SPECIAL FEATURES
The on-board targeting computers of the Satyr-Class Scout Walker are robust systems, featuring the advanced Sagittarius-Class Targeting System to supplement them. The communications systems of each Minotaur are kept segregated from the rest of the walker’s system - this is to prevent potential remote control or electronic hijacking orchestrated by slicers. Other than this, the Satyr is fairly mundane.
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
- [Strength] The Satyr carries the firepower of an AT-ST with the agility of the AT-RT. It excels in rapid deployment, crossing the battlefield quickly and providing desperately needed fire support.
- [Weakness] Lightly armored, it doesn’t take much to bring down a Satyr. Attacks from small arms don’t do much, but a few hits from a rocket launcher will either bring it down or force it to flee.
The absurdly wealthy or criminal kingpins often think they are out of reach of the Helix Syndicate; that their small legion of mooks and hired guns will keep them safe from Syndicate debt collectors. The Satyr-Class is the second in a series of combat vehicles designed to remind them that no matter how many mercenaries they hire, no matter how much they entrench their hideouts, the Syndicate will reach them. So it’s usually their best option to stick to the payment plan.
Mobility and efficiency are the hallmarks of the Satyr. When a bunch of Enforcers aren’t enough but a Minotaur is too much, the Syndicate sends out a Satyr. The effect is more or less the same: intimidating the hapless into cooperation they might not have normally given. Since the Satyr has a higher speed and is cheaper to manufacture than the Minotaur, it sees much more general use by the Syndicate. Satyrs are used to patrol some of the more expansive Syndicate properties, such as its debtor mines and fighting pits.
In combat, Satyrs are generally able to overcome light forms of resistance with impunity. Infantry, barricades, turrets - these sorts of things are no detriment to the Satyr. Heavily armored vehicles can generally force Satyrs into retreat or destruction with ease, so Satyrs tend to avoid these engagements unless they have overwhelming numbers or plenty of support.
