Private Science, Not Fairytales

Xanatos Stones

Everyone needed a break from work now and then. Even those that were workaholics like Lianna. This week had been a tough one. A new project had been thrown onto her lap by a mysterious donor and she had yet to find the specific specimen required. Yes she had been given the details of a specific ship, but each time the teams she had sent out closed in on it, the ship would jump into hyperspace again. Perhaps she needed to hire some bounty hunters to go after Cade Orion Cade Orion 's ship. They'd probably be more successful. And it wasn't as though she couldn't afford to pay...

But that could be decided tomorrow.

Tonight she needed to give her mind a break.

Lianna removed her lab coat and put on her leather one, letting her hair down from it's ponytail. She gave her reflection a playful smirk in the mirror. "Care for a drink?...Why, don't mind if I do! I've let my hair down, haven't I?" She chuckled to herself and then left the lab, locking it up behind her. Coruscant was always bustling with activity, no matter the level one resided on. Fortunately for Lianna, she was in the upper levels, which gave her a view of the nightly sky and the plethora of lights from many vessels. She tucked her hands inside of her pockets and began walking along the outside platform that would take her to the closest bar. No doubt it'd probably be packed. The bars here usually were.

Xanatos was here in the bar on Coruscant as he had been looking for a distraction from the numerous problems he had. As he sat down he could feel someone who had the Force near him. A quick glance around and he noticed the untapped potential of Lianna Rose in the crowd. He approached her and prepared to do something unbefitting of someone who had switched to the Light Side of the Force, or rather the Gray. He took off the cloak and let his wings fly outward, leathery ones that would scare most people. The Avornians normally wouldn't show their wings to anyone, but meh. "You know, I sense an energy from you that I myself also possess. Would you like to be taught how to use it?" asked Xanatos, as he looked at her. If she said yes, he'd begin her lessons immediately by attacking her with the Force. A bar was a good place for a bar fight, after all.

"I will, if you agree teach you the same way I was taught." By constant beat downs and brutal education he was forced to master the Force Powers he knew. This wasn't going to be fun as he didn't enjoy hitting ladies.

Lianna hadn't even approached the bar yet when Xanatos Stones intercepted her. She looked up at him, ever curious as he revealed his leathery wings. So he wasn't human? This was certainly shaping up to be a weird evening.

The words that spewed forth from his mouth came as quite a surprise. Lianna couldn't help but chuckle. "Out of all the pick up lines that have been known to be said in this bar, that has to be one of the most unique." He was joking, wasn't he? No doubt this was some weird way that those of his species asked a girl to dance or something? "You might want to ease up on the whiskey. It'll help you in more ways than one." Hopefully he didn't fly while drunk. That could end in disaster.

Lianna was clueless about matters pertaining the Force. Her studies had been solely based on science. To her knowledge, she hadn't even come across a Force User before. So of course as Xanatos was offering to train her, she had no idea that he was speaking in regards to the Force.

"I have not touched a drop." He stated as he looked at her. He then pulled out the Lightsaber he had wielded as a Sith. This blade was tossed at her by him. "You have the force and it is dormant. I could awaken it for you. Yet it would cost you. You would be my student. You would obey my every order and lesson."

He readied himself. "Ready for your first lesson in the force?"

Lianna was pretty sure that Xanatos Stones had indeed drank some whiskey. Or maybe he was all spiced up?

The next thing she knew, he was throwing something at her. Lianna was hardly the type to be good at sports. So did she catch the lightsaber? No. It didn't even get close to her fingers as she fumbled with nothing but air. The lightsaber hit the ground, tumbling over itself until it settled. For a second Lianna thought it would ignite, yet it didn't.

Without even realizing that she was holding her breath, Lianna let it out as she picked the lightsaber up and held it out to him. The people nearby started to give way, moving to give the two space; something of which she began to feel really subconscious over. "I think you've got me mixed up with someone else...I'm a neurobiologist. I dabble in science, facts and medicine, not....magic and fairytales."

What evidence did he have that she was some silly Force user? None outside of some feeling that he had? Ridiculous. And besides, he wasn't her boss at Centurion Dynamics. He couldn't give her orders.

Yes, she was a stubborn one.

"The Force is an energy field that some can manipulate by means of the Midichlorians within their blood." said Xanatos, as he looked at her. "I sensed a high amount of them from you when I entered this bar." He stated, as he looked at her. "I would like your permission to educate you in the same fashion I was educated in the Force." Xanatos tensed, as he looked at her. "Be warned, said education isn't a kind way, nor is it gentle."

Xanatos sighed as he looked at her for a moment. "The Force requires the right chemicals, and cells in your body to use. I would like you to find a way to amplify mine until I'm a lot stronger as well, with the Force. You know, some sort of force boosting drug?" He asked, as he looked at her. "If you do agree to develop such a thing, I promise that I will use a gentle approach to teach you the Force, rather than the way I was taught. "

Lianna still held out the lightsaber to Xanatos Stones , yet the darn thing felt as though it was getting heavy. Especially as the being in front of her tried to get her permission to be cruel to her? Why would anyone consent to that? The very idea was absurd.

Perhaps this was some kind of joke; a prank by some of her coworkers for them to rattle on about around the watercooler tomorrow. Her eyes darted around as she peered at the crowd, looking for any sign of them.

There was none.

What Xanatos said next sure caught her attention, however. He wanted her to use him as a sort of guineapig to enhance his 'ability' to perform magic tricks. Well that was something that Lianna could easily agree to. "I still think that you've picked out the wrong person. There's no evidence outside of what? Your feelings? But if you want me to work on you in my lab, then yes, I can surely do that. Now will you take back your laser sword, please? It's getting kinda heavy."
