Character Sarrius Daruna

c1ou6nm.jpg

    • NAME: Sarrius Daruna
    • ALIASES: N/A
    • BIOLOGICAL AGE: 19 GSY
    • CHRONOLOGICAL AGE: 5874 GSY
    • HOMEWORLD: Korriban

    • SEX: Male
    • SPECIES: Sith Pureblood
    • EYES: Orange
    • HAIR: Ashen-Grey
    • SKIN: Pinkish-Red
    • HEIGHT: 198 cm
    • BUILD: Athletic

    • Friends:
      • Asocial even by Sith standards, Sarrius has few allies and fewer friends, most of which are using him and/or being used by him. He has no power structure to speak of, but is adept at beating slaves into submission.
    • Foes:
      • Aaran Tafo Aaran Tafo (BIO): Sarrius absolutely loathes Padawan Tafo, having fought him twice and been thoroughly infuriated on both occasions, first when the Jedi surrendered an arena battle without a satisfying resolution and the second when he rudely threw an impact grenade at Sarrius during the Second Battle of Mandalore, gravely wounding him.

    • Alignment: Chaotic Evil; fuelled by his own selfish desires and largely unconcerned with rules or tradition.
    • Personality Traits: Predatory, Bloodthirsty, Asocial, and Fiercely Competitive.
    • Personality Profile:
      • A highly disturbed individual from another time, Acolyte Daruna was moulded into a weapon practically from birth and is decidedly unprepared for the realities of our more civilised age. He is intensely competitive yet largely unconcerned with fairness. His violent tendencies are hardly unheard off for Sith, but his lack of respect for social structures makes him a potentially dangerous entity. That said, I see no reason why he should not be permitted to join our noble Order so long as he is delegated to suitable duties - we always need more fodder for the war (there is always a war), no?

    • FORCE PROWESS: Apprentice
    • ALIGNMENT: Dark Side
    • FAVOURED FORM: TBD
    • SKILLS
      • Proficient with lightsabers, swords, and the Sith lanvarok.
      • Decent alchemist, proficient in Sith Magic and Kissai rituals.
      • Academic fluency in Sith and High Sith, low-native level fluency in Basic.
    • FORCE ABILITIES
      • Significant aptitude for Telekinesis, Force Speed, Force Sense, and Force Stealth.

    • BRUTALITY: A talented and versatile combatant, Sarrius has been trained from childhood to achieve the level of martial skill and emotional detachment needed to end a fight quickly.
    • ANCIENT ARTS: Having been inducted into the ranks of the ancient and modern Sith both, Sarrius is in an excellent position to make use of the methods of either for his own benefit.
    • LONG SLUMBER: Having spent close to six millennia encased in carbonite beneath the dunes of Korriban, Sarrius is a stranger to modern society and technology.
    • LANDLUBBER: A native of a time when battleships were slightly over two-hundred metres long and starfighters were all but unheard of, Sarrius is a predictably awful pilot.

    • The Grey Reaver, Tammar-class Corvette: Patchwork blockade runner constructed from the remnants of rebel vessels and staffed entirely by slaves and press-ganged "volunteers". Compensates for the lack of hangar space by magnetically locking a tiny in-system shuttle to an airlock and hoping it doesn't fall off during Hyperspace jumps. Often used for "privateering" and rounding up slaves - inexperienced and poorly motivated crew could prove a problem in a real fight.
    • Sarrius' Maw: Lightsaber crystal that drains the life force of its victims. Pretty fething unhealthy to use.

    • KILLS: N/A
    • BOUNTIES COLLECTED: N/A
    • AVATAR SOURCE: Unknown
    • FORMATTING INSPIRATION: Jaivant Graush

STORY & THREADS:
Prelude, Warriors of Old:
Threads:
  1. N/A
Chapter Summary:
  • Long ago, before even the Great Hyperspace War, Sarrius was born in the household of a minor noble on the planet of Korriban, trained from birth to wield the power of the Dark Side, like so many of his ancestors before him. Like his ancestors before him, he too was encouraged to push at the boundaries of the natural, to practice the ancient art of Alchemy and the strange rituals of the Kissai. His family was not only interested in the secrets of the Dark Side, however, but also in political power - it was this pursuit that would, eventually, cost them dearly.
  • Having aligned themselves with the enemies of Marka Ragnos, his continuing survival and the death of many of his enemies left them in a very tenuous position, which was partially responsible for Sarrius becoming the apprentice of Drath Krenok, a staunch opponent of Ragnos and a powerful Sith Lord in his own right. It was this apprenticeship that would lead to the young Sith being interred with Krenok's vast armies for what was meant to be a hundred-year slumber followed by a quick and brutal coup. Alas, fate (and Ragnos' saboteurs) had other plans.
  • ^^ Make more vague, see Awakening.
Chapter I, Awakening:
Threads:
  1. Awakening [Faction | Incomplete]: "Sarrius awook-- Korrib... wArf~ [Temporal Anomaly Detected]."
  2. Matter of Legacy [Dominion | Complete]: "A stranger in a much-changed galaxy, Sarrius travels to Cathar in search of warriors worth testing himself against, but finds a bloody good feast instead - after an "appetiser" of violence, that is."
  3. Darkness Rises [Invasion | Complete]: "Still struggling to find his place in this new Sith Empire, Sarrius accompanies the invasion fleet to Kintan, finding worthy prey in a Mandalorian Alor named Taozi Fuyuan - alas, their battle ended in a draw. Another day."
  4. 1st Royal Open [Private | Complete]: "Seeking to test himself in a nonlethal tournament, Sarrius emerges victorious, though the lack of direct physical confrontation with his foes leaves him more frustrated than celebratory."
  5. The Return [Invasion | Complete]: "After interrogating a Mandalorian prisoner, Sarrius joins the battle for Mandalore, though an encounter with a modern grenade leaves him unable to do much more than raise a few zombies."
  6. Keepers of the Sith Code [Faction, Complete]: "Sarrius attends a Qotsisajakaar meeting, but makes no commitment one way or another."
  7. This Is The Time [Dominion, Complete]: "Sarrius accidentally involves himself in a base-building mission, but is, fortunately, able to relish in the bloodshed he so adores when rebels attack their staging ground. He makes exactly zero friends or allies in the Legion."

I'm sorry. Sorry. So sorry.
I didn't want to die.
...

GENERAL
Moniker: Levin Kraviz, aka Leech
Species: Human (Minor Mutations)
Homeworld: Coruscant (Underworld)
Affiliation: Unaffiliated
Height: 1.73 metres
Build: Scraggy
Skin: Pallid
Age: Young Adult

PERSONALITY
Traits: Skittish, Cunning, Untrusting.
Likes: Secrets, Safety, and Old Things.
Dislikes: Open Spaces and Vulnerability.
Tropes: Street Urchin & Your Soul Is Mine!
Theme Song: Bones by NateWantsToBattle

TRAITS & FLAWS

  • Death Serves: Levin walks the path of the necromancer and so knows how to use the dead and dying to his benefit.
  • Soul-Eater: Levin has learned how to drain the life from others by necessity - a weakened Sith spirit clings to his body.
  • Feeble Form: Levin is physically frail and frequently sick - and his use of the Dark Side certainly isn't helping.
CONNECTIONS
  • Darth Zuech, the parasitic Sith spirit that inhabited Levin's body during his (very literal) near-death experience. In life, he was a self-proclaimed Darth of middling skill and no particular renown. In death, he has largely been forgotten. In undeath, he lacks the cohesion to wrench control of his host's body, relegating him to riding shotgun as a street urchin kind of obeys his teachings.
POSSESSIONS
  • The Holocron of Darth Zuech; partially broken.
  • A poorly-maintained blaster pistol and several vibrodaggers.
  • A Coruscanti public transportation card in someone else's name.
  • A handful of low-value credsticks.
BIOGRAPHY
The Coruscant Underworld is a nasty place to live and a worse place to grow up.

The government 'up top' occasionally tried their best to improve the situation, but aeons of corruption, millennia of delayed maintenance, and untold generations of organised crime had solidified the lake of misery that is the Underworld. To fully resolve the situation would be an enormous undertaking and one that would need to be sustained over decades or more likely centuries.

As such there was nothing unusual about the fact that nothing tangibly improved in Levin's case - the fact that life was a struggle and that the strong took what they wanted was as firmly ingrained in the young man as the act of walking or breathing.

Still, things could always get worse.

Levin learned that when he found the Object while scavenging the dusty leftovers of the One Sith's reign of terror over 'the Queen of the Core.' A small pyramid made of strange metals and expensive-looking red glass, he had been sure he'd hit the jackpot. Instead, he found the life being ripped from his already sickly body by the ravenous sorceries of the Sith.

When he came to he had already been thrown into a pile of bodies - his body ached, he coughed up blood, and a faint voice began to order him around. At the voice's urging, he reached out for the bodies surrounding him and fed on the last scraps of life in their bodies. As they were drained dry, he was restored. To an extent. Apparently, 'Necromancy is not an exact science'.

Eventually, he made it back to the closest thing he had to a family, but the hunger persisted - a hunger food could not sate. In time his weakening condition and the constant whispers drove him to ---
I'm sorry. Sorry. So sorry. I didn't want to die.

Needless to say, he is eager to distance himself from his past life.
TL;DR: Grew up in the Coruscant Underworld. Found a One Sith holocron, but it had a spirit in it; drained his life, but taught him how to drain the dead in turn to save himself. Whoops, killed the closest thing he had to a family. Just Darksider things, amirite?

Have you ever seen anything so boring? The architect deserves to be shot.
Spiritual significance? Oh come off it, spiritual doesn't have to be bland!

GENERAL
Moniker: Felix Astermo
Species: Human
Homeworld: TBD; Alderaan?
Allegiance: Self-Realisation
Height: Rather Tall
Build: Lithely Fit
Skin: Healthy Tan
Eyes: Gleaming Gold
Hair: Perpetually Messy
Age: Neither old nor wise.

PERSONALITY
Traits: Ambitious, Distractible, and Vain.
Likes: Luxury, Creativity, and Beauty.
Dislikes: Restrictions and Blandness.
Tropes: Mad Artist & Brilliant, but Lazy.
Theme Song: Glitter & Gold by Barns Courtney

TRAITS & FLAWS

  • Alchemical Artistry: Felix has a knack for 'reality alterations'; while still a mere novice, he has a few tricks up his sleeve.
  • Creative Soul: Felix has ideas aplenty. Good ideas? Yes! Terrible ideas? Also yes! Ask forgiveness, not permission.
  • Feckless Dilletante: Felix can commit to a goal with obsessive focus... right up until something new catches his fancy.
CONNECTIONS
  • Felix has plenty of friends, at least according to himself. Sure, he's burned a few bridges, but who hasn't?
POSSESSIONS
  • 'Introductory Occultism' by Kal of Masque; Chapter Four has some great ideas, but he can do better!
  • A Force-imbued sword... well, it's actually more of a dagger. Also, it's a work in progress. Sharp, though - and pretty!
  • A chemistry set! It's not quite standard, mind you. Lots of fun additions. Illegal? Maybe, maybe, who can say?
BIOGRAPHY
Without the Force, would he have been a painter? A sculptor? An engineer?

Whatever his fate, it would have been dreadfully mundane compared to what he views as his new destiny. From humble (middle-class) origins, this (self-proclaimed) once-in-a-generation genius endeavours to dazzle the galaxy with wondrous arts and unrestrained creativity.

Naturally, such brilliance will not shine unopposed. There will be those who raise questions of morality or pedantically pull forth restrictions from dusty criminal codes. Felix is all too happy to convince them of the error of their ways. A natural-born philosopher (or so he says), he will field their questions, evaluate their arguments on their merits, and (in all likelihood) proceed to do exactly what he was planning to do in the first place.

After all, people who spend their lives fuzzing over the opinions of killjoys never achieve their dreams!
