an original Arquitens Cruiser, making this ship far cheaper an option to throw at a problem like a Star Destroyer than you would first think (Estimated cost is 1,333,333.333 Credits)
