CJ had never been to the planet of Kashyyyk, homeworld of the mighty Wookies, until now. The mission, she and her fellow Padawan [member="Uri Aureleos"] had been assigned, was to travel to the planet and rescue the cubs of a mighty Wookie Clan from slavers and their Dark Jedi boss. The Jedi Council had reacted quickly to the request by the Chieftain to pursue the matter. The Council and the Wookies had grown a strong bond and the Council wished to continue this.

So when she stepped off the shuttle and onto a wooden platform, she was amazed at both the beauty and size of the trees that littered the landscape. In all her travels across the galaxy, running from one thing or another, she had never been so taken back by the magnificent wonders that stood before her now.

With a small shake of her head, she pulled herself from the captivating scene to the pair of Wookies that were heading toward them. The Chieftain had assured the Jedi Council that he would assign two of his best warriors to act as guides for the two Jedi.

"Uhm. Do you speak the native tongue," CJ inquired of the male Jedi. "Or do we need to pull out the language translator thingy?"

As a sign of respect to the approaching guides, she gave a polite bow of her head.

Uri fell just slightly behind her by a few steps. Any spare moment they had he took a meditative state. Oddly enough meditating more with his eyes open rather than closed. Uri found meditation as the perfect way to past the time on large metal death traps like starships and shuttles. To say he wasn't a fan of the unnatural machines would be an understatement. He never liked them. Never even had the want to pilot one, probably a valuable skill to have but it was one he didn't value at the moment.

Kashyyyk was a welcoming sight. He hadn't been to too many planets that weren't mangled by the Netherworld catastrophe. His eyes took in the size of the trees and the unique design of the Wookiee's homes and then he took a spare moment just to see how high up they were. Don't look down.

His attention returned to CJ as she asked about a translator, "Maybe. Maybe not."

He gave the Wookiees a deep bow himself, "Greetings, do you speak basic?"

The Wookies just grunted and did their cute head nod. Apparently both parties had reach a language barrier. CJ chided herself for not taking time to learn other languages than Basic and the Vahla tongue, but a mental note was made to rectify this. And she was slightly ashamed that the Wookies had spent ages understanding the language of the galaxy while few attempted to learn theirs. CJ raised her hand and fiddled through her robes with the other. After a few seconds, she produced a small device and clipped it to her wrist; then pushed a couple of buttons.

"Ok, let's try this again. Greetings, I am Jedi Ciara Jevnaker, CJ for short, and this is Jedi Uri Aureleos. And you are?"

The taller, and more stockier of the two Wookies, chuffed and grunted.

"Welcome, Jedi. I am called Geyyaddik and this is my lifemate, Mallawarr."

CJ fought back from making a confused expression. She could not tell the difference between male and female Wookies, then again she never made a habit to go checking the undercarriages of powerful warriors. Instead, she extended her left hand out in a friendly gesture and was not surprised by the strength of the grip from the Wookie Mallawarr.

"If you could be so kind, we would like a briefing on what has occurred since the Jedi's last transmission."
