Private Scientists

Kahlil_Div2.png

There were a lot more science inclined Jedi than Kahlil had initially expected. Growing up as a Sith the belief was Jedi were peace loving hippies who denied science in favor of faith. Even now, after decades as a Jedi, it still surprised him to learn there were others who trusted the Force just as much as they trusted science. So why not talk to more? Especially when they asked for him, no less. Cut to him wandering through the Temple on Coruscant in search of the Kaminoan who had asked for his assistance. With what exactly, he wasn't sure. But it would be good to meet another Jedi Master, and one who understood genetics far better than he could. It was one thing to have experience with twisting life as a Sith Alchemist.

Another to have the experience of a cloner. Perhaps together his goal to cure those Sithspawn turned against their will could be given a better platform than his experiments with runes.

"Master Noble," a light voice called, the song echoing off of the temple walls. She wore deep burgundy robes that hung loosely around her thin figure, her long neck craning out from the bundle that made up her long hood. "Thank you for seeing me on such short notice. I know the Shield of the Jedi must be...busy in these final days of war." She bowed slightly from the neck. Kahlil was a rarity among the Jedi. True, there were Jedi such as Thalia Senn Thalia Senn and Rakaan Horne Rakaan Horne who, in either their haste to complete their mission or due to inexperience, are tempted by the dark, but they usually came back these days. Kahlil had been born into the darkness. One could say he was molded by it, one of the darkest blights on the Galaxy since Krayt being the seed that he grew from. Many still did not trust him as coming back from the dead was a trick of the Sith. Those of the Light embraced death and becoming one with the Force.

That only made him more interesting to Lia though. His metamorphosis was indeed rare, like the pearl of a Kamoradon Sea Dragon. Even more valuable was his experience in genetics and Sith Alchemy. Lia smiled, her yellow-orange eyes following the human and shining with glee.

"Not as much as you'd think."

Kahlil chuckled, idly lifting the arm stuck within the sling he still had on. As best he could, anyway. He had yet to get it properly healed after Exegol, but he would get it healed eventually. The Jedi returned the nod, though, the friendly bow. He would for any Jedi.

"So, what is it you need, Master Rai?"

Lia arched a brow at the sling, incredulous.

"Little more than an hour in bacta would fix that. Maybe even a kolcta geltab if the nurse wasn't a complete fool." she shook her head and began to walk towards one of the balcony rooms. "You humans and your obsession with maintaining injuries. There is work to be done." Lia shook her head again. There was no time for this foolishness.

"I wished to speak to you of your challenges and successes in your controversial rehabilitation program for Sithspawn." Frank as she usually was Lia got right to business. It was nearing the evening and the Kaminoan much appreciated the cool, modulated Coruscanti breeze. She'd never much liked how dry the climate controllers kept Coruscant.

"It's more the lack of life than a broken limb. I'm planning to visit the Halls of Healing to see if something can be done with the Force."

Kahlil snickered, just a little. He had no intention of just walking around wounded forever, even with the war finished. He raised a brow, though, as he stepped after her, out onto the balcony, to watch the city. Let his gaze drift for a moment as he mulled it over. Nodded, slowly.

"Alright. Ask away, then."

"What brought you to the idea?" She asked, her brows rising and already enormous eyes expanding in interest. She tapped the tips of her long, slender fingers together in a rhythmic pattern. "I have never practiced the art like yourself, however from my own research in the archives both ancient and contemporary studies show that the way the combination of genetics and Sith alchemy play together make a new whole." She took a seat at one of the tables and gestured for Kahlil to sit.

"Some of posited that the creation of one new being through Sith Alchemy creates a new soul, new life, using the two or more things from before. If you believe in such things as a soul," she waved dismissively. "At least originally. This is why I am so fascinated. What, for example, would be the process of the Tuk'ata, a beast more biological than Force manipulated at this point, look like compared to say a Sith Thrall of a Sith Battlelord?"

"It depends on the practitioner, really. Some use more science in their methods, others, more archaic. I was never much for the genetic side with my own research. I studied the soul, how to move it, how to create a vessel for it, how to reanimate the dead. Creating a new soul, though, that is not an easy task in the slightest. Everything manipulated starts somewhere. An animal, a person, a fungus even. Alchemy rarely is used to create new life, and more just.. Warp it."

Kahlil sat, only wincing briefly as he did so. He was, after all, still in some recovery.

"Depends. They're more natural creatures now, breeding and thriving in places of the dark. The first were made through gene splicing and rituals. A Thrall, though, that's.. Darker. Break a mind, warp a body, and suit both to your needs. There are very few fates worse for a person. Many Jedi would say because they are Sithspawn they should be killed, or at least there were. But.. I don't think they should be abandoned like that."

"Interesting..." Lia muttered, a long, slender finger scratching her chin. More talk of the soul. Supersticious, even for a Jedi. But still, useful information. "Have you completed any experiments? What have you tested your theories on? Surely the Jedi Order doesn't keep Sithspawn lying about..." Maybe within the deepest chambers of the Detention Center where only the Masters of the Temple Guard or the Masters of the Council could venture. But she knew a place where they could be procured if not...
