Location: Coruscant High School

Voli leaned against the tree, her earpods pressed firmly in her ears as she observed her fellow students talking to each other, studying on the artificially produced glass, or just taking in the processed air of Coruscant. The school was created during the Old Republic era specifically 100 years before the Clone Wars began. It housed some of the best and brightest people many of which helped shaped the Galaxy for better or for worse. Coruscant High School is a preparatory High School backed by trillionaires and Senators of the Galactic Alliance. It was its own bubble, literally with an electrical dome placed over it school. It was as if one was entering a new planet when entering, the school was filled with sloping lawns, flowerbeds, and vegetable patches. A complete contrast to the city planet of Coruscant.

The facility members claim that this is what Coruscant looked like before the urbanization of the planet. However, Voli doubted it since there was evidence that Coruscant was a snowy planet due to the major ice caps that covered the planet. "It's just shallow trillionaires who want pretty things to look at," the young woman muttered as she slowly banged her head as the music picked up pace. "It's nothing like the original Coruscant."

She took out her notebook which contained drawings of the many monsters and Sith occult symbols that Voli thought up or researched. "Time to finish this little drawing," she said taking out her pencil her gaze focused on the unfinished drawing of a holocron. It appeared in Voli's dreams lately, she saw it while trying to navigate through the darkness. It served as a beacon of light though it didn't give out warm, fuzzy feelings like in those cliched stories. The light that holocron emitted produced dark and visceral feeling inside of Voli. But beneath it all, it provided answers that she was seeking.

Too bad the moment Voli touched the Holocron in her dreams, she woke up. But Voli didn't want to forget, she needed to understand what these dreams all meant. "I've been having these weird thoughts lately......" Voli wrote above the unfinished Holocron. "I can't tell what is real or a dream anymore."

''What weird thoughts?'' Zoey suddenly spoke up behind the other girl, having been leaning towards the other side of the wide tree trunk when the girl came to join but seemingly had not noticed her. ''What's that you're drawing?'' she added with enthusiasm and curiosity, while peeping over the other girls shoulder. Zoey knew that the girls name was Voli Cholrass Voli Cholrass and that they went to the same class, but Voli rarely did any noise and seemed to keep to herself a lot. Zoey were quite the opposite, being outgoing and extrovert while Voli had the traits of a more introvert person. After this year or something they had not exchanged a word to each other, Zoey finally saw the chance to get to know another one of her classmates.

Zoey pulled at the strap of her backpack and let her shoulder roll around the tree trunk making her turn towards the girl. ''You're Voli, right?'' Zoey added and cracked a friendly youthful smile, before offering Voli her hand to shake. ''I'm Zoey. Nice to meet you!''

Being out of that damned school outfit was a boon for Voli. It was the one of the few times that she had to comply with what was considered to be conformity in high society. Wear the outfit or risk getting a verbal lashing from her parents and teachers. Though Courscant High insisted that the uniforms the students wear is a sign of unity and that everyone was equal. Voli could easily see that was a bunch of Bantha chit. It was another way for the school to bleed rich parents dry of their money and it was also their not-so-subtle way to let students know that they were planning on turning them into amorphous, mindless drones who will work to uphold the elite.

Voli continued to close her eyes trying to immerse herself into the music. Her senior year was here and her Mom already had her path set up for her. She was to go take pre-law at the University of Alderaan and then come back to Coruscant where she was to attend law school. Voli had to laugh thinking about it, either Mom could see into the future like a Jedi or she was a control freak. Either way, that life wasn't for Voli no way in hell was she going to defend some accountant who scam clients out of their money. That was how her Mom made her millions by making sure the white collar criminals avoid jail time, and she was really good at it. Sometimes Voli wondered who was actually evil: The Sith? Or the corrupt elites running Coruscant?

"Evil is everywhere," Voli thought. "The Sith embrace it while the rest cower behind it hoping that the darkness will protect them."

But Voli was intrigued by the dark and wasn't afraid of it. What did that make her?

Just then Voli was interrupted by a voice asking about her weird thoughts. "What the?!" She looked up and saw a girl around her age with shoulder length blond hair introducing herself as Zoey Bradiss Zoey Bradiss . Voli paused her eyes grew wide with shock, this was the first time anyone in this school actually came and introduced themselves to her. Given that Voli had the social skills of a misanthrope and dressed and acted weird, it was an uphill battle for Voli to approach people in school much less talk to them.

"S-sorry," Voli shook her head taking out her ear pieces. "I'm not used to people just..... talking to me. I-I'm Voli."

This was harder than she anticipated almost as bad as trying to control her powers. "Worse," Voli thought.

Zoey's eyes widened some at the girls expression, but she had also expected the other girl to be surprised by her slightly sneaky and nosey move.

"S-sorry," Voli shook her head taking out her ear pieces. "I'm not used to people just..... talking to me. I-I'm Voli."

''Heh, no kidding? The teachers have to pull answers out of you, girl...!'' Zoey stated ''I guess that's alright, though! I could be pretty bothered myself with being pointed at in class and mrs. Hallet expecting me to do her work!'' she added with a chuckle as she shook the other girls hand. Zoey had also changed to her own clothes, this new uniform thing splitting the school, the pupils and the parents about them not being allowed to choose their own clothes. For the day, Zoey wore a red t-shirt and blue denim trousers, keeping it rather casual as the hockey captain she were.

''But, duh...? Still haven't answered what you're drawing? Come on, can I have a look?'' Zoey insisted, although friendly to the other girl. ''That's some far out make-up, by the way!'' she added, noting the girls peculiar and bold make-up.

Voli still felt a little awkward being around people, it wasn't like they went out of their way to talk to her. Voli didn't mind since she preferred to be alone and the closest thing to social interaction would be behind a digital screen in her Holoblog. Yet the blonde woman stared a little too close for Voli's liking. "It's private," Voli responded shutting her notebook. "I like to express my thoughts and feelings through art. It's a personal thing..... I hope you understand."

Zoey looked like one of those sporty girls in school, she had that tough exterior about her. Voli never paid much attention to sports often retreating to the library to research more about the dark side and the occult. "Mrs Hallet," Voli sighed remembering Mrs. Hallet's infamous large piles of homework. "Is an out of touch old hag who treats students like a bunch of droids. We're kids for crying out loud we don't need that much homework."

Was it right to say that in front of Zoey? Would she be the type to snitch on the teacher? It wouldn't matter to Voli since she always wanted to tell Hallet that she can stick where the sun don't shine, but if Zoey was truly genuine it did feel a little good to actually vent to a real life human being. "It's much better than online." Voli thought. "You can't punch a person in the face for being an obnoxious windbag."

"It's private," Voli responded shutting her notebook.

Zoey blinked and looked at the other girl with a surprised face, straightening herself up somewhat as she took another step out from the tree. ''Hey, I didn't mean no harm by it...!'' she ensured, still curious about the other girls drawings which looked very good and detailed, but tried to keep her curiosity down for the moment. Voli Cholrass Voli Cholrass had always been the odd bird in class and someone few knew that much about. That easily led to talk and rumors who she really was. Although, Zoey wasn't the one to spread gossip at school because she had both her grades in school and the results in the hockey to think about.

''Sure, I understand... I've seen you draw during class, when mrs. Hallet bore us out with her algebra and other stuff...'' Zoey filled in with an understanding sigh and roll of the eyes as she leaned against the tree with folded arms. ''Oh yeah, I feel you... Her homework could actually be pretty daunting...!'' she said with a chuckle and another roll to her eyes, while happily relieved that they had not got any this particular day. She threw a glance out at the court and the other students about to head home, some gathering up for the last chat for the day. ''So, summer's coming up... Anything special planned?'' Zoey added, trying to reel the other girl in into some small talk. Voli didn't exactly look like the girl enjoying a day under the sun at the beach, but everyone had something planned during the summer break!

Voli was always a little guarded mostly because she was afraid that if Zoey was one of those stereotypical mean girls, then she'll unleash her powers out of anger. She'd been hounded by the so-called popular girls in school for being an "emotionless freak." Honestly Voli was called worse but that didn't mean she didn't feel tempted to use her powers to slam their pretty little heads against the floor. It would be pretty amusing to see their bloodied faces screaming in terror while Voli controlled their bodies like a puppet. Thankfully for them, Voli had spent the past few months learning deep breathing exercises online in order to relax her mind. Those bullies were just trying to get a rise out of her. Zoey on the other hand seemed friendly.

"No, you're fine." Voli placed her notebook inside of her small, black backpack. "It's just that people would try to take my drawings and put it in a toilet just to mess with me. It almost happened a week ago by these gang of girls who were heiress to megacorporations. I managed to evade them though."

The young woman got up and stretched for a bit still wondering why Zoey was still interested in her. All she wanted was to get to her locker, grab her book and go to the theater so she can prepare to watch the next Holomovie but Zoey is throwing a wrench in her plans. "Yeah, I'm just going to work that's all." Voli said. "Aren't you like captain for the Hockey team? Don't you have practice or something?"

"Aren't you like captain for the Hockey team? Don't you have practice or something?"

''Oh, look who's actually into sports!'' Zoey uttered with a chuckle, surprised that Voli knew of her position in the schools hockey team. Surprised, and amused. She certainly didn't mean to beliterate the usually quiet and lone girl. ''You got an eye on things, don't you, Voli? I'm surprised you knew that, but yeah - I am, since a few months.'' Zoey explained, with a bit of pride in her voice. No wonder. She loved every minute spent in a pair of skates. It was a relief and a senctuary from school and things like mrs. Hallets homework. Believe it or not, even if Zoey could be considered as one of the more popular girls in school, she have had her fair share of drama and genesis. Like the time she got in between Caleb Windsdale and Lora. Love could certainly stir up emotions in teenagers like them.

''Uh, nope... This season we practice every primeday and taungsday...'' she replied to Voli, who seemed a little bothered with her presence, which wasn't something that Zoey meant to. Her extrovert person versus Voli's introvert one was sure to challenge the interaction between the two girls. Zoey watched the drawing book being put away and Voli's bothered person. ''Look, I'm throwing a party the week after school's out...! Would you like to come? The more people we become, the merrier!'' she uttered, sincerely wanting the mysterical yet interesting girl to join them. ''And those girls you talk about, I think I know who they are, they are not invited!''

Once again, Voli felt her face heat up. One would think that Voli was on the desert planet of Jakku based on hot she was feeling. Zoey was a little eager to get to know Voli something that intrigued her but at the same time made her cautious. No one in school approached Voli without either asking for a favor or worse, trying to press her buttons. "I'm on the Holonet nearly 24/7," Voli replied curtly. "I occasionally read random tidbits from sports because I get bored not because I'm genuinely interested in it."

Voli paused realizing what she said came across as blunt. "Sorry," she said. "Didn't mean to sound rude, It's just that I don't have a vested interest in sports."

Nor anything else other than the supernatural, movies, and the Dark Side occult. They all made sense to Voli rather than the boring and shallow world that school produced. "I'm not sure that partying is particularly my thing Zoey," Voli whispered looking away from her. "Listen I have to go, I have things to do and books to read."

The young woman got up and straightened her skirt before walking past Zoey. "It's nice meeting you Zoey," she said.

''Alright, that's fair!'' Zoey chirped. ''Some people are just too interested in it!'' she added with a chuckle, thinking about the time she ran into Daiya Daiya trying to steal their trophy on Coruscant. ''You're not rude, not at all! What are you talking about?'' Zoey frowned, surprised the goth girl being to apologetic about herself.

Zoey got slightly confused that she couldn't convince the girl to join in on the fun, but what would she to expect from the silent lone wolf in class? Zoey was determined to at least offer her the hand of friendship, and thinking of it she walked after the silver haired girl.

''School's over for today! Come on! I know it might come as a surprise, but I'd really love if you'd come... Hey, I know! Wanna come over and do the homework at my place? Mom and dad is away for tonight, so we got the apartment all for ourselves!'' Zoey insisted encouragingly as she walked beside Voli.

Zoey was a little too nice for Voli's liking, people aren't usually THAT happy unless they're trying to butter them up. What was Zoey's angle? Was she genuinely trying to make friends? If so, then she has a sickenly sweet way of doing it. "Maybe I'm just not used to people being nice to me." Voli thought.

"I'm..... not much of party goer Zoey," Voli said grabbing her backpack and swinging it over her shoulder. "I like to tell dark and gory stories and investigate the occult and supernatural stuff."

The young woman shook her head. "Just look at me Zoey," she said. "Peel off that hideous school uniform and I'm not exactly what you call normal. But to answer your question...... I guess I can come tonight, just let me get my book from my locker."

That book was the: Book of Sith that Voli found one day while walking to work from school. It was on the middle of the ground as if somebody dropped it. At first, Voli was going to toss the book or return it to the library but reading its contents especially about the views of the Sith, the Dark Side, and Magick grabbed her curiosity especially in light of her growing powers. It provided answers in her time of need and it was the main book she was reading now.

"You wanna come?" Voli asked Zoey. "I guess I can have someone to talk to on my way to my locker."

Zoey looked at Voli with a fake surprise face, but it was not with ill intentions. The two girls were quite the opposite of eachother. Voli being a loner at school and the oddball in a group of people, definitely qualifying into that introvert category of kids, and Zoey being that social outgoing type of girl with a solid hobby. It would have been hilariously fun to get Voli up in a pair of skates. In fact, Zoey could picture it in front of her eyes. However, Zoey would be the one to teach her to properly handle a stick and a puck if she ever got the opportunity to.

''Far out! Supernatural? How do you do that? Like... Ouija board and that stuff? That's cool! I'm not kidding!'' Zoey stated with enthusiasm as they begun their stroll, Zoey agreeing to accompany Voli back to her locker to get that book.

''And hey, I think we're all a bit weird in our own way... Just look at me, I'm not the most feminine girl in class... and I've been taunted for it by the older girls...'' Zoey explained, trying her best to encourage Voli, thinking about that time she had stood up to Lora, the schools hottie in many guys eyes. ''I'm not backing down, though... I do what I like and live the way I want... for good and bad, I guess...'' she continued, being unable to think about Caleb as she did so.

''We got a pretty big appartment... If you want, you can just stick close to me... You'll be alright...!'' Zoey added and nudged Voli playfully in the side.

Voli gave an uneasy grin to Zoey when she expressed enthusiasm about her hobbies. It sounded enthusiastic but it was hard to tell, Voli wasn't really good at reading people. "Thanks," Voli responded beginning to gingerly walk towards her locker. It was difficult processing the fact that there was one person who didn't think she was weird. While Voli was happy to be the only one with unusual tastes, It did feel good to actually have somebody who didn't think that she was a freak.

"You're more feminine than me Zoey," Voli responded adjusting her backpack. "Look at me, goth girl ain't exactly appealing to the vapid husks known as the popular girls in school."

She gave a small chuckle at what she said. "I'm glad that you're staying true to yourself though," Voli mumbled. "Don't let anyone tell you different, your best friend and worst enemy is yourself."

It was something that she latched onto for her time in High School. That statement served Voli well and hopefully it'll resonate with Zoey. "How big is this apartment?" Voli asked. "We're all rich kids here so a big apartment is probably regular sized apartment to the average joe here."

''Hey! You're unique, that's what counts! Lora and the others are just... square! Kriff, that bully think she could get whoever she wants... Wrapping anyone around her little finger! You know what I mean?'' Zoey countered, trying to encourage them to think bigger of themselves.

"I'm glad that you're staying true to yourself though," Voli mumbled. "Don't let anyone tell you different, your best friend and worst enemy is yourself."

''Wow...! Didn't know you were quite the poetic too, Voli!'' Zoey chuckled as they landed by the goth girls locker. The corridor was quite uncrowded this time of the day, only a couple of students passed by, some who Zoey knew and greeted as they passed. Zoey leaned against the row of lockers beside it, but couldn't keep herself from trying to peek around the locker door to see what her new friend had in it. Probably not boy band posters, if she had to guess. Curious or nosey would be in the eye of the beholder, but what would you expect from an outgoing sixteen year old like Zoey? She didn't do it with ill intentions, though!

''Oh... It's big enough, I think!'' Zoey uttered, not really old enough to be the judge of what a big apartment should be. Considering her family were wealthy business owners, she guessed it would be big enough to host a party for her class and other friends. ''If it gets too crowded for you, you can take refuge to my room...!'' she suggested, adjusting the books and the datapad she were carrying in her arms.

Voli wondered if she was turning into a Tomato based on how hot her face was. It was one thing to have somebody talk to her, it was another to hear a person praise Voli's work without some sarcastic tone in their voice. "Thanks." Voli looked down as she quickened her pace. "I'm guessing the party is going to be a typical affair of frat boy antics and women showing off their tits."

She always had a low opinion of high school parties, Voli read too many articles of students getting arrested because of they made too much of a ruckus. "I'm sure you'll have a fair share of guys in that party." Voli muttered. "You got a boyfriend or something?"

Zoey couldn't help but laugh a bit, but then looked somewhat surprised and perplexed by the girls assertion. ''Stars, no! What makes you think that?'' Zoey uttered, frowning slightly upon the goth girl. ''Do I look like the one hosting those kind of parties? Besides, most of the girls in the team are already going steady, so...!''

''As I said, most ones are going steady... but, uhh, me...?'' Zoey repeated and tightened the grip on her books while adjusting her postition against the locker. ''Well, I thought I had something going with, you know... Caleb in the third grade... but, I guess it didn't turn out as expected, things got crazy between him, I and his ex Lora, and he moved... I guess, that's life, huh?'' she explained and mustered up a smile while thinking of the older boy in school making her heart make some extra beats. Shenanigans at school had forced him to move to another school, and acted really wierd as he did so, so Zoey had few hopes to actually keep in touch with the charming boy. ''What about you then, Voli? I bet a lot of guys would be interested in you! I mean, there's a lot of like... mystery around you, and stars even I kind of dig that!'' she added, casually having a look around at the other students passing by.

"Not surprising," Voli rolled her eyes at that remark. Most girls were always interested in talking about boys rather than their studies or anything else for that matter. Sometimes Voli was increasingly convinced that she was the only one who's not shackled to the more..... simple pleasures and instead is more interested in exploring above and beyond like the supernatural. "Or my powers," Voli thought

"I wonder how many unwanted pregnancies will happen as a result of that party," Voli mumbled. "All of a sudden I don't feel like going, sounds like one big sex romp..... no offense personally Zoey."

The young woman felt her ears redden when Zoey asked if SHE had a boyfriend. Ugh! She shouldn't see that one coming. OF COURSE Zoey was going to counteract with a similar question. "I'm not interested in dating," Voli said looking down on the ground. "I just find it a waste."

Truth be told, many boys she encountered had Asteroids for brains and therefore aren't worth her time. "But I guess if we're talking about the dating scene," Voli shrugged. "I've heard Mel Biesling was on the dating market. Make of that of what you will."
