OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
The "Sarlaac's reach" is a set of duraplast armored tentacles that were meant as a more immediate form of weapon for battle. Though rather weighty and cumbersome when compared to most weapons, the Sarlaac's Reach was designed to be a stand in for a users physical abilities without simply staying out of the fight. Instead of being based purely on physical skill and strength, the limbs rely on a users awareness, intelligence, and focus, to take down opponents. They are mainly meant to bridge the gap that a wearer might have when fighting stronger species, or to help decrease the numbers disadvantage by the increase of potential attack points due to the length and number of tentacles.
They are designed to come at least with two, attached to a harness and headpiece (or cybernetic attachment) and up to 6, though this would likely be very heavy and cumbersome and make just walking around with them a struggle. Just three would be typically heavier than anything but rocket launchers or heavy repeaters. The reason two is the standard minimum, is that the force of the tentacles, and their motion around a room, could easily throw the wearer off their feet. As a result the extra arm or arms may be used to keep them planted.
The design was originally considered as relevant due to Mariah's experience with creating droids that could be directly controlled via a headpiece as she did with White-5. She wanted something that would help allow her to actually defend herself effectively were an enemy to get in close that could also serve non-lethally if need be. Though this wouldn't necessarily mean non-painfully, as while effective for destructive purposes, the limbs, but especially the manipulators, had trouble with delicacy and reduction of how much pressure was used.
The materials of choice came around due to how they were meant to be used. If a weapon could simply be blast away while trying to get into gripping or hitting range it needed to be sturdy. Especially due to a concern of fighting sith or jedi, having a weapon that wouldn't simply be shredded upon getting in lightsaber range was absolutely necessary. Though not completely invulnerable to such weapons, they were deemed sturdy enough to be useful.
- Intent: An unusual kind of weapon that relies on the mind rather than the body for effective use.

- Manufacturer: Designed by Mariah Marr. Katitik Hive Industries
- Affiliation: Designs can be bought on the holonet for a small price.
- Market Status: Open market
- Model: Sarlaacs reach
- Modularity: 2-6 limbs.
- Designed for harnass but could be integrated to an armor.
- May be blades or manipulators.
- Smaller versions are available to reduce the weight and cumbersomeness but these would also be weaker.
- May connect to mind either via headpiece with the set, or via cybernetics.
- Production: Mass Produced
- Material: Reinforced Duraplast, titanium.
- Classification: Battle Tentacle
- Size: Large-very large
- Weight: Heavy-very heavy.
- Arms of duraplast and titanium designed to be used in combat against multiple enemies or enemies of much greater strength than the user as the tentacles are generally much faster and stronger than most organic limbs. These are attached to a harness and headpiece, or can be connected to an armor. And instead of a headpiece, cybernetic connections could be used in its place.
- Mind/nerve controlled allows more seamless control of a user who understands how to use the limbs proper.y.
- Considerable physical strength, meant to be used to either restrain, batter, or stab using pure force into enemies. The option of blades is much easier to maintain and avoid damaging, as well as generally more deadly.
- Paralysis of the limbs wouldn't stop the tentacles from being useful unless it came from preventing the choice to be made, or the connection to the sarlacc limbs was somehow prevented.
- Though Duraplast is resistant to emp/ion effects. Due to the many moving parts they still cause delays in the tentacles function time when hit.
- Weight of the limbs can become very problematic, especially if not properly attached.
- Though they can be equipped with manipulators, these are designed for grabbing enemies or weapons. The manipulators are almost impossible to be used delicately.
- Due to relying on a users choice/mind things that mess with them can seriously confuse the tentacles either resulting in no reaction to the user at all or making them simply do things they shouldn't. It is strongly not advised to be used while sleeping since unlike an organic limb, it will not be prevented from moving during sleep.
- Though much more durable than a standard blade against a lightsaber, the duraplast is not completely immune. Maintained contact runs considerable risk of cutting into the tentacles, or frying the electronics inside.
