Scramble the Pieces

It was not usual for Lilin to wander off on her own nowadays. She was really busy with Jedi missions and training and her Padawan all the time, so there really was no time for her to do the things she wanted to, such as exploring and adventuring, grabbing a coffee from a small coffeeshop or anything. And all that work was slowly driving her crazy. Although she loved being a Jedi, she had to take a break every once in a while.

This time, she had ended up on a planet which name she didn't know. It didn't really matter to her, anyway, because she was there on a little mission. Personal mission, that is.

Some quiet whispers had told the woman there was a person there with a ship. A deserter, former member of the One Sith. Lilin loved people who managed to redeem themselves and this was her chance to try redeeming somebody. That was, of course, if she was successful at making the person come over to the Light Side of the Force.

She didn't know the man's name, rank or anything else, really. All she knew was that she was now about to be hunted down by the One Sith due to his escape from the faction. She would let nobody hurt him.

But what the girl was really curious about was the ship. She really wanted to have her personal small-scale crew of people under her command, much like the old Jedi during the Clone Wars had had, and like Aela and Padawan Poof had. She didn't want a ground force, though. She wanted ships.

And now was her chance to do that.

But none of that was going to be easy. She'd asked one individual to join her on the conquest. And she had to admit that most people in the Alliance would have tried to stay away from this individual.

Solan Charr was his name. The Shadow Prince.

"Hello," she greeted the man, dressed in a robe which covered most of her face.

Solan stretched as he heard the voice and looked over from the bench he was sitting on.

When he had first decided to help out the Alliance member, he had decided all the better to get some kind of relationship with them under his feet considering his closeness to their space as well as his future plans. After all, if he was seen as just another Darksider, another speck on their purge list it would endanger more than just himself, it would endanger those who stood around and with him like the people of Kesh and those of his allies. After all, the darkside was one side of the force, and there could not be dark without light, some he hoped to show was not a bad thing.

Well... ok the second reason was that it had been a pretty woman who had contacted him and he could never say no to one.

Either way, his eyes focused in on the face of the woman who had arrived and sitting up he looked at her while running a hand through his hair and fixing the glasses on his face. Unlike her, he was not dressed in robes, but instead tan trousers and a leather jacket with his saber clipped to his side and on the other side a blaster.

"Hello Back, i assume you are the one that contacted me about aid in acquiring ships?"

"That I did," she said, not raising her cloak. She would not be so secretive for the whole mission, but she would in the beginning. After all, there could have been many people there who would start rumours or cause some trouble for the woman. It was the best if she stayed in the shadows for a while, at least until she was no longer in the public where a Jedi could have seen her. Working with Darksiders was an obvious sign of inadequacy as a Jedi Master. They would have stripped her from Force powers or something, she imagined.

But she really needed the ship. And she really needed to work with this man in particular. She would have a chance to redeem the man, she would also have the chance to bring him to the right side of the Force. And if none of that worked, she could bring him to the Alliance. But that was just a side mission. Right now she just needed an ally.

"It will be a rough adventure. Hope you are not afraid of that," she spoke, her tone very quiet and trying to hide any resemblance to her normal voice. Even voice was a thing that could have ruined all of this, even though she had to note that the galaxy was huge and there were probably many with the same voice as hers.

"He's hiding in the local forests, I hear. I hope you are equipped."

She had both of her lightsabers with her just in case she would need them, although she didn't openly showcase them. Because it as well could have ruined the whole mission. She didn't want that.

"Come now, even if i was afraid that would just prove that there is some bit of human still within me would it not?" Solan had the same smile he always wore, part cocky but mostly just a relaxed one as he heard the emotions of every being around him. In truth a manhunt in a forest was to him a massive blessing as his mind grabbed at everyone base most thoughts, those emotions that everyone had. There was one benefit to them though, he could mimic any of those emotions himself 100%, simply using the emotions of others as his own.

That was not important though as he started to push himself up, his hands gripping at the jacket he wore before drawing from it a case to place the glasses on his face in while they walked and got to work. It would be interesting to see how this little break from his recent project would turn out, and he knew something else while he walked next to this person.

To the GA he was a rogue that would need to be dealt with in time, a dark sider that was not under their control and constant watch. He knew wat this would mean for him, especially if he didn't prove himself to them while outside of their watch, much less when he would be given an ultimatum in the future. After all when it came to the Alliance, he had heard rumors about their jedi sect and from what he had heard, it sounded like a bunch of zealots. The only mark of comfort was Taeli being in their ranks, that would give him some measure of reassurance.

With that thought in his head though, he looked at the woman before nodding as to their getting moving. His legs would be bringing him towards the direction they would need to head and his eyes glanced over to her hood as he laughed a little. "You know, its not that embarrassing to hang out with me here, after all we are on a job. Not like your out on the town for your own enjoyment."

"My job would be to bring you to justice. So no, this here is not my job," she added a little snarky remark as the two started moving. They were going to take a completely neutral ship, just to be sure neither of the two would do anything unsuspected. The plan was to fly to the town closest to the forest and then take a speeder to get there. A neutral public transport was very fine in Lilin's opinion, even though it meant she had to be extremely careful.

She really just hoped that she could deal with the man later -- everything about him screamed 'Dark Side' to her. And that was most unfortunate. She herself tried her best to keep her Force presence at the bare minimum so that she would not get caught by some other Jedi. Or worse, some Sith.

They would get to the port from which the public vessel was supposed to deploy in a few minutes.

"I am not embarrassed to work with you, might I add," she said, showing that she was not afraid of working with the enemy when there was a need for that. After all, they were there for a common thing.

One thing the two hadn't talked about was what both of them would get from the mission. Lilin really wanted the ship and the Sith, but there was much else to that. Of course one wouldn't desert from the One Sith with empty pockets. It was rumoured the man had some cool items in his hands. And whether Solan wanted them or not, she didn't care. Because she didn't want them, especially if they were all Dark Side items.

"Bring me to justice?" He raised a brow as they walked towards the transport, grabbing his identification papers from his jacket while he walked, but kept them folded up until they would get to the actual workers for the transport liner.

"Hate to explain this to you madam, but I am in no way your enemy nor that of any Jedi. Hell, i honestly thing you guys are the best thing for this galaxy. But there remains a need for balance, too much light could be just as bad as the Sith ruling the galaxy." He smiles as he said this to her, though behind the smile was no actual cockiness or a bit of hostility. Instead, what was there was sincerity that he believed this? After all to Solan what was important was to do good in order to combat evil, the way in which one did it was important though Jedi can be the ones to deny their emotions and to work through the light like their ancestors. Solan had taught himself, burned himself, and experienced both sides. To him, it was far easier to take the force through his emotions rather than to ignore them.

"Emotion yet Peace, Passion yet serenity."

Those words came from hi but more as a mumble than anything else. They were two lines of a long unused version of the Jedi code which taught balance rather than devotion to one side. While he still did draw only from the dark, those words were important to him as they showed the duality and balance that was necessary... whether the Jedi with him understood his own thoughts was another thing.

His hand reached up to give his papers to the boarding official before receiving them back and heading onto the transport, only waiting for her to join him.

Lilin would give her papers - faked ones, just to be sure - to the official. She had been given the guarantee that these would work just as fine as actual official ones. And they did actually look very authentic, she had to admit.

The two entered the ship which was supposed to leave in a minute or so now. She would take a seat by one of the windows, but she didn't care much about the man. She guessed he would sit next to her or at least near to her so that they could keep an eye on each other and to possibly keep the discussion going.

"I believe in emotions. But that doesn't mean I can't be a Jedi," was her response to the quoted part of an old Code. She didn't know such a code, but perhaps it wasn't even that important. "That is a difficult matter."

She had grown quite strong as to not to fall to the Dark Side anymore. The corruption inside had been tamed, but she still feared that one day it would explode and take her over. She had even started to meditate on this matter, so that she would be safe from the darkness.

"So. What do you want to gain from the mission?"

He shrugged as she answered about emotions and nodded, but it was when she asked him what he had to gain and to that he shrugged.

"I get to hang out with a pretty woman and help her get something for herself. What more is there to need?" He asked her before continuing on. "Though, in all seriousness im doing this because i can, not because i have some need for a material reward. I do get to prove to you first hand not all of us users of the dark are evil though, so i guess that counts?" He honestly could care less about a reward for doing this, being that he had done things for less. Atleast this way he gets a bit of face time he reason, and even if she didn't become convinced that users of the dark weren't all bad he would still get to see some short burst of action.

"Im more curious though why you would bring a user of the dark with you on this kind of mission. Usually when one of your order finds the reason to visit or meet me, its in my garden on Kesh and i end up giving them a flower as a goodbye present or something. Never have i actually gotten the call for help on a mission."

He was relaxed in the seat, his hands crossed over his chest as his eyes had closed and he waited for the transport to get underway. Once more he was busy sorting the emotions around him into two categories while he sat there. In one category was the emotions he could use while in the other was emotions he could spread. Fear, anger, hate, worry, those would all be pulled towards him while he spread around the emotions like joy and care for others towards those that he had taken the lesser emotions from. He hated feeling the emotions he used in order to draw his power, atleast he hated when others were feeling them.

"Look, I need help. And I must admit, I wouldn't want to bring other members of the Order with me. The mission I am going on is fairly... selfish, so to speak," Lilin noted. "That is why I need somebody unlikely to come with me. A darksider is good, but a darksider not trusted by most orders around the galaxy, even better."

She then looked at the man.

"No offense."

The Jedi Master didn't know how well the little adventure would go, but she remained hopeful. If she was lucky, she could bring two darksiders to the light. If she was less lucky, then maybe only one. But she didn't think she would completely fail. There just didn't seem to be a way for it to happen, as she was very confident in both her methods and her cause.

"Why is it that you think tapping into the Dark Side is not evil?" she changed the topic.

She had not before met a person who would think this way. Some Sith thought they weren't evil, but they actually did commit evil deeds, still making them evil. The Shadow Prince was not the evilest there was, though.

"I think I do not share your belief of the Dark SIde being any good with you."

He laughed as she said no offense and waved it off.

"None was taken, I swear that I get monthly visits from you guys, so I'm not surprised if I am considered rather untrustworthy in your order... bit saddened though considering that I do enjoy being around your people. Your homes are some of the most serene and beautiful places."

while she spoke about her thoughts on him not believing his use of the dark side was evil he had to think about the fact himself. To almost all, the use of the power was far from easy and certainly very dangerous. IF one lost their own control on the force while drawing from that side, it would result in permanent damages that were near impossible to fix, even through the force itself. A Darksider, even those two title themselves dark Jedi, generally, kill without compassion or hesitation, and he had done so before but that was not as a dark side, but rather out of anger.

"I draw from that side because it is the most natural for me. Unlike most, I don't care about attaining more power for my own greed, but rather to protect others. I avoid those powers that are inherently dark or corruptive like lightning and drain, and further yet I still do understand the pain of those I kill. My Empathy ensures I feel everything I do to the person in front of me, I understand their pain, their last thoughts... and I honor every man I kill, back at my home on Kesh."

He smiled as his hand moved to one of the pouches on his belt before drawing from it a single seed, one that had been altered before in the past.

"I believe in the idea of it being the purpose behind your actions, that makes you evil or good, not from where you get the power. Just as a dark side can create acts of Genocide, they can put their lives on the line to save millions they don't even know. They can cry for those who were stolen from this world before their time. They can feel compassion for those they fight, especially if they feel that person's pain. But those of the light, servants of good, they can commit acts unspeakable. Recently there was Gratos, then there was Korriban in ancient times. How we choose to use our power makes us who we are, not where we get the power from."

He held out the seed for her before nodding towards it. The shape of the seed had nothing special about it, nothing amazing or defining. It had a slight blue tint to the otherwise brown shell, and seemed touched by the force a bit more but it would seem like it was every bit a normal seed as any others. Further, Solan seemed to offer it with less expectation of her actually accepting it, and more curiosity if she would do so.

"Bury and grow this for the next person you see perish, or in memory of someone you care for deeply. I promise you it will not fade with time once grown."

Once it as taken or rejected, his body would fall back into the body of the chair, his eyes staring at the back of their lids while the ship move. She wouldn't try to deal with him on this ship, so all caution and worry evaporated from him as he fell into a relaxed state. She was interesting, one of the first true followers of the light he had met in a long time. Most understood what he was, even if it was something they would never do themselves, but this one showed much more devotion to the path of a Jedi. The Extermination of the dark, how ironic that such an idea could be upheld by followers of the light, those who preached compassion. To him, he wished they instead chose to focus on the removal of evil itself rather than placing blame on a group, but it seemed they were as guilty as anyone else in assumptions.
