Jedi Padawan Ryder Moon constructed his second lightsaber by connecting pieces of scrap metal together that he obtained from a somewhat illegal trade. His first lightsaber was destroyed a few days prior to the creation of this second version by an EMP device. The scrap metal in the previous model was old and rusted and as such was not able to withstand the explosion. The saber has the same crystal as the original, a shining orange one but is different in all other components. The ironwood addition is inspired by the lightsaber of another Jedi named Jasper Kai'el that used the same material for his saber, although Ryder made sure to only use ironwood in moderation and in only two small locations on the top part of his saber. He also made sure to add a gloss finish to it as to make it look more fancy. The addition of a hatch on the top part of the saber was necessary in order for Ryder to be able to make repairs to the saber on the fly since scrap metal is not famous for its safety and efficiency. Finally, it should be noted that the Scrap Saber holds a special place in Ryder's heart as it reminds him of his past and taught upbringing.
