Scarlett Industries were formally known as Zann Industries, but the owner and creator, Scarlett Zann, felt that any public company tagged with the Zann name would also be tagged with its criminal past which is just plain bad for business. While changing the name was a good start, Scarlett Zann also blackmailed and forced a reputable CEO into running her corporation, further legitimizing the business. Although, on the outside, it looks to be a legit manufacturing and supply business, at its core, it is mostly a chop shop and rebranding of competitors product and stolen goods that makes this business venture successful. The Zann Consortiums massive stockpile of captured ships and tech through their various pirating operations, are scrapped and sold through this legitimate business.
