- Requires Connection to the Force: For the synthweave effects to function within it the material needs to be able to feel the force energies around it. Vong tech, yalisimiri, voidstone, dampening fields are all counter to what the material can handle.
- Self repairing: While it can repair its own micro stress fractures the capabilities can take days to hours depending on how damaged they become from use.
- Exotic Particles: Largely unknown and not seen in the galaxy before. It isn't invincible nor is it really strong but it reacts violently near dark and anti-matter which can disrupt and destroy it or even cause it to rupture and disintegrate.

Designed by Sasori as part of the robe series and made to be more special at that. The Shan Robes are inspired and designed in the form of robes worn by Bastila one of the stronger battle meditators within the jedi order. Sleek and form fitted offering protection like normal robes but when focused on and using the force can enhancew the mental prowess of those wearing it to let them cover vast areas with the skill. The robes themselves availability wise are small scale with only a few jedi who know the skill able to get a set for themselves. The basics of the robes are to function outside of meditation with a field kit and clasps to hold equipment. An interface to bring up communications and tactical reports in the field or connect to computers and be able to look up information.
With the creation of new materials and expanded knowledge from different sources the jedi from Sasori have been able to greatly modify and enhance the robes. Holocrons from other masters who had skills not unlike pushed the limits of what they would be able to do. These robes are designed to be highly specialized and augment some of the rare talents of battle meditation that the jedi are better able to handle and succeed with. THey have given it better protective qualities and it is augmented to better enhance the force while lessening the mental strain of using it. Keeping the user conscious if they are using powerful techniques that require them to largely be stationary. They even used other techniques that are similar to battle meditation to improve it and make it so the Shan robes offer a choice in how to approach a situation.
