Saturday Night Role-Play

Flags sporting the Republic symbol littered the upper levels of Coruscant as Teferi watched the parade from a balcony. This particular day was that of a joyous occasion, though the small green Jedi Master didn't feel an ounce of it permeating in his heart. The empty skyline, devoid of the pylons of the once great Jedi Temple, was depressing for his eyes. The memories of an age long past, when men and women told stories of the heroes of the Republic. A galaxy that had long been terrorized by an illness none could overcome.

“Hear, hear!” Cried a citizen in the background as several other prominent people dined in Senate's Grand Hall. “Glory to this new Republic, and long live the brave, the bold General Dex!” Many others lifted their glasses and rejoiced, feasting upon the wonderful feast that had been prepared for the many signing authorities on this new Declaration of the Republic. For that's what they had gathered here today for. This was why Teferi had been summoned.

The Jedi were to once again become peacekeepers of the Republic, protectors of the Peace. Teferi closed his eyes, resting his small green digits on the balcony. Darkness, he felt. Troubled, he was. Something sinister moved in the shadows. The Dark Side clouded Teferi's gaze into the the future. There was nothing to see, nothing at all... only the whispers of a threat dragging it's hand of evil across the window pane of peace.

Teferi looked back to the Grand Hall. It seemed as if the feast were wrapping up and many were moving towards the Chancellor's Chambers, the place they had designated to all formally stand and swear their allegiance to this new Republic, as well as signing the Declaration. Teferi nodded to a Padawan. The majority of Jedi would stand guard here in the Senate, and the Padawan left to go inform them of the actions of the Senators.

“A bad feeling about this, I have...” Teferi looked back out towards the horizon, deep in thought.

Minutes later Hulnok came on to the balcony after he sensed the masters presence "Is something the matter master Efreet?" He said as he leaned over the railing next to Teferi.

Kaine Zambrano, known publicly as the Regent Lord of Thyferra, which basically meant he was the equivalent of its ruler and senator, but had not used a title such a senator since only a few years ago it seemed utterly useless since there had been no formal republic as of yet, walked around the banquet hall in his finest vestments, giving the other guests a smile and a wave as he passed. He had noticed many Jedi around the area, but he feared them not, for he was not a Sith, well, in the technical speak of a Sith. He had no control of the force nor held no aura of the dark side around him, yet he had potential within him that was rather untapped, perhaps they would sense that instead. By all means he was just the ruler of Thyferra with an untrained force potential with a handsome face and a reassuring smile.

"Hear, hear! Glory to this new Republic, and long live the brave, the bold General Dex!"

General Dex? Is that the upstart who had begun this reformation of the Republic? I must see him... Thought Kaine to himself as he stopped walker and leaned against the wall, his emerald eyes scanning the assembled crowd. One who really caught Kaine's eye was the squat green midget across the room from him, and Kaine was quite perplexed by this creature, for he had never seen such before in his entire lifetime. However; the creature did remind him of texts of a Jedi who bore a similar appearance that lived during the Clone Wars and the time of the Galactic Empire, a creature that was the leader of the Jedi. Strange, could this creature have the same occupation? Questions and questions, and Kaine was hungering for answers.

As Hulnok walked along side Teferi he noticed several aliens even stranger then himself but in one corner he saw a man in very fine clothes. Excuse me master but who is that senator over there? He is quite strange.

"That is Senator Drigg'bgg'igg'lggle of Anaxes...he wishes to see his fortress cities rise as high as they were before the Four Hundred Year Darkness..."

Teferi made his way towards the Chancellor's Chambers.

Silas Ward

Mandolorian assassin
Up on the building across from the great hall sat Silas Ward, a Mandolorian assassin armed with a deadly sniper ready to kill an entire squad of republic troop with explosive rounds. He slowly picked off groups of troops and senators who arrived late. His real target was Dex, the republic general. He highly doubted the mission's possibility. He decided to wait and see the outcome of the party before striking the fatal blow.

For many years, the fledgling Republic had fought across the galaxy in the name of all that is just. They worked tirelessly to liberate worlds from corrupted regimes, they fought to protect vulnerable systems from raiders and pirates, and they extended aide to all those needing. Yes, for so long the Army of the Republic has been at war against many foes, and this day their efforts would finally pay off. For this day, the worlds they had worked so hard to liberate and defend would come together and join together as kin within the Galactic Republic.

Enter High General Dex Rostu: the veteran at the helm of the Republic's Army. Since the time of his youth, Dex had been apart of the valiant force that worked tirelessly to bring peace, stability, and prosperity to the Galaxy; and over time had been rewarded through his ascension into leadership. The veteran soldier made his entrance within the Senate's Grand Hall with minimal flair or grandeur: simply a man flanked by a cadre of Commandos assigned to keep watch over the evening's preceedings. Upon stepping through the doors, the veteran was greeted by the praise and applause; to which he calmly waved down.

With long, confident strides, the armor-clad veteran traversed the length of the hall, warmly responding to the many greetings which came his way. He made his way towards the Chancellor's Chambers, his pace quickening when he caught sight of an old friend. "Master Tefari!" He said, beaming, "How good it is to see you!"

Within the chancellors chambers sat someone not exactly within the government of the republic. Moridin the Sith Master of the newly reformed Empire sat within the Supreme Chancellors chair, four dead guards laying on the ground strewn about the office being feasted upon by black hound like creatures. The Dreadlord watched patiently as his creatures feast on the dead, blood slowly seeping into the carpeted floor.

He waited for the Jedi, for the governors of this new Republic. He watched the door, his feet upon the desk of the supreme chancellor, and his pups feasting on the guards. The Dreadlord was a patient man.

There was a feeling of unease bubbling forth in the pit of Ned Rostu's stomach, a feeling he was sure his father felt as well...The young Commando was never a large fan of political events, especially those of great magnitude. Someone always got shot, and something would always go wrong. It was because of these unfortunate truths that Ned insisted that he accompany his father to the feast as well that his father wear full protection; for no doubt he would be the target of some malevolence. Ned walked cautiously behind his father, garbed in full combat attire with a blaster rifle within his hands. Sure, some of the politicians exchanged nervous glances when Ned and his squad walked by, but they should all know by now that one could never be too careful.

Whilst they moved, Ned made quiet signals to the nine Commandos following behind him. They constantly scanned the surrounding environment, constantly checked for movement in the shadows, and were constantly on edge. 'Hopefully this ends swiftly...' Ned thought to himself, tightening his grip upon his rifle...but he knew better. Politicians always loved making speeches...

And into the chambers they went, greeted by a truly gruesome sight. Ned readied his blaster rifle and took aim at the one sitting in the Supreme Chancellor's chair (as it was obviously not the female whom Ned had met before). "Steady men..."

"That we do Master Tefari." Dex returned the gesture of respect and motioned for them to continue their approach of the Chancellor's chambers. The doors were opened and the sight was despicable...Dex reached for his utility belt and produced a blaster, gritting his teeth in aggravation. 'Of course something would go wrong...' He muttered to himself. Immediately, he was grateful of his son's insistence that he don his armor for this event, as things were slowly becoming complicated.

The doors to the Chancellor's Chambers opened and Teferi's eyes widened as he looked upon @[member="Moridin"]. The Jedi Master's lightsaber trembled on his belt, and then instantly flew to his open green hand, ignited.

"Returned, the Sith have. Padawan @[member="Hulnok yawon"], escort the General to safety, you will."

Have a job being a guard might have been fun if a crazed assassin wasn't trying to get in to the meeting to murder Dex.
He grabbed his lightsaber to deflect the sniper shots as he ducked under cover.

"Ah, here you all finally are. I was beginning to grow tired." Moridin spoke with glee in his voice, the hounds that had been feasting ceased to do so and looked up at the myriad of republic and Jedi forces. The six beasts came together forming a sort of soft u curve before the other men. Moridin remained behind the desk as the beasts began to growl and snap at the gathering.

The Dreadlord look across the group. He recognized none of them of course, except for one although that species all looked a like. Yoda was the last one that he could recall the name of, beyond that he couldn't really remember any details of the green midgets. He shrugged slightly to himself. "Kill them all"

Moridin spoke again, and his Darkhounds bounded forward intent on slaughter.

Silas Ward

Mandolorian assassin
Silas continued to rain fire upon the entrance of the building his explosive rounds completely decimating the ground in front of the door. "It's time" he said to himself as he used his jet pack to fly into the hall. Once inside he drew his vibroknives and killed some more guards before he locked himself in a walk in supply closet to plan his next move.

"OPEN FIRE!" Ned bellowed, his blaster blazing to life as he squeezed the trigger. His initial shot, which consisted of a default three-round burst, was aimed directly for the skull of the one seated upon the Chancellor's chair. All around him, his squadmates opened fire as well while Ned lunged forward to seize his father's arm and pull him to safety. His squadmates would then cover them as they would move to back out of the room.

The nine Commandos were deadly shots and accurate to a fault, they lit up the six hounds like shooting fish in a barrel. As it was point blank range, they did their best to hold themselves in a line position and take down the immediate threat while covering the General. "Damn it all..."

Nearby Landing Pad

"Commander!"
"Yes Taylor, I see it. Get all security teams to the General. I want all the gunships in the air and ready for pick-up and dust-off. Officer, get all your men airborne now. We do this by radio and by the book."

Flint Pherson was operating the radio today from the nearby Rally Point. He had not yet heard of any sniper, but the air-waves were now buzzing with messages of trouble. It was time to get the navy's resources moving. And that meant 8-Man Gunships jumping around the clock.

"Taylor. Get me Captain Hawk at Base Echo Zero. I want his men scrambling to their trucks."
"Yes sir. Calling up the Army now."
"Good. Get them on the horn. I want all our resources in coordination. And keep that line open damn it."

It was time to scramble the troops.

Two of the closest hounds were instantly flung backwards into the wall behind @[member="Moridin"] without Teferi so much as lifting a finger. They were instantly torn open by the firing of @[member="Ned Rostu"]'s commandos, as were the next three. Teferi gritted his teeth, staring at the Sith Lord, ready to decimate the master of the dark side with all the power the Force could muster.

It was then that the sixth, and unaccounted wolf, latched onto the little green monk's leg with it's maw and sent him flailing out into the hallway.
